Chef prepared a Three Course Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner that was DELIGHTFUL !!! Table by the fire, a couple of bottles of wonderful wine to share with family ... WONDERFUL service ... a PERFECT evening! We LOVE this place!!
Pleasantly surprised at this find off the beaten track ... we are from the Bay area and we enjoyed what we ordered from the escargots to the filet. My husband like the onion soup and the green salad I had was dressed just right ... even shared 1/3 with my husband. A bottle of Cote du Rhone wine was reasonably priced. We enjoyed the live, jazzy music. Our server, Andrea, was very attentive. We will return when we are back in the Sacramento area.
We came for the St. Patty’s Day special-corned beef and cabbage. I was not disappointed. The corned beef was fall-apart tender and everything that came with the pre fixe was delicious. I am never disappointed when dining at La Provence. My husband and I come here for just about every special event and always enjoy our meal. Thank you Chef Rod and your amazing kitchen staff. And thank you to all the FOH staff too!
Lovely restaurant. Food was good and pricing appropriate. Service somewhat lacking - asked for water twice before our glasses were refilled and two of five orders were incorrect.
I was very please with everything! La Provence was the perfect place to bring out of town family. We asked for and received the table we requested, and the staff was helpful to my blind companions. The food and service was delightful. We came for and early lunch and love that we can chose between breakfast and lunch items off your menu. Stepping inside your beautiful restaurant is like a trip to France.
Overall great experience. The service has been slow in the past, but this was not the case this time around. Waiter was very professional, but didnt tell us his name for some reason....no biggie.
Everything was fabulous but the waiter seemed like he wanted to be both our best friend yet intrusive and a bit confrontational with our requests...like for a new tea cup for one that was broken. Everything from appetizers to main course was treated as if we were going to share it all even when we had made clear our orders were for ourselves. Early in the meal when he came to take drink orders. My wife wanted hot tea and I was staying with water but would like a glass of wine with dinner. I was never given he chance to order it nor did he ‘remember’ to stop by and ask. The final shot at us was when he literally threw the bill with the credit card slip for me to sign on the table and walked away simply saying ‘thank you’ when he was almost out of earshot range.
My wife and I do love this restaurant and we both hope it continues to succeed. Our server was the only hiccup in an other wise incredible birthday dinner for my wife.
We dine at LaProvence often. Dinner was exceptionally good tonight and so was service. Seems to be getting better and better lately. Thank you!
Service was attentive, not as polished as it should be but not too bad. The section of the restaurant we sat in was empty but the hostess seated us, a party of two, at a tight two person table. Two more parties of two came after us and got 4 top tables. It never got busy so not sure why we got stuck on a small table top. Food ok, menu could be larger. Loved wine Wednesday, when every bottle of wine is half off.
La Provence is one of my husband and my favorite restaurants. The food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is superb, the service is outstanding.
I've recently moved to Sun City Roseville. My special occasion was treating my brothers because they showed up for the weekend to help me fix my drip system and plant my herb garden and other "stuff." My younger brother is 78. My older brother and I are 81 and 79. It's amazing what two old guys and their sister can accomplish!
Unfortunately my Bistro Steak was chewy. I should have expected it, but I thought it was a filet and instead I'm pretty sure it was a sirloin. I've bought the prime sirloin at Costco and it's very tender. Anyway, the flavor was great and I did eat half of it. Our server was attentive...the wine was quite good. We had a bottle of Chardonnay and one of Cab.
The evening was pretty noisy as there were several birthday parties going on and one "turning 21" party, but I enjoy seeing people having a good time. I think your restaurant is superb.
It was our first visit and everything was absolutely wonderful
Great setting with high beamed ceilings and a welcoming, warm fire. In Spring & Summer the outdoor seating is so very French. The food is always creative and delicious. The staff is welcoming and attentive. We love this place!
We frequent this establishment. They never cease to amaze us with the ever changing menu and dinner specials. The service, atmosphere and food is second to none!
Thank you La Provence for your continued efforts to always improve and create new dinner plate options. You are all awesome as is the food!
Exceeded expectations! My girlfriend and I came for dinner to celebrate out birthdays - not only did the hostess give us special wishes - but so did our server. Our table was in a lovely quiet area, with a great view of the fireplace. Our server Ray, was outstanding. Attentive, charming and knowledgeable - he treated us like we were VIP guests. Wonderful menu (Beef Wellington!) , delicious cocktails, and yummy desserts.
Treat yourself or a special person to this terrific place - elegant, warm, and amazing!
The steak was tough. I've had much much better at Tahoe Joe's. The service was okay, nothing outstanding. The wine list was extensive. I had the Bedrock Old Vine 2015 zinfandel. It was excellent.
The beef Wellington was the best meal I've ever had, period. Go there just for that and you won't be disappointed.
Never have I been at a French restaurant for a 3 course meal in under an hour!! That is so NOT French!!! How is it possible that all the food came within 5 minutes of each other? The escargot was so-so, beet salad was good, French onion soup was salty, salmon was overcooked, the pasta that came with it was tasteless and soggy, lamb shank was ok and so was the Petit Chateau. Instead of garlic mashed potato, it should be called butter mashed potatoes. The presentation needs major improvement. Although it was not busy, service was lacking. Our waitress didn't ask us how everything was, so when the bus boy came to clear the table, we notified him of our thoughts of the food. Then when our waitress came, we told her. She was nice enough to have the French onion and the salmon taken off from the check. It was a huge disappointment necause it took us 90 minutes to get there and to be done with our meal in under an hour was NOT worth the drive!
What a wonderful place. WE haven't been here in a while and i must say it's a pleasure t return. I had the short ribs and my guests had the beef Wellington and Salmon. All was cooked perfectly. Nive service, nice wine list, nice atmosphere.
Overall excellent; however, the veggies were a bit oily.
La Provance is consistently good. Excellent service, delicious food, and great atmosphere. We love coming here.
The best dinner we've had in a long time. The Beef Wellington was truly outstanding. We can't wait to go back.
My wife and I went on Saturday at 7 for a nice dinner to celebrate her birthday. We were seated right away. We got a nice wrap around 2 person booth where we could sit next to each other. The servers were great. Our food was pretty darn good (maybe a tad salty). The bread was fresh. My wife had the 9 oz steak and it was good and I enjoyed my salmon (though it was just a touch fishy so not super fresh). We very much enjoyed our meal. My only knock would be that it's surprisingly noisy in there. They had a live musician playing the keyboard but somehow the conversations from other tables wrap around the room and it can be heard to hear at times, even sitting right next to each other.
We'd go back, and we'd probably order exactly the same thing ;) Our total out the door was $70. All we ordered were the entrees, we'd already had our drinks and dessert earlier in the day ;)
My two children and a friend dined here recently. The service was flawless and the food was beyond expectation. The amuse bouche was a lovely treat, a little duck sausage with cranberry sauce. We started with several small plates (smoked salmon, lobster risotto, artichoke with sunchips and french onion soup). I had the Chef's special (swordfish with cilantro rice and a Thai sauce) it was amazing! My friend had the short-ribs and stated how glad she was to be able to get food of this quality without driving to the Bay Area (where she is from). The kid's menu was a great value and the service staff were very kind and attentive, making my little ones feel right at home. We will be back again and again!
We all had sandwiches (the Monaco). The rolls used for the sandwiches had obviously been taken out of the refrigerator and were cold and hard. They weren’t soft and fresh like most sandwiches rolls are served. When we received our salads, they had almost no dressing on them. Three of us had to ask for more dressing. My husband had blue cheese and he had a nice amount of dressing on his salad. The food was very disappointing. On a better note, the server and his helper were very nice.
excellent food and service. Had a very nice round table for 8 next to fire place on chilly evening.
Pretty good vegetarian options. I would recommend the spinach artichoke fondue - it has an amazing smokey flavor. Other favorites are the brussel sprouts from small plates and gnocchi from main plates. Their desserts are to die for - the creme brulee is the best I've tried so far and the hazelnut bomb was so delicious. Dont miss the desserts!
First time trying this restaurant. We will definitely be back. So many yummy options.
I've eaten here many times. Love to take friends and family for special occasion celebrations. Food is good and they have friendly staff.
La Provence is a petty restaurant. Service this time was outstanding. We always have a nice meal.
Our lunch was delicious and the service was very attentive. The staff were very accommodating to one member of our party who uses a scooter, making sure we were comfortable with the table we selected. (And yes, we really love sitting by the fireplace.)
It was a nice restaurant, but we have been to much better "French" restaurants. The ambiance was not super romantic for Valentine's day. Not bad but not super...a solid good.
Or waiter, Brant, is usually a bartender and made our experience special. Well done!
Valentines Day dinner, restaurant was very busy, but everything was great
This was my 2nd time to lunch . . . . First was so spectacular that I booked Valentine's Day with my Mom and daughter. It was busy and if we did not have the manager help us it would have been worse . . . our server was just not on . .slow with the cocktails and did not take our food order for one hour! Once the food arrived it was great . . .so delicious!
We always enjoy La Provence. Atmosphere is warm and even romantic. Went for Valentine's Day lunch yesterday with my wife. Service was excellent as was the food. While the restaurant was busy, we still felt like we had some intimacy in our setting. Thanks La Provence. You can bet we'll be back over and over.
We had a very nice Valentine's lunch! We were able to relax and enjoy the excellent service and food. Highly recommend! We will return soon.
We arrived early and were seated promptly, which was good because it was Valentines Day and I knew it would get busy. The service was good, although it lagged near the end of our stay due to the sheer volume of customers—so no surprise there. The food was very good and I appreciated that they had both a holiday menu and their regular fare to choose from. Overall I thought they did a marvelous job and we were pleased with our experience.
Enjoyed everything from start to fi ish. Ray, the waiter, was helpful and understanding when we asked for a certain wine, and it was out of stock.
Food was good, not great. Tables for two are too small. Prices are getting too high.
