Great food/service/location... a bit pricey, though.
The food was mediocre. My chicken was not cooked throughout. The wine we ordered they didn’t have.
The dining room is nicely decorated, not too noisy, very pleasant. Service was courteous but a bit slow, specially considering there were very few tables occupied.
Food was ok, the endive salad was a bit plain and the porcine mushroom ravioli was extremely salty. The tiramisu was good and the coffee as well. Overall it is a good spot to go before a show
St Valentine's day
We were in NYC to see a concert on Valentines Day and a friend recommended La Rivista. It was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent! I would recommend it to all of my friends.
Warm comfort on a snowy night. Pre fixe menu is great, broad selection of wine and attentive service.
I went there for my birthday with my son but this place is more of a romantic spot to go with a lover so felt a little uncomfortable. The food is a bit pricey we got the strip steak its little less than medium size for 37 bucks I can get much bigger steaks probably for the same price the other portions again are small I mean I spent like 130 and felt like I really didnt eat anything. The waiter didnt hear me the first time when I said I wanted 2 strip steaks so we had 2 wait for the second one. I give this place 3 stars
Good value and quality for your money, great flavor, very recommended.
food was excellent and staff was very accommodating.
The food and staff were outstanding, we will definitely be back on our next visit!
I guess I would recommend La Rivista if they didn’t have the price fix. Even though it’s $29.00, it’s not anything to talk about. The salad was wilted, polenta dry, chicken rubbery. Dessert was good, Tira mi su yum! Not going back!
Ordered a glass of wine , received a little more than a glass for $16; excessive.
Service initially was nonexistent. We had to get up from our very cramped table in the corner to get our own menus. When our order was finally taken we mentioned this and received no response or apology. Eventually service improved. The food was good.
The staff was wonderful. Very accommodating never rushed. Great tome
Pre theater dinner in easy walking distance to theater.
We stayed here on the 31.12.2018 and had a wonderfull evening into the new year.
many friendly and interesting people and actors from Broadway let us feel as a part of the Family!
By the way - we were only tutists!
Excelente servicio. Fuimos en New Year's Eve y nos cobraron el precio de menú fijo de todos los días. Además había show musical.
Food was tasty but service was terrible. We said at the beginning we had a deadline for a show, which they promptly forgot. Waiter never brought the wine list and then asked halfway through the meal if we wanted wine. It was hard to get their attention, and they forgot about our dessert.
Delicious and reasonable find on restaurant Row. Service was very efficient, and the prix fixe menu Pre-theater was an excellent value. I would definitely come here again! Some of the stand out dishes were the minestrone, polenta, porcini ravioli, and chicken with egg plant. The desserts were also delicious.
This was our second visit for dinner before a show. They have a good selection of food and wine. You won't be disappointed!
Very good food! ricotta cheese cake is very good is homemade and stake very good.
Very good food! Great pricing! Service was good.
Very small quaint place. Will definitely return
Great place for dinner. Service food and ambiance avoid bang for your buck in NYC. Close to theaters.
Absolutely loved visiting this restaurant before the theater. The service was wonderful. I recommend the price fixed menu it was well worth it. The crowd was diverse and the restaurant fills up quickly so definitely reserve a table. I also highly recommend the carrot cake. Looking forward to visiting again.
There were three in our party. Each of us ordered different appetizers and entrees from the prix-fixe menu, and each of us loved our choices of salad, soup, veal and lobster dishes. Desserts of tiramisu and chocolate cake were also outstanding. Portions were more than adequate. This was our second visit to La Rivista. Our previous visit was equally satisfying, so we will be back.
One of our trusted Theater district favorites. Excellent food and the Lasagna Bolognese is worth the caloric splurge.
Best meal we had over 4 days and we ate at some great places.
Really good food but they have to work on the service. They can be a little bit more friendly to their guests. Even if it's busy!
Great location, good food, average price for the neighborhood, service could have been a little better.
Live music was wonderful, so was the food!
We had dinner before going to a Broadway show the location was perfect. The restaurant is intimate and beautiful. The staff very attentive and the food was amazing. My husband raved about his steak and my veal was delicious.
Love the live music and great service. We look forward to our next visit!
Incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced. Menu with many food selections as well as price options from a la carte to price fixed.
It was right next to our hotel, so the convenience was awesome but when I come back to New York I will travel from wherever to eat here again. This was hands down the best steak I have ever had in my entire life. I’m not even married but have every intention of spending my 5th wedding anniversary here it was that darn good.
The atmosphere, service and location before or after a Broadway play is excellent. The set prix 3-course menu was an excellent value (1st course, entree, dessert with many choices). However, the food was nothing special. The sauces for the veal and trout dishes were too heavy, overpowering the meat and fish. The tomatoes and mozzarella in the caprese salad were not very tasty. The tiramisu was very good - light and tasty. I have been to this restaurant several times in the past and remember the food as being better than this but maybe they are better with their pasta dishes.
This place was great. Staff were so friendly and even walked outside to help us with directions to our show. Food was excellent. Meatball appetizer was delicious! We had two pasta dishes that we both finished. We highly recommend. Staff treated us like family.
Food was delicious. We all enjoyed the price fixed lunch
Great selection of apps, entrees, and dessert.
We really enjoyed our dinner and my friends were happy I picked La Rivista to have our pre theater dinner at.
The food was phenomenal. There was a bit of waiting, even for the menu. We had more than one person serving us which was a little different, but everyone was polite and professional all throughout. Will definitely recommend. We had the steak for 2 and it was impeccable.
