The service was not good. We were rushed through dinner even though the restaurant was only 20-30% full, we were served bruschetta without any bread, crackers, etc., I didn't get any silverware (my husband had to take some from another table), when I asked for a second glass of wine, I was charged for it, but never served the second glass (had to ask they take it off our bill), and they gave us ice cream for our anniversary, which was a nice gesture, but the ice cream was half melted and when it was served our waiter said "Happy Birthday". When I told him it was our five year Anniversary, he said sorry, that guy told me the wrong thing (and pointed somewhere off in the distance) and scuttled away. I mean, just really really bad. We've been here twice and I'm super disappointed that this was such a special occasion for us and we were treated like an easily forgotten inconvenience. Sorry to say we won't ever be back.
Fabulous Italian restaurant. Probably the best restaurant in Naperville. My wife and I have been twice now and have been very impressed.
Unfortunately the food was not as good as it's been in the past. Was really sad since I talked the place up to my friend, then ended up with a disappointing meal.
Saturday 6:30pm reservation, seated immediately. Food & service OK.
Glasses were dirty when we sat down at the table. Tablecloth had pasta sauce on it, GROSS!!! When they brought plates for us to share our salad, those dishes were also dirty!! The pasta dishes we ordered had no flavor!! It was a waste of money!! Something is clearly going on at this restaurant, it used to be great, we would frequent it often. Last 2 Times, BAD! Very sad cause the staff is great. Food, not good! We won’t be back. A waste of $200!
The restaurant was SO crowded, that a bus boy dropped a chair on a guest. We couldn’t walk to/from our table without putting our back-ends in someone’s face. Even w/ reservations, we waited over 15 min. & the noise level does not allow for conversation!
Super crowded , cramped and loud echo barn where the food and drinks you order won't even fit on the table where they seat you. You will be juggling plates, elbowed in the back of the head and bumped by staff and other guests throughout your meal.
Clearly, the decision was made to totally forget about guest comfort in favor of jam packing the place with tiny tables that are just a few inches apart. We had to leave after appetizers because even though we were sitting across from each other at our tiny table, we could not carry on a conversation without shouting. Ambiance and furnishings are horrible and uncomfortable.
Enjoyable but not memorable food. Tables are too cramped and it’s a very noisy and drafty restaurant.
Great meals for each of the four of us. Fish and pastas mostly that night. Never disappoints.
Overall very good as usual. Great food good service .
Lunch at 2pm on weekday. Good time to go. Very few people there.
Our experience was very nice. The food and service were excellent and will return soon.
Food and service was good but with having a reservation I thought we should had better seating and not next to kitchen.
The staff were very accommodating to our delay in arriving (due to major traffic delays). Food was great but it was so noisy, I couldn't wait to get out. It seemed so ludicrous to spend all that money to delight one of the senses (taste) while assaulting another (hearing).
This was at best a neighborhood diner at upscale prices. From the restaurant's description, we expected upscale dining. This is far from it. The atmosphere is closer to a diner. The food is somewhere in between, but definitely not up to the restaurant's hype or worth the prices charged. My sea bass was overcooked. My wife's shrimp special was rubbery. The service was friendly, but only sporadically available.
We won't return.
Great!excellent service. Great food recommendations. Great setting for a business meal.
Been a favorite for 12 years and always a great experience. Have tried a variety of menu items but -- do the specials.
It’s always a pleasure to eat at La Sorella. The food is excellent and the place is perfect for a romantic dinner.
Love it! 3rd visit and we will be back! Great service. Delicious food. Cozy ambiance for a date.
Tables to close together no room to move or room for tables to be served. Food good though
I LOVE all the Francesca restaurants! You always serve your food piping hot which I love!
I took my wife and 2 teen daughters to here for Valentines Day. the waiter was a little over whelmed but very accommodating on some special orders we threw at him. This is our "go to" Italian restaurant in town and have been going here for over 10 years. it is good but it just seems like it can be better. i am not sure if it is somewhat average because it is a Chicago Chain restaurant? or because the management is off? I cant place what is off? the food runners need more training. they stood at one side of the table and handed our food out like we were coming through the drive through and we had to pass the dishes around ourselves. I will go back again but i just wish this place was overall better.
This resteraunt is always really great. Recommend it to many. This visit I did get the wrong meal but didn’t say anything, ate it and it was still good. Probably should have let them know but it was very busy and didn’t want to wait. Will still go back.
One of our favorite places to go for dinner in downtown Naperville, They were very gracious with finding us a table by the window upstairs. Seating is close together throughout the restaurant and sitting by the windows provides a nice atmosphere since tables are so close. Great place. Food always good.
Excellent service as always. Never knew they had an upstairs dining room. Very nice. Food was outstanding as always. Our go to Italian spot.
Best resteraunt in Naperville
This was our second visit to La Sorella in the past 3 wks; so good the first time we just had to come back. We were celebrating Valentine's Day. Busy night but the service and meal were still fantastic. I had the chicken d'silvia....absolutely superb. Please be sure to add sausage and peppers as a side, you won't be disappointed. Finished our meal with the chocolate lava cake, not a fan being paired with mint gelato switched it to vanilla and it is to die for! Thank you for making our Valentine's Day extra special. 😍❤
My wife and I celebrated Valentine’s Day here. We knew it would be crowded, but tables were extremely close together. We felt cramped and in the way. What really killled our experience was the waiter, however. He didn’t even introduce himself - rudely grabbed a menu off our table to help another guest. It took 45 mins to place our order (server refused to let us order dinner with our appetizers) and we didn’t eat until after an hour and 15 of waiting. The food was delicious, however, overpriced (8 or 9 raviolis for 18 bucks) and small portions. Another weird note: a kid snuck in and was selling candy bars for his b-ball team table-to-table. Will definitely not return.
It was Valentines Day and I think they tried to squeeze too many tables in as it was VERY cramped. It felt like we had 4 other people at our table and the waiter had to reach over us to get to the corner table.
We've been at La Sorella before and it was much better than this.
Amazing food! I wish i would tried this place sooner. One of my top 10 places in Illinois to eat!
Friendly staff, good service and always delicious selections at affordable prices!
Was just OK. Calamari was excellent. Entrees were OK. Lacked the flavor comparable to the price. Service was great. Worst part of the evening was the end. Ordered coffee. Came out cold. Like, cold, cold. We sent it back and it came back about 5 degrees warmer. Disappointing end to an otherwise nice experience. If anything, an Italian restaurant ought to be able to get its coffee right.
As always, great food and adult beverages. Very noisy on first floor area made conversation difficult. Waitress was somewhat disorganized.
We live this restaurant. It’s cozy on the main floor and has a lovely private room for special occasions upstairs. Fresh, delicious and lunch specials that can’t be beat!
louis was a great server. he was very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. love the food and the ambiance. The evening my husband and I dined there, I noticed there were more than a few groups with small kids so the noise level was louder than normal.
The restaurant was packed and smelled awesome. We ordered an appetizer, 2 mains and 2 desserts. The food was phenomenal. The fillet medallions melted in my mouth and my husband ordered seafood pasta and all the shellfish was cooked perfectly. The desserts were awesome too. Everything tasted like it came out of my Italian grandma's kitchen!
Frequent customers. Highly suggest making a reservation. Saturday 6:45pm reservations. Arrived early, restaurant was busy, seated promptly. Request to sit on the 1st floor. Front staff extremely nice. Great food and value. Outstanding attentive service from our waiter Luis. Most enjoyable dining experience. Can’t wait to go back.
The food was pretty yummy. Our waiter was wonderful too. My boyfriend and I were both disappointed however by the lack of options for spaghetti, I.e. any alfredo or other sauce different than tomato. The restaurant is extremely claustrophobic too. It is located in a tight area, and that means sitting elbow to elbow with strangers if there’s a crowd. It was very uncomfortable dining there. So much for an intimate date! The food was nice, but we will not be coming back. It’s not worth the few pros for us.
The food was excellent but it was just really loud and difficult to have a nice conversation. We were seated upstairs which I thought might be quieter but it definitely was not.
HAD A GREAT TIME WITH GOOD FOOD AND WINE.
MEAL WAS PACED VERY NICELY BY OUR WAITER.
