La Scala is red sauce Italian in Beverly Hills - but you're really here for the chopped salad.
They ran out of romaine lettuce which is strange. I went for a Caesar salad specifically and didn’t get to have it.
Authentic and great food! Go to this restaurant it’s great!
When I arrived my guest, who had been seated, was involved in an argument with the staff and insisted that we leave. They were rude and haughty with her. I’m not sure what had happened before I got there but clearly it was not good. We ate at a restaurant up the street and I will not be returning to La Scala
Best food and great atmosphere and lots of food for your money!
Service was terrible
The food was really nice, but the waiter was non existent and therefore no service. Why do you have to pay tips when there is no service at the table?
It has been several years since I last visited LaScala. We were seated near the front door on a chilly rainy day and my guest ask to change seats because she was cold. You would have thought that they would instantly be accommodating. There was a big production that included the maitre’d and at first they said that it was not possible even though the restaurant was only a third full. When we said we needed to go else where they then found something. The rest of the evening was okay. Food was warm but not hot.
Reliable great service. Terrific ambiance. Very neighborhood type feel. Good people watching.
Poor food quality
not up to past standards
Was worried about La Scala being some snobby Beverly Hills restaurant. It was quite the opposite. A beautiful, friendly, well-priced Italian restaurant. The food was excellent and the ambiance was very nice- classy and comfortable. We are already planning to return. I highly recommend it.
Great meal and great atmosphere — as usual!
A local favorite that never fails to deliver excellent food and good service in a great setting.
Love the take out menu, too.
Wish we had this restaurant in miami! Best chopped salad anywhere the rest of the food authentic loved it go every time in LA
Love the salad, lasagna and salmon! Great service! Always consistent.
Great ! but kind of noisy !
It was Valentines Day and the restaurant was beautifully decorated and made for a really special evening. The food is always delicious, especially their famous La Scala Chopped Salad.
La Scala is one of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Have been coming here for years. Food is excellent, atmosphere is wonderful. Our regular waiter wasn’t there and the waitress appeared to be new but all in all it’s always a great evening out. Highly recommend it
Sad to say the service has deteriorated from the last time...which wasn't good either. Our server was either new or didn't care how long we sat with no attention. Our Mozzarella Marinara
came undercooked...had to send it back, after sitting for exceptionally long time. The rest of the meal was good, the food is generally excellent so no surprise there. The biggest issue was the length of time we sat unattended, both upon arrival and after ordering.
I'm hoping this restaurant up their game as this is a game changer.
We have been eating at your restaurant for many, many years. Our waitress was unfriendly, uninterested and bit rude.
We asked before ordering , if all alcoholic drinks could be rung up separately. We were told, yes.
When we received the check, there was one check, with alcoholic beverages and food bill all together.
When we asked the waitress, she told us that there is only one check per party.
We asked to speak to the manager and her response was that we can only pay with two credit cards, if the bill is split in half.
I have never heard of such a policy.
We will think again, before eating at your establishment with a group.
Food was good. Service was poor. The manager is rude and unprofessional.
the manager was outrageous .....mean and inappropriate!! The order was not correct and she made us pay for it and was completely rude to the server. We were outraged and completely uncomfortable. She has no business being in that position. I'd like to talk to owner
Food was excellent, we had 1/2 Chopped Salad and was able to order 1/2 of the Bolognese which was perfect. Our server was very nice, tried hard but was not a '10'. Maybe new person. Did not refill wine, little slow delivering cocktails, water and check. We would definitely go back.
The bottom line - awful food!
Salad machine chopped and overly acidic.
Mains - terrible.
It was a busy night and I was glad I made reservations. We were seated right away and the staff was very nice. We had a pasta dish and grilled salmon. Both were delicious. I enjoyed the pleasant lighting and the warm decor. It was a delightful and memorable evening, however, I must admit the company I was with was exceptional.
Excellent food and service
Food too salty.
The hosting team and management never fails to offend
Most delicious food I have had in a while since San Francisco Italian Food.
The temperature of the room at night is always to warm inthecwinterour server, overalls personable, forgot our order and had to return after 20 minutes to ask for it again and then informed us the kitchen was out of lasagna. He seemed to think this was funny. It wasn’t. There was a table with a screaming child. The parents should have beeen told to take the child outside to quiet him rather than disturb the entire dining room.
Best bolognese dish in LA. I want to try other dishes but I always have the spaghetti bolognese.
Always a classic. The chopped salad is memorable.
I do like the food, but the management is not client friendly. I ordered the wrong soup accidentally. They would not accommodate me by changing unless I paid for both. I've never been to a place where normal salad ingredients are extra! The salad comes with one olive and my friend asked for some extra. They would not do it!
I guess they are busy enough that it doesn't matter. There are other places to go..
La Scala is a warm, inviting room with an older atmosphere that is a welcome contrast to the noisy cold appearing current trends. The Italian food is good enough, the wine list is good enough. You will not have an exceptional meal but you will have a nice. comfortable meal at a rerasonable price in nice surroundings. Staff had always been good.
We has a quick dinner...food was fine, however, we had to send the bread back as it was cold
We had a great experience tonight...Beautiful ambiance , service & food! Will definitely return!
We were seated in booth in the back of the restaurant. Very quiet, cozy and a great view of the holiday splendor. We shared the house chopped salad which was awesome after adding a few more items to round out this tasty experience. I had the Bolognese which was over the top comfort food. The quantity was big enough to enjoy the next day. My husband had veal marsala and fell in love. Again, a good portion! We were too stuffed to enjoy desert, but it looked great. A nice selection of wine by the glass.
Excellent red sauce. Amazing eggplant parm. Amazing pasta bolognese. Great fish prep with limone y capers. Fantastic balsamic chicken. Value wine list. Great server. A-hole maitre'd (the tall thin younger guy up front). Otherwise, 5 star service.
We arrived 1/2 hour early to ensure we were seated promptly. I had requested a booth but got a table. Ok. It felt very crunched as the space in between guests is very tight. Our waitress was average at best. Since it was our first time here, it’s nice to have an introduction of the restaurant. After looking over the menus. We sat for another half hour waiting for someone to take our order. The guests to the left and right had already received their dinner and had gotten there after we had. Finally our orders were placed bread was brought, however no vinegar or oil. Each portion something was always missing. Same with our drinks. We received our food and that was the highlight of the night. The food was amazing. 10 minutes into our dinner our waitress comes back to offer fresh Parmesan? Hmmm we were half way into our entrees. When I had finished a waiter came through picking up our dishes and rudely attempted to take my GF’s as well. The restaurant and location is a hotspot. If the service was right I would think about returning. It’s just broken in many aspects.
