La Sorella di Francesca Ratings and Reviews
This resteraunt is always really great. Recommend it to many. This visit I did get the wrong meal but didn’t say anything, ate it and it was still good. Probably should have let them know but it was very busy and didn’t want to wait. Will still go back.
One of our favorite places to go for dinner in downtown Naperville, They were very gracious with finding us a table by the window upstairs. Seating is close together throughout the restaurant and sitting by the windows provides a nice atmosphere since tables are so close. Great place. Food always good.
My wife and I celebrated Valentine’s Day here. We knew it would be crowded, but tables were extremely close together. We felt cramped and in the way. What really killled our experience was the waiter, however. He didn’t even introduce himself - rudely grabbed a menu off our table to help another guest. It took 45 mins to place our order (server refused to let us order dinner with our appetizers) and we didn’t eat until after an hour and 15 of waiting. The food was delicious, however, overpriced (8 or 9 raviolis for 18 bucks) and small portions. Another weird note: a kid snuck in and was selling candy bars for his b-ball team table-to-table. Will definitely not return.
It was Valentines Day and I think they tried to squeeze too many tables in as it was VERY cramped. It felt like we had 4 other people at our table and the waiter had to reach over us to get to the corner table.
We've been at La Sorella before and it was much better than this.
Was just OK. Calamari was excellent. Entrees were OK. Lacked the flavor comparable to the price. Service was great. Worst part of the evening was the end. Ordered coffee. Came out cold. Like, cold, cold. We sent it back and it came back about 5 degrees warmer. Disappointing end to an otherwise nice experience. If anything, an Italian restaurant ought to be able to get its coffee right.
Frequent customers. Highly suggest making a reservation. Saturday 6:45pm reservations. Arrived early, restaurant was busy, seated promptly. Request to sit on the 1st floor. Front staff extremely nice. Great food and value. Outstanding attentive service from our waiter Luis. Most enjoyable dining experience. Can’t wait to go back.
The restaurant was packed and smelled awesome. We ordered an appetizer, 2 mains and 2 desserts. The food was phenomenal. The fillet medallions melted in my mouth and my husband ordered seafood pasta and all the shellfish was cooked perfectly. The desserts were awesome too. Everything tasted like it came out of my Italian grandma's kitchen!
Back for another meal. Much more bustling than past visits and service had to overcome a bad credit card reader. Luckily, we had cash. Food was great and the cocktails/wine list very good. Particularly enjoy desert at this restaurant - the Pecan pie is awesome.
The service was great. Our server came to the table right away. My cocktail, a cosmo, was excellent. Although no one in our party of four is vegetarian, all of us ordered meatless entrees. We enjoyed our food. My husband and I are looking forward to going back.
The greeter (male) was extremely rude to my wife when we arrived, we asked for a table by the window and his demeanor and rude response was not appreciated the rest of the staff were very friendly and helped ful
This man deserves to be trained in basic customer service
Overall the service was very good, just more casual than expected.
The weekday lunch special is a prix fix menu with soup or bruschetta, any entree from the menu & dessert of tiramisu or a gelato filled profiteroles. Amazing deal for $16 which is less than most of the entrees are on there own.
The experience was fine, but we noted that the occasion was a birthday celebration when we made the reservation on Open Table and no one wished my wife a happy birthday at the restaurant. (So this may be more of a review of Open Table than La Sorella do Francesca.)
Xmas Eve 7pm reservations. Seated promptly, restaurant was crowded unfortunately we were seated upstairs. Large open space, Extremely Noisy & Loud!! Air temp upstairs was very Cold. Can hear everyone's conversation around us and clanging of plates/silverware being bused. We are Repeat customers. Food was disappointing. Ordered pasta w/lobster special (lacked seafood) Expensive for portion size. Calamari fritti appetizer was chewy. Excellent “outstanding” service from our waiter Steve (Enjoyable personality).
I had made a dinner reservation several weeks prior. Despite their being empty tables when we arrived downstairs we were seated upstairs with two very loud holiday party groups. One of whom allowed their teenagers to crowd around our table several times. There was appeared to be only one waiter who was also serving as the bartender and the larger groups were ordering time consuming could cocktails. Our waiter was wonderful and did the best he could but had to send the busboy over to take our drink refresh order and we were then over charged by a drink. The food fortunately was wonderful as always.
Food was good. Waiter was not friendly and engaging and I would expect that in this type of restaurant. I felt a bit like he wanted us out of the table because we were enjoying a relaxing meal. Coffee served was cold and when told of it there was no apology and seemed like we were bothering him with our request for a fresh (hot) cup of coffee.
