La Pulperia 46th Street
La Pulperia’s “cockteleria”, has created an agave-centered list of cocktails that also offers plentiful opportunities to savor Latin spirits such as mezcal, pisco, rum, or cachaca. Sunday brunch Drag Queen Show.
Highly recommend it! Mascarpone dessert was incredible. And the black ink spaghetti is delicious.
Food was great, the service was outstanding; Hector was very helpful, nice and super accomodating. The place is small so sitting was tight. We had a great time and loved the food.
If you enjoy seafood served in an innovative and delightful style than La Pulperia should be on your must visit list. The bite-sized Lobster Taquitos are delicious. My wife and I also enjoyed the grilled octopus special and the monkfish wrapped in serrano ham. Craft cocktails to try along with sangria and a well chosen wine list. Can be a bit noisy and cramped with a crowd.
Overall, our experience was good. Went after a Sunday matinee for Mother's Day. Hector, our waiter was very genial and professional. Mom had a fresh lime margarita and we had the crudo tasting as an appetizer. One minor thing was a piece of shell in the ceviche, pretty small but it was pointed out by her when eating. For the entree I had the hanger steak with coconut rice and the potato salad, she had the moqueca mixta. We both found the rice to be a bit undercooked and hard, as opposed to the fluffy texture of rice we're used to. The crostini which came with the stew was also too hard, making the concept of bread to sop up the stew a bit difficult. The steak was also under cooked as I asked for medium and it was rare in the middle portions. That being said, the flavors were good overall. For dessert we shared the marscapone flan. The passion fruit syrup was a bit too sweet, but it complement the richness of the flan well. Lastly, Hector was a gem and gave my mom a glass of champagne for Mother's Day, a nice touch that won bonus points with us both. Seeing as it was our first time, I would be willing to go again and see if the minor things improve before recommending to a friend. I did find the prices a bit high for the quality of the food, but given the location's proximity to the Theatre District, I wasn't surprised.
Interesting cuisine with lots of fresh fish and authentic flavors. Think citrus, tuna, jalapeño, cilantro...
Standard 47th St fare. Passable but not outstanding.
Oyster Happy Hour is amazing
SO much fun at drag brunch!!! Show was excellent, food was great, cocktails delightful, service was amazing. Don't miss this, you need to reserve in advance. Ritzy Bitz and Misty Mountains were the best!
The service is amazing and so is the food. This is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. Highly recommend it.
Very hospitable and friendly atmosphere and service. Good food and a fun experience!
The staff at La Pulperia was amazing! Everyone was so attentive to our needs at all times. The lobster taquitos were to die for, as well as the moqueca mixta! Their cocktails are also all so well executed. I was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely return!
Music was on but it was low enough not to interfere with conversation, loved that we could talk without shouting.
Service was fantastic. Very thoughtful and engaging wait staff. Constantly filling our water glass
Also, they pay attention to the online bookings, i noted we were celebrating a bday and they arrived with a delicious candle-lit custard to our table.
Perfect portion if your monitoring your portion sizes.
The entrees were $35- $38 each but were very good.
Loved the place and will be going back.
Wonderful as always! Been there more than 5 times.. lobster tacos and the beef empanadas are a most! Staff is always very friendly and attentive.
The drag brunch was amazing. The sangria was delicious
Pacu fish ribs and octopus were sensational. Chocolate tres leches cake was exceptional. Very friendly staff.
Small intimate restaurant with friendly service and knowledgeable servers about gluten free issues. Hector did an outstanding job.
Celebrated my birthday after a Broadway show! Dinner was delicious, I had the branzino special, and there was tres leches cake that was amazing. 2 tequila shots on the house made it extra fun!
The food is delightful the drinks inventive and everyone who works there knows the kind of place they are a part of: a special theatre district seafood parlor. Try it!
A bit pricey the bill for two people who shares apitizer was $150
Pacu ribs are as great as I remember them from five years ago.
Attended Sunday drag brunch at 12 noon and it was a great afternoon - food was good and entertainment was great. Service was fabulous.
I took my girlfriend here on her birthday, as a pre-theater dinner. Food was good, service was great, and the location was great for the show.
Amazing specials. The drinks were very well made. Definitely get at least one seafood dish if you are here.
We went to Sunday drag brunch for my nanas 75th birthday and had an amazing time! The ladies were amazing performers and the brunch delicious. I 100% recommend their brunch.
Not only have I recommended La Pulperia already but I am planning the next meal there!
Our waiter was unbelievably attentive, recommended the best meals, and was super nice!!
The Lobster Taquitos were slammin', the Grilled Octopus was savory and delicious, and the Branzino was delectable. Now, regarding the desserts....OMG the Maracuya Flan was nothing what I expected and absolutely enjoyable and creamy. The Chocolate Tres Leches (my fave dessert) was heaven.
Bustling, cozy and dark atmosphere serving fresh seafood and great octopus. Would have liked a bit more light to see the seasoning, toppings and ingredients, but was very flavorful none the less.
Pulperia never disappoints. Delicious dinner, prompt service and romantic atmosphere. Love this place.
Delicious cocktails, wine and food. The lobster taquitos and short ribs entree are a must-taste. The short ribs were a special, and if they are on the menu, do not pass them up!
Some friends and I attended drag brunch at La Pulperia on Sunday and it was a blast! The performers were great, service was quick and attentive, and my tostadas were absolutely delicious!
Excellent. Will def be back!food and drinks were terrific! Sat at bar.. bartender was super friendly. Best salmon Ive ever eaten. Loved it!
great for pre-theatre dinner. got his barbecued octopus special was really good.
We chose this for Saturday Brunch but we couldn't find a brunch menu on line. When we arrived we were very disappointed to find that almost none of the items shown on their regular dinner menu were available for brunch and that it was mostly a usual egg type menu. We ordereda Guacamole app which was very good but quite small especially for the $14 price and then ordered Empanatas which were 2 for $9 and were probably the smallest I've ever seen, although good You probably need at least FOUR orders for two people as an app. The main course egg dish was good, but again not nearly as interesting as the items on their normal non-brunch menu.
I might come back for Dinner but not for Saturday brunch. They have a Drag brunch Sunday and maybe they do a different menu, I didn't ask. Service was pleasant and restaurant has a nautical decor.
Amazing drag brunch. Ms Ritzy Bitz is flawless
HAD THE BEST TIME!!! We went for the drag brunch at noon. Ritzy Bitz and Jacklynn Hyde were AMAZING, gorgeous, and just simply fabulous. The restaurant was smaller than anticipated yet they made use of all the space in a wonderful and comfortable atmosphere. Love the decor. Cocktails and entrees were so delicious; we had the steak and eggs, guac, lobster bake, and the eggs benedict. Everything was plated beautifully including the drinks. We had a couple of food allergies and diet restrictions that our servers and chefs were able to accommodate. Servers were exceptional. Everyone dining was having a blast and was extremely friendly. If you want to have a good time--I definitely recommend La Pulperia!!!
The service was excellent. The cocktails were meticulously made. I had an octopus platter that was on special and it was amazing. Definitely worth it for a before theater meal.
A great neighborhood pan-Latino spot. Polperia is a perfect pre theatre restaurant or for any occasion - everyday or a celebration. Food is great, service comfortable and personal, ambience low key . Terrific all around . Bar scene and bar menu rocks!
Try the fish ribs...outstanding...and so unique! Totally yum.
Great! Highly recommended!
As usual, our experience at La Pulperia was outstanding. The food was well-prepared and delicious. The service was timely and professional. The drinks were terrific. A really special restaurant where you are welcomed and treated like family.
The food was very disappointing but service friendly and helpful
