Theater district, it was great before a show. I loved the ambiance, the staff were lovely and attentive.
We split 3 appetizers and had drinks, everything was great.
The flan for dessert lifted everything to a new level, it was spectacular.
We will definitely go again.
Amazing food and amazing service. Would highly recommend.
Visited here yesterday before a show. The place is really cute inside and has a nice layout. The manager welcomed us and spoke with us and made us feel comfortable and the service was great as well. Every person working in that restaurant was kind and attentive. The cocktails were great and the food was delicious and plated nicely. I would definitely come back here and I advise anyone looking for a good option in the area to visit La Pulperia.
Sangria Braised Short Rib
Coquito Passion Cocktail
Very nice and funny staff. Seafood tower was incredible, can't say more! Went for my birthday party with some friends and had a great time.
We appreciated Lina’s excellent service. A fine staff at La Pulperia, a wide array of cocktails, and great food!
Way overpriced! Main dish looks like appetizer! Appetizer looks like a sampler.....
Don’t overlook this gem when selecting your next dinner destination. The inviting atmosphere takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Hector and his hardworking team are very attentive. The octopus protein selection with five accompaniments was perfectly cooked and flavorful and the guacamole was fresh and creamy.
Great food, great ambience. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
We had reservations for 12pm on a Saturday, before a show. The place opens at noon, but the waitress didn't show up for her shift. Needless to say, the remaining staff (bartender, busboy) waited on us, and served us perfectly. The overall experience took a little bit longer than it probably would have if the waitress was there, but these guys really pulled it together. And the food is phenomenal. The corn & cheese empanadas are fantastic.
Met my husband for dinner before a show. The host greeted me and showed me to the table where my husband was seated. Our waitress was Lina who was very knowledgeable about the menu. Watching the size of the dishes coming out from the kitchen we elected to forgo an appetizer and order our entrees. My husband had the short ribs over polenta. I had the grilled octopus with 5 sides. My husband cleaned his plate. He commented on how tender the ribs were and how much he enjoyed the polenta (something he's not often a fan of). My taste of his dish resulted in a flavorful moist mouthful of meat and the polenta was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of cheese. The grilled octopus was in the top two i've ever eaten and I love grilled octopus. It was a very generous portion (I couldn't finish it) accompanied with garlic roasted peppers, onions and I asked them to hold the tomatoes. The got my order right! When I explained I couldn't eat the eggplant side dish Lina offered to double up my broccoli rabe side. The cocktails were fresh and tasty and the wine list ample. Pulperia was a great find. We will be back!
We have been to La Pulperia many times. This was a pre-theatre dinner and this restaurant is on restaurant row. We made the reservation for 5:45 but couldn't be seated until 6:30. Luckily, one of the two outside tables was available as the noise level inside was intense. Service left a lot to be desired as the restaurant was very busy (lots of apologies for that). The food is very good though and the restaurant is worth a visit.
Wonderful food and great service.
Excellent Ceviche and Escabeche - enough for light meal before theatre
Enjoyed the food. Though the restaurant was very busy the staff ensured that we were seated comfortably and received prompt attention.
Great drinks and amazing food! Will come back for sure!!
Very good South American food. Very friendly staff. Will go back whenever in the City.
Hector is great, the whole staff is wonderful. What a great place for dinner and drinks!
I have been to all three locations and at each one the food was flavorful and delicious! Every meal has been well enjoyed. The staff is gracious and very accommodating. But you must have time to dedicate to your visit because the kitchen is always a bit on the slow side. If you have the time it is worth the trip.
This was our first time dining here. We have been trying different restaurants on Restaurant Row prior to Theater. Staff were very friendly. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Sangria was tasty. I had the grilled octopus which was tender and tasty. My companion had the grilled salmon and enjoyed it. We shared the chocolate cake tres leches. It was light and a nice end to the meal before heading to the theater. We will return.
Had SO much fun! And Ritzy Bitz is amazing
Ceviche was delicious and fresh. Served alone, chucky bites. Hanger steak was delicious and cooked just right. We enjoyed a few small plates and shared the steak. Also white sangria was spot on!
Pretty ordinary and $$ for the meal served.
Good help good drag
The food was delicious and drag brunch was a great experience!
Awesome place. Great bartenders
Tasty food although limited menu and is on the pricier side. Loved that they didn't hurry us or push ous out and we got to take our time as the place was starting to clear out and the waitstaff didnt rush us out
Amazing restaurant! What a find! Hector is AMAZING!!!
Food was excellent, especially the octopus. Service was very attentive and informative about the range of the menu and origin of the cuisine. Highly recommended.
In the vast wasteland of overrrated tourist traps on restaurant row, a nice find
Really good cocktails. Great place for a pre-theater meal.
We hade ceviche and home made ravioli, and we couldn't even finish. We don't understand how they could get good reviewes on Trip adwiser. Don't go there
Absolutely wonderful service - Food left a little to be desired as it seemed to be a hybrid of various countries but was overall good
Very friendly staff, innovative fish and seafood dishes and a great Latin American spirit
A true gem! Personal, attentive service. Everything was delicious....guacamole appetizer, the best grilled octopus outside South America, delectable salmon, all accompanied by a bold Mendoza Cab. The manager provided a birthday dessert for my husband...a delicious mascarpone passion fruit dessert!
We brought our kids, all under 18 avid RuPaul Drag race fans, to the Sunday Brunch. We had a blast. The Drag show was terrific and the service and staff all top notch. The food is good but the menu is not so much for finicky kids. A great time!
The menu was interesting but everything was poorly executed. Obviously survives on the pre theater tourist crowd.
La Pulperia was a great option for us before the theater, but seems like a nice option for any time. It feels like a cozy, fun neighborhood hang out somewhere in Latin America. It feels funny when you walk out into Times Square! Although it was crowded and most diners were in a rush to get to a show, the service was attentive. Our water glasses were always full, dirty plates taken away, second drinks were offered. Things moved quickly but we didn’t feel rushed. The ceviche was delicious, the fis ribs unique and the ravioli stuffed with crab. The lucuma ice cream was unusual and delicious!
