La Scala Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, my family and I did not have the best experience this past time at La Scala. It started off fine but unfortunately our server appeared to have gotten quite busy and was not able to check on us until he brought the check at the very end. Little things like refills went missed that could have fulfilled out dining needs. We were put in a corner and he was no where to be found. The quality of food is still superb including both meat and produce but for the price you pay, I would have expected better service.
Absolutely the best Italian meal I’ve ever had!
I’ve been to a few of the Little Italy Restaurants over the years, wish I had visited La Scala before this evening.
I enjoy good bourbon and was quite surprised to find multiple Pappy Van Winkle selections.
I recommend you take the time and enjoy a fine meal.
LaScala was outstanding! They accommodated my several reservation changes due to scheduling on my end. The service was friendly and fast. We had a short timeframe due to NYE celebrations but the Crostini de Gamberi and Fettucini del Mare came out quickly and were simply delicious. We will definitely be going back to try more of the menu!
We dined on New Year's Eve, so the place was a bit hectic and loud. Overall, the food was delicious, and even for a busy holiday night, we did not feel rushed. Our table was ready for our reservation time, so we had no waiting. The majority of staff was friendly, although our waiter had a bit of an attitude. I had anticipated a wait based on the amounts of people in the bar area, and went ahead and ordered beers. We were shown to our table almost immediately, and the waiter made snide comment about my ordering drinks on my own. He may have been trying to be humorous, but my wife took offense, which he simply brushed off without apology. However, he was attentive and more pleasant the remainder of the evening.
I would recommend for a slower night, and I would return.
This is one of those inferior places where the staff treats the customer as if they've never had such sophisticated food. The food was mediocre, the room is inviting and warm. The greatest resturants I have visited over the years have never been pretentious.
We visited Baltimore this past weekend for hubby's 50th Birthday and he insisted on eating at LaScala two nights in a row (hard to argue with his newfound wisdom). We always enjoy the veal and ventured on to a seafood pasta special with crab and lobster (delicious) on the first night and on the second night we again had veal saltimbucco and the shrimp and crab alfredo, which were both awesome. However, I want to share that we had never tried the gnocchi and asked to order it on our second night as an appetizer to split. We opted for the cream sauce and the kitchen split the plate in the back. The chef delivered the dish and told us they use potato to make the gnocchi. They were AMAZING! So light that they melted in your mouth. Cream sauce was brilliant. So...yet another weekend is being planned for LaScala (might as well stop pretending that we are going to see Baltimore) and the amazing gnocchi!
Food was not very interesting and did not live up to description & could have been more generous with portion sizes for price. Maybe add a little vegetable to the entree? Not unheard of in upscale trendy venues offering flavorful fare. I recommend finding a mom & pop restaurant where food is rich & flavorful & half the price with none of the attitude.
This was our 1st visit to La Scala in Baltimore’s Little Italy. It was very busy that night with live music and an indoor bocce court. We were with another couple also celebrating their anniversary. For starters 3 of us had the Cesar salad and it was delicious. One person had the bruschetta—4 slices of toast, 2 with goat cheese and 2 with tomatoes. Interesting presentation and quite good. Dinner items included osso bucco, the house special, veal saltimbocca, a lobster pasta dish and veal piccata. The veal dishes were served with a pasta in marinara sauce. Unfortunately the pasta had not been salted and was a disappointment. We shared 2 bottles of a reasonably priced New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. No one had room for desert. The whole experience was very pleasurable and we would return.
The service, the food, and the attention from Chef Nino making several table visits to ensure an enjoyable evening made this dining experience one to remember. I had the grilled Caesar salad (not on the menu) recommended by Chef Nino and the lump crab and shrimp tossed with garlic and olive oil over linguini. It was amazing!!!! Would definitely go back!!!
Great restaurant experience. Went as a group of five. Complimentary shuttle service was provided. Wait staff was timely and knowledgeable. All items were delectable. All dining parties were highly satisfied with their specified selections, and we were left wanting for nothing. Not cheap, but worth the price of admission.
The service here was terrible from the moment we sat down. It only got worse and worse, and then finally our awful waiter tried to charge us for something we did not even order and insisted that it was correct when we brought it to his attention. The food was fine, nothing special for the amount they charge. Safe to say that I will NOT be returning.
Wonderful evening. We were seated in a room with a large party and we asked to be moved due to the noise level. We were moved to another table and we were asked on several occasions if we were pleased with our new spot. Waiter was very knowledgeable and very attentive. Food was excellent and the meal was paced well, no rush. Love a restaurant with no tv's in the dining rooms. Bus staff was very attentive as well. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they brought us dessert on the house. All in all a very nice evening.
Fabulous from start to finish!! We went to La Scala on Friday 12/8/17 to celebrate my birthday and it could not have been better. Caesar salad, fresh bruschetta, veal saltimbocca, spaghetti puttanesca, ossobuco, and risotto were all flavorful and delicious. I even received a complimentary tiramisu to celebrate my birthday! I can’t wait to go again!!
