We had a wonderful birthday dinner with a friend. We each had a different entree and we were all very happy with our choices. I had the price fixed dinner and that’s a bargain. Salad, entree and desert , you can’t beat it and then of course it’s the French bread and butter, wonderful!
Love the ambiance. It’s lovely
Food, service, & ambience are always great!
Loved the food. Bread pudding so delicious from a customer who rarely orders dessert.
Service worst experience
im years. Too
Much went wrong to describe. Want to forget the service experience forever.
It was my birthday. La Provence proved, once again, the best choice to celebrate. The food is always good but this meal proved outstanding. The yellow beet soup was extraordinary. Thank you ever so much for a wonderful dining experience.
Its a French restaurant nestled in a smqll neighborhood within Roseville. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the drinks strong. It had a very warm atmosphere, like a meal at a friend's house. While its not a negative, my wife and I were celebrating our 19th year anniversary, and we were the youngest guests. Provence serves classic French dishes and does so very well, the beef wellington is amazing.
The service was very slow and the food was not that good. They kept bringing the wrong dish and the entree was incomplete where the waiter had to go back to the kitchen. Last time when we dined here it was very good, so we returned.
Had dinner to celebrate a birthday. The service was very good and the food was outstanding. Great place for celebrating an event.
I’m from out of town and every time I’m in town I try to make it with my step mother. The food is great and the ambience is also nice.
My wife had the bassa and a beet salad. Both excellent. I had Wellington and apple salad. Salad was excellent but the wellington although cooked perfectly lacked flavor as most fillets do. The sauce could have rescued but did not.
The provencal martini was perfect.
Excellent! Beautiful setting on patio. Wonderful service and food.
The food was okay but nothing special and on the expensive side. The service was excellent as usual. There aren’t many restaurants in this area so we are repeat customers. Nothing was terrible or really good.
As always food is a mixed bag. Prime Rib was good but gnocchi was mushy and had a strange taste. Wish this restaurant could get its act together. Nice setting but food often disappoints.
We had reservations but still had to wait over 10 minutes for a table. There were many tables available but only one hostess that has to make a coffee to go in the bakery area:( I was with my 90 year old mother.
The food was not what it has been previously.
The service was OK. The waitress took the orders from the ladies first as is custom, but the server, served whoever's plate he picked up.
Food and service was outstanding as usual. Great place to celebrate our 31st Anniversary. Will be back for our holiday celebrations.
Not on a Saturday night. The music was way; too loud.
Not enough choices on the menu for my guests. Two dishes they ordered were not successful. The lamb, and parchment salmon.
We have given this place a try a couple times with disappointment. The last time we just walked out because we were ignored at the front desk. This time the service was slow and food was sub-par. My husband and I left wishing we went somewhere else. Won't be back again.
We really enjoyed the new vegetarian eggs benedict, however, we do miss the smoked salmon ones. We tried the new smoked salmon omelet, but it was not as delicious, although it was good.
Great place. Went for first time with family, for Saturday brunch when opened at 9:30AM. Very quiet, nice table with view, food great. Will go again.
The food was excellent as always and the waitress, who had a lot of tables, provided great service.
My mother’s birthday.
The food was excellent!
Our server, Kenneth, was wonderful!
Loved our experience!
Gracious, attentive staff and fabulous food.
Food was very good.. Our server was great. For the amount of people in the restaurant, it took way to long for our food to come out. The server said the kitchen was a little backed up but that amount of people there didn’t justify that response. The lightning inside needs to improve because you should never have to use the light on your phone to read the menu. Looking around, the majority of the tables were using phone lights to read.
The lobster mac and cheese was fabulous. The scallops were a little underdone and pork belly was a little over done. Salad was lovely. Perfect lemon drop. The setting is always beautiful.
My son wanted his b-day dinner here really nice place
Service was slow. Onion soup was good. Half turkey sandwich was more than enough.
The service was slow. The special for the weekend was sea bass. It looked thin like red snapper and was badly overcooked. The large serving of gnocchi was small. The waitress was largely inattentive. This is the 3rd time we’ve been disappointed with our dining at La Provence.
Ambience was terrific - very romantic. Service was acceptable, but nothing special. Some of the food was great - polenta with vegetables and the fondue - but the steak oscar was poor (steak was chewy and lobster was a little tough (overcooked?) and bland. And $55.00 to boot.
I would go back now that I know what to order and if I want a very nice atmosphere. But if someone is reading this trying to decide whether to go or not, I would put some effort into finding out what food they do well and what they don't.
We have been to La Provence a number of times and never have never had a bad meal but last Saturday was exceptional . I had the scallops which were some of the best I have ever had and my husband had the halibut which he said was really good . Our waitress was very friendly and services was good even though it was busy. Can't wait to go again.
Lovely setting. Mediocre food.
I had been there about two years ago with same conclusion. Hoped the food would be better this time.
Would not go back but would recommend it for someone wanting a nice setting , particularly the outdoors during nice weather.
Best beef wellington I've had in years period. The Caesar salad needs a little help.
Great food and service! Wether you are going to have some of the menu favorites or try one of the weekly specials, you will never be disappointed. Thank you La Provence for making our dining experience awesome!
Food was great and the portions were spot on. What we didn’t like was upcharges that we’re not mentioned by our server. I ordered a Ketel One martini with bleu cheese-stuffed olives as an option. The martini was charged as $10 with an extra $3.50 for a “double.” I didn’t request a double, but the real surprise was an additional $3.75 for the three olives. Wow! $1.25 per olive. No mention by the server that these were extra, or that the Ketel One would be charged as a double. we also were charged for our dessert, which was supposed to be gratis because we were celebrating our anniversary. Unfortunately I didn’t discover these charges until I checked the receipt the next morning. Enjoy the food and atmosphere, but check your bill carefully.
Great place. Classy.
Dress up a little so you don’t feel underdressed.
Gnocchi was excellent, pork belly was all fat and NO flavor. Patio seating was nice.
The food and service was outstanding as always. The special was very creative and tasty.
I used to book La Provence for my group of Ladies, over the years from 2010, we always enjoyed,
until 5 years ago the food went downhill badly, was looking forward to Wed to check out the
Restaurant again. Sad to say the Restaurant looked great , it was very quiet compared to
a few years ago, but we were all dissappointed , my chicken was hard the Garlic Potatoes were
grey and sloppy, green beans okay.
Two had large Salads but did not enjoy, such a shame for such a lovely ambience
I miss what it once was
This place is always great food and service! They have good specials all the time and a prie fix menu with great options at a great price. Lovely ambiance. Outdoor seating in a peaceful setting too. Very highly recommended!
