Attentive staff bringing water, bread and taking a drink order and bringing drinks long before the captain/ maitre d' came to take our order. Food was very good -- recommend the calamari which was light and fresh. Everyone at our table satisfied with the meal and the drinks.
We'll be back.
Food was delicious We all had the price fixed dinner. It was excellentl. Great choices on the menu
Food was good. Service is horrible. They are slow and rude
The service was horrible. We had to ask for menus after being there 20 minutes, then we waited a half hour to get a drink. By the time the food came we had been there way over an hour. They never brought the dessert that came with the meal and the staff was rude when we inquired about our food. I am hoping they were just having a bad night , but they are on restaurant row and they should have been prepared for a theatre crowd. Very disappointing.
Very gracious and attentive staff. We both chose from the prix fixe menu. Great choices. We had the veal cannelloni and veal with prosciutto and Parmesan. The chocolate mousse cake was to die for.
Came here for dinner before a show. Had reservations and were seated immediately. Was a little odd that they did not have a drink menu but was told "we can make anything you want" so I got a rum and coke. I ordered the Linguine with clam sauce, my partner ordered the stuffed chicken. 25 minutes after we ordered one of the line chefs said they were out of what my partner ordered and she needed to pick something else. She ended up getting the surf and turf. When our food came, mine was great. My partner's steak was very undercooked so they took it away to throw back on the grill. It came back a little while later and looked better. They also threw in a couple of extra potatoes to make up for the miscooking. This would have been fine but when she got to the second half of her steak it was still very undercooked. We unfortunately did not have time or we would have said something and had it sent back to cook some more. The staff was nice. The older man who sat us and took our order was nice, but was very hard to understand. That being said the food was good and I would still recommend it to people.
Great restaurant. Food is delicious. I’ve been here several times and food is always wonderful. They even have a $30 price fix menu with appetizer dinner and dessert.
Had an excellent pre-show meal with my daughter. Charming small restaurant. Pasta was cooked perfectly.
The food was very good. Entertainment was excellent. The service was outstanding.
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was beyond our expectations. There was a beautiful pianist there and an Opera club. We were mesmerized with the talent. It was like sneaking into private party of artists while we ate . Service was exceptional and the meal delicious.
Delicious minestrone, chicken & artichoke and wonderful carrot cake.
We had an amazing experience here! Wonderful quaint atmosphere with superb food! We were even surprised with live entertainment during our dinner!
Great location & food was very good. Nice Price Fixed Menu. They seemed a little understaffed, but we were able to get to the theater on time.
once a year we go to NYC for a play and for the last 12 years we have made La Rivista our special place....we found the restaurant through a cab driver who was/is Luciano cousin.....we have been back every year since and have sent many of our friends to La Rivista
Went before Theater. Reasonably priced, good selection, good Italian, nice presentation., good friendly service. Reminded me of what an Italian restaurant was like in the 60’s.
Very nice ambience, very attentive service, excellent food...except the manager kept carrying boxes of wine past tables to the kitchen at 6:30 pm. and then carrying clanking bottles from the kitchen to the bar which is co-located in the dining area...?! Maybe do that at some other time of day?
We enjoyed a great dinner before the show. We had reservations and were show to our table right away. Everyone was very attentive to our needs. The food was excellent we had steak, fish and chicken dishes. Each one was cooked perfect with lots of flavor.
Excellent food and exceptional service, friendly and efficient.
Great food. Great service.
Dinner with friends. Very good food and meal. Really enjoyed it
The La Riviera Restaurant is absolutely Fabulous, the Food is Great, the Service is Great, the Atmosphere is wonderful, the Prices are very reasonable for such Great Cuisine.
We will be Dining here again and again. This Rrsaurant is a real Gem.
Food was delicious, and the staff was very accommodating to my slightly difficult friends.
They were very happy with the veal dishes, my pasta, not so much. Ambiance is nice too. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful food and service; helpful and attentive. Only issue is the wine by the glass selection. Otherwise, would recommend.
Outstanding service & a delightful meal at the right price.
Food was very good. Service was just ok. I had to ask for our tables first cocktail. Nobody came over to ask us. I would say nice place but don’t feel like their happy to have you there.
Went for pre theater dinner. Service was very attentive without being cloying, and the food was delicious. The fried calamari was some of the best I have had. My only issue is that they were out of two of the things ordered, rose wine and oysters.
Terrible. Restaurant was out of everything I ordered at 6pm and place was empty. Kitchen actually substituted different fish from the one ordered and I ended up with no entree at all. Waiter was sympathetic but kitchen terribly run.
Fun place. Old school restaurant that served excellent food.
Best dinner we had in New York. Waiters were a little Surly, old guys who had a way of doing things. But they really knew how to take care of a table. Food was excellent and will be a regular visitor each time we go back
Enjoyable local feel and ambiance. A short walk from the Marriott Marquee. The food was very good offering for both a fixed and open menu. The fixed menu had plenty of offerings. We would return again.
It’s just a real nice neighborhood restaurant in the theater district., The Maitre d, the waiters, the food were all excellent. The aged Parmesan with the balsamic was a nice touch! My wife Betty loved it!!!! Can’t wait to go back
La Rivista is one of our go-tos whenever we have a special weekend planned in Manhattan. The staff is wonderful, a lot of care goes into how they treat their customers. Food is yummy. Ambiance is quiet, and lovely. Great spot for a special meal, or just a moment when you want to get away from the craziness.
Great food. Very helpful wait staff.
Fabulous as always. Great food and service!!!!
Such a fun and delicious experience! Super friendly staff and very attentive! Would definitely go back here again.
Not properly an Italian "restaurant", but more an Italian-type popular/touros food place before-theatre.
Disappointing experience. While the coat check woman was enchanting, the food, waiter and value for the meal was sub-par. Definitely, not a four star restaurant.
We loved the food! Amazing steaks, authentic pasta and very accommodating on food special requests. Wine was well priced as well.
Disappointed to receive an email that we were a no show as we dined.
Had to send salad back - clearly old lettuce.
Wine on list not available at $35 Accepted a $38 option. We were charged $39.
Drinks were overpriced...even for NY. Waiter rude and not very engaged. Portions on the small side. Calamari was good, but soup was watery. Overall not a great experience. Would never go again.
