Food took forever. One meal cold. Seems like they forgot to put our order in. Lipstick on wine glass. Waiter argued with one in our party. Waiter rude.
We like this place and will be back. Won’t let one bad experience keep us away.
Food, service, and ambience are always outstanding!
Lovely seat by the fire place. Great dining experience
Yum! Our second time here, and it did not disappoint! Requested seating in the back and was promptly seated, where our view of the fireplace on a cold rainy night was sure to make us comfortable! We ordered a bottle of wine, from the selection that was excellent and remembering that Wednesday is half price bottles of wine we were very pleased! Our server Tayler, was efficient and happy, as well as all of the staff that assisted us! Our dinner was excellent, I had the Salmon Papillote, and my wife the special Airliner Chicken Breast, which both were excellent, though she agreed, I had the winning dish! For desert, the Profiterole was very good and we were graced with an order of Creme Brulee, that is second to none! I highly recommend La Provence and will be returning for an evening of good food and great ambiance!
I made resv. for 4 on Dec. 10 th, to celebrate my friends BD on the 10th and mine on the 9th. The hostess mentioned we were there for birthdays, we also mentioned birthdays, no comment from the waiter, we brought our own 2 bottles of wine, paid the $20 corkage fees, which we knew before going. The waiter was ok, didn’t quite listen, to us. Brought the bills, never ask if we wanted coffee, or even thank you for coming in. The bread puddings,we ordered was dry, decent flavor, but over cooked.
We all agreed we will not be back, sorry we didn’t use our $250.00 and go elsewhere. Jo Hole
The service was outstanding. I believe our server was Ken? Or Kenny? He was very attentive, informative and knowledgeable. However, his great service could not make up for the food. There were four of us for dinner. One person sent theirs back because it was so bad, and so over salted. Another one said that his food very salty as well, and it was a different dish. I have been to La Provence many times since it opened a number of years ago. It was once pretty good. However, it has had so many chefs come and go and the food has been so consistently mediocre, at best, for so long, that I am now wondering how it stays open. I will give it credit for the excellent waiter we had and the lovely ambiance, but I do not recommend that you go for the food.
This was an excellent restaurant. There were six of us and we all found something we loved. Especially good were the brussell sprouts, clam chowder and lasagna. Not only that, but it was a cold wintry night and we got to sit near the fire and absorb the heat. A very enjoyable evening!
Not good service at the bar on Thanksgiving. Only one bartender was working at the bar and he was not prepared to have eating customers at the bar. He was friendly but I had to repeatedly ask him for basic things like silverware, and ordering a drink. He was too busy with other drink orders to give me good service. Annoying that they charged 18% tip for below average service.
This was our 2nd dinner in the past year at La Provence, and it just didn't measure up. It was Thanksgiving, so we expected some less than spectacular results, and it was a buffet, so again, perhaps a little lower standard was in order. But the pasta had been sitting in the warming trays a bit too long, the vegetables were cold (weren't supposed to be warm apparently), and the individual desserts were terrible. The vegetables that were warm (green beans) were tough, perhaps because of being under cooked (?). And the stuffing stuck together to the point of being difficult to serve out of the warming tray. Staff was friendly, even though I had to ask twice for a knife, which our waitress efficiently took with my plate each time. Not their best show, and it was expensive. Not to mention an 18% gratuity automatically included for the 2 of us. We won't make the mistake of going again for a holiday buffet.
It was the most ill prepared buffet we have ever attended. I would compare it to hospital food. There was nothing appealing about it.
La Provence was an excellent choice for a delicious, stress-free Thanksgiving dinner.
We went for Thanksgiving lunch around 2 o'clock in the afternoon. We got seated no problem. It was a buffet for Thanksgiving so we were greeted at our table and ordered our cocktails then went to the buffet. By the time we came back our drinks were at the table and we began to eat. The food was just OK. The Turkey was very very dry and the cornbread stuffing was very dry, the prime rib was pretty good with the horse radish sour cream. The mashed potatoes according to my husband were OK to. Some of the grilled vegetables were good except for the brocolli and green beans were rubbery seemed like they had been microwaved. The squash soup was very tasty. The salmon was overcooked, dry and inedible. The dessert bar had many different varieties of sweets, all of which were OK, not housemaid though. We will not return.
Had I known ahead that I was going to be eating in a tent like setting, at this high end restaurant, with plastic walls, gravel floor, and the sun glaring in my face requiring sun glasses, not to mention it being cold resulting in cold food, I would never have chosen La Provance for this Expensive meal. Very Disapointed !
I went to dine at La Provence for Thanksgiving. The food, service, and ambiance was wonderful. I’m looking forward to dining there in the near future. I highly recommend this restaurant.
They brought our food out too early. And even though they said the food was for another table we saw them go back into the kitchen with it and think they reheated it. It tasted like yesterday’s dinner. My wives chicken was over cooked. Our server was good at first but then fell below par. It was half off wine and she gave us a bill with full price glad I caught that and when she brought the bill back it was wrong again. Not sure if we will return.
Food was wonderful, personally think it's worth the price. Our service was not good though, not checked on after food was delivered, took a very long time after we were done eating to order dessert. The tables on both sides of us had a different server and she was very attentive and checked on then frequently. I wish we had been seated elsewhere.
Have eaten at La Provence many, many times. The noise level was exceptionally high on Saturday and had to ask our guests to repeat several times. In addition, the broccolini was barely cooked - tasted almost raw. This was a disappointing evening since we had taken friends to dinner. The service was excellent at usual. Kudos to chef for salmon.
We love La Provence! With that said, our last visit was a bit disappointing in the food category.
The Salmon was a little under cooked and watery, the steak was chewy and the caesar salad was
tasteless. We were so surprised that it just didn't seem up to it's usual high standards. We will
try again and hope this was just a one time experience.
Was an excellent brunch but the potatoes were a little well done. Still we enjoyed our time there. La Provence is a favorite restaurant for us.
After being shown to a “poor” table (there was no one else in the room) we were seated in the main dining room and the rest of the evening was perfect.
This is a warm charming special restaurant. It is a wonderful place to celebrate friendship and special events. Everything about this place is fabulous. The food is wonderfully prepared from a robust menu. Service is wonderful and the servers are knowledgeable and efficient. From the moment you step inside you will be so thrilled you chose this enchanted place.
Dined at La Provence on two separate occasions. Food was very, very good. French classics done right. We had coq au vin, salmon an papillote, lamb shank and short ribs. Creme brulee and brown sugar persimmon croissant bread pudding for dessert. Servers were efficient and friendly and our bartender was great. The only downside was we had to wait to get seated 15-20 minutes past our reservation. Highly recommend.
Food and service were superb. Noise level very high
Great dinner for our anniversary. They had live music and we were very close to the musicians. I was surprised that I was able to still have a good conversation without being overwhelmed by the sounds. Dinner came out fast and our server and bread/water person was very attentive. We enjoyed our meal and the creme brulee for dessert. Thank you very much
First time dining La Provence and I can’t believe I have missed out on this restaurant for so long...just delightful all the way around!
The best place to bring friends for a nice lunch or dinner. Great service, great food, and great ambiance!
We had a wonderful birthday dinner with a friend. We each had a different entree and we were all very happy with our choices. I had the price fixed dinner and that’s a bargain. Salad, entree and desert , you can’t beat it and then of course it’s the French bread and butter, wonderful!
Love the ambiance. It’s lovely
Food, service, & ambience are always great!
Loved the food. Bread pudding so delicious from a customer who rarely orders dessert.
Service worst experience
im years. Too
Much went wrong to describe. Want to forget the service experience forever.
It was my birthday. La Provence proved, once again, the best choice to celebrate. The food is always good but this meal proved outstanding. The yellow beet soup was extraordinary. Thank you ever so much for a wonderful dining experience.
Its a French restaurant nestled in a smqll neighborhood within Roseville. The food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the drinks strong. It had a very warm atmosphere, like a meal at a friend's house. While its not a negative, my wife and I were celebrating our 19th year anniversary, and we were the youngest guests. Provence serves classic French dishes and does so very well, the beef wellington is amazing.
The service was very slow and the food was not that good. They kept bringing the wrong dish and the entree was incomplete where the waiter had to go back to the kitchen. Last time when we dined here it was very good, so we returned.
Had dinner to celebrate a birthday. The service was very good and the food was outstanding. Great place for celebrating an event.
I’m from out of town and every time I’m in town I try to make it with my step mother. The food is great and the ambience is also nice.
My wife had the bassa and a beet salad. Both excellent. I had Wellington and apple salad. Salad was excellent but the wellington although cooked perfectly lacked flavor as most fillets do. The sauce could have rescued but did not.
The provencal martini was perfect.
Excellent! Beautiful setting on patio. Wonderful service and food.
The food was okay but nothing special and on the expensive side. The service was excellent as usual. There aren’t many restaurants in this area so we are repeat customers. Nothing was terrible or really good.
