La P'tite Framboise Ratings and Reviews
This is my second or third poor review of La P'tite. So, my it's my own fault for continuing to come back. This time I brought two friends from out of town that were very excited for the brunch. When we placed the order, the waiter didn't write anything down. So of course, he didn't get everything right. He completely forgot to put in for the mac & cheese that we ordered as a side dish for the table. If anyone at the restaurant is reading this, PLEASE take note - NO ONE is impressed if the waiter can remember the entire order. Instead, everyone gets upset when something is wrong with the order, especially when the waiter had the opportunity to write it down and get it correct. This is extremely disappointing and embarrassing. Also, when we were dining, there we only two other tables occupied in the entire restaurant yet there was no waitstaff keeping an eye out for requests from the tables. I had to wait quite awhile to get a refill of my water and I had to ask two separate people before it finally came. Please - keep in mind that all diners can cook their own food, they go out to eat for the service.
We were there quite early on a Saturday night and the restaurant was jammed. The noise level was deafening and it was almost impossible to hold a conversation. The tables were very close together. The servers were largely inattentive. I think that asking for bread 3 times is unacceptable. The restaurant would not accept a coupon because just one of the four of us had the prix fixe. We had the mussels, which were quite good, but we will think long and hard about ever returning.
Went on a Saturday night during long island restaurant week, 6 diners, 3 of us ordered the hanger steak from the price fix menu ($28). After sitting down at the table at 6:30pm, we weren't served our dinner until 7:50pm! The 3 hanger steak dinners were very tough and when we complained, the waitress said she would mention it the chef. When we complained again, the surly manager said hanger steak is hard to prepare and then grudgingly decided to take a whopping $12 off a $380 bill. We should have sent the steak back, but we were so hungry by that point. We live local and will never return.
Fell upon restaurant week which was lucky. We had the salad to start which was lovely. The fish and chicken were cooked perfectly. The profiterole was my favorite. The creme brulee lacked the crunch I like for the caramelized sugar The waitstaff was overburdened but on top of their game. Will certainly return to try other things on the menu
Great service, excellent food. Port Washington Restaurant Week was a surprise. So restaurant was overly crowded and noisy for a weeknight meal with friend. Wanted a quiet b-day celebration. Oh, well! There is nothing in the restaurant to absorb sound. Charming waiter who made us laugh and feel very welcome.
I dined w/ my 5 yr granddaughter & dtr. they were very accommodating. i ordered french onion soup to start. absolutely delicious. followed w/ steak w/ garlic mashed potatoes. also yummy. ending w/ Creme Brûlée just perfect. even as busy as they were we didn't wait for anything everything was served with care & timely. chicken & pasta also very good
I consider myself a food snob because I’ve been eating out in find restaurants for 60 years. Many Long Island restaurants don’t compare in food quality, presentation and service to the more sophisticated New York City scene. This is the third Port Washington restaurant that exceeds my expectations. I’m very happy I finally found La Petite Frambois.
Dinner was delicious. 2 couples went and all our main dishes were perfect Only problem is the noise level. I would go during the week when it is less crowded and less noisy. Friday night was terribly noisy. We asked the manager to move our seats and he graciously did which helped a little.
Went for Sunday Brunch at 1:00. Waited 20 minutes until our order was taken, then waited another hour for our food. When I asked them, they told me that the Steak Tartare takes 25 minutes. But that was not the only thing we ordered and still it took an hour. The one cheeseburger that was ordered had the wrong cheese on it. We told the waiter and he looked and said he put it in correctly on the order so it was the kitchen's mistake, not his. He then walked away without offering to correct the error. I asked if the restaurant is under new ownership and was told NO, just new management. It was never this bad before. Will not go back again.
this restaurant will not be long for Port Washington. Waitress was new / nervous / annoying. Bartender kept flipping off the first Yankees baseball playoff game to put on the Rangers hockey game, after i said something 3 times to just leave the game. Tuna tartare was cut with tomato pieces to make it look larger. Half the mussels were empty.
This was our first visit to Le P'tite Framboise and it quickly became our new favorite restaurant. Not cheap, but worth every penny. The food was excellent and the service was competent, efficient and unobtrusive. The menu options were great and it was hard to choose. There wasn't one thing I could say negatively. We loved it.
a neighborhood favorite of ours.
food and service are usually quite good, at times exceptional.
bread, pate, olives and cheese are a welcome gift.
this time, one patron was overly loud at the bar, but it was friday night, so not unexpected.
not one draft beer from menu was available, just a single wheat beer. we come for the beer!
chicken sandwich was overdone this time, but no one is perfect, huh?
Amazing food, very reasonable prices, authentic French bistro style interior. Brings me back to Paris every time I'm in there. I've tried the Steak Frites, Shrimp/Scallops, Lobster Mac & Cheese (epic), Goat Cheese Tart (get it every time), Creme Brulee - all delicious and expertly prepared.
La P'tite Framboise is always a delicious and cozy meal. The seafood pasta was delicious! I always love the cheese/olives at the bar and then the bread/pate/butter at the table. It is fun to get there early and have a snack/drink prior to sitting. We had a wonderful booth where we could have a double date with dear friends, great conversation and enjoy our meal and drinks in semi privacy.
The Monday muscle special is a great value and is quite good $25 for a large bowl of muscles in many different sauces; nice portion of French fries served is a cone shaped holder plus delicious French bagettes for dipping in the muscle sauce with a glass of wine. We also had as a starter 6 escargot and a duck leg salad. Quite good over all. Got a bit noisy as the restaurant got to capacity.
My husband and I have been going to this restaurant since they've opened. We have never had a bad meal and the service is always fantastic. Great place for date night or catching up with friends. Cannot say one bad thing about this restaurant. If you like a cozy atmosphere and enjoy authentic French cuisine then you need to check this place out!
