La Sorella di Francesca Ratings and Reviews
Back for another meal. Much more bustling than past visits and service had to overcome a bad credit card reader. Luckily, we had cash. Food was great and the cocktails/wine list very good. Particularly enjoy desert at this restaurant - the Pecan pie is awesome.
The service was great. Our server came to the table right away. My cocktail, a cosmo, was excellent. Although no one in our party of four is vegetarian, all of us ordered meatless entrees. We enjoyed our food. My husband and I are looking forward to going back.
The greeter (male) was extremely rude to my wife when we arrived, we asked for a table by the window and his demeanor and rude response was not appreciated the rest of the staff were very friendly and helped ful
This man deserves to be trained in basic customer service
Overall the service was very good, just more casual than expected.
The weekday lunch special is a prix fix menu with soup or bruschetta, any entree from the menu & dessert of tiramisu or a gelato filled profiteroles. Amazing deal for $16 which is less than most of the entrees are on there own.
The experience was fine, but we noted that the occasion was a birthday celebration when we made the reservation on Open Table and no one wished my wife a happy birthday at the restaurant. (So this may be more of a review of Open Table than La Sorella do Francesca.)
Xmas Eve 7pm reservations. Seated promptly, restaurant was crowded unfortunately we were seated upstairs. Large open space, Extremely Noisy & Loud!! Air temp upstairs was very Cold. Can hear everyone's conversation around us and clanging of plates/silverware being bused. We are Repeat customers. Food was disappointing. Ordered pasta w/lobster special (lacked seafood) Expensive for portion size. Calamari fritti appetizer was chewy. Excellent “outstanding” service from our waiter Steve (Enjoyable personality).
I had made a dinner reservation several weeks prior. Despite their being empty tables when we arrived downstairs we were seated upstairs with two very loud holiday party groups. One of whom allowed their teenagers to crowd around our table several times. There was appeared to be only one waiter who was also serving as the bartender and the larger groups were ordering time consuming could cocktails. Our waiter was wonderful and did the best he could but had to send the busboy over to take our drink refresh order and we were then over charged by a drink. The food fortunately was wonderful as always.
Food was good. Waiter was not friendly and engaging and I would expect that in this type of restaurant. I felt a bit like he wanted us out of the table because we were enjoying a relaxing meal. Coffee served was cold and when told of it there was no apology and seemed like we were bothering him with our request for a fresh (hot) cup of coffee.
The diner recommendations all warned about the high noise level.
They were right: This restaurant is way too noisy for comfort.
Our wait staff, Daisy, was a TOTAL delight, could not ask for
friendlier, more attentive service. Daisy is one of the rare people
who spread joy by their mere presence. The lunch special menu
for $16.00 was outstanding and much enjoyed by myself and guests.
We had the pasta harlecchina for our entree. YUM!
Not all of our food came out at one time, by the time all was out half of our food was cold. The food was nothing special, could have done better at home. Two dishes we returned because of no flavor at all, tasteless and watery. My $26.00 sea bass with vegetables was cold, nothing special and veggies were barely steamed with no flavor. We were a large family celebrating a birthday and have been to other Francesca’s before that were wonderful-so this was a terrible let down! We were looking for a great dinner and willing to spend a little more $$ for this night. Feel like we wasted time and money, would not return!
I am at a Francesca's restaurant once a week, at least. It is sad to say I will never return to this location. They put us at the smallest table, up against another table, right behind the hostess stand. They was NO room to move. I had to YELL in order to be heard. Also, we were rushed in and out. We weren't even there 40 minutes. We weren't even finished with our appetizer and our dinner came. Very unprofessional. This location should take notes from the Bolingbrook location. I will not be back to the Naperville location.
We were a group of eight friends, four from out of town, who enjoyed dinner after a Christmas concert at Wentz Concert Hall. Our server was knowledgeable and professional and, even though one of the dinner specials was already sold out (it was only 5:45!) we had a few other entrees to choose from that were delicious. Always a lively crowd and a lovely atmosphere at La Sorella in Naperville, consistently excellent!
I have eaten here many times before and the food, drinks and service did not disappoint. However, the reason I used Open Table was to indicate that this particular dining occasion was a BIG DEAL (my wife's birthday) and neither the hostess or server ever acknowledged such. I was very disappointed and will not be back again soon.
The calamari was extremely fishy smelling had a rubber texture. The upstairs was extremely loud due to the tables being on top of each other. The entrées that we ordered were just ok nothing special we felt as though they were overpriced for the product given to us.
The wait staff was extremely friendly nice and very helpful. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be coming back to this restaurant
