LA Prime at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful dinner. We ordered the lobster bisque for starters, then lamb chops and a porterhouse with baked potato for entrees. We finished with the chocolate mousse for dessert. All of our food was delicious!! We were disappointed that there weren’t options for Syrah on the wine list but we still found good wines. The scenic views and ambiance are amazing; not to be missed!
The steak was the best I've ever had. The mushrooms were delicious and better than most steakhouses. The services was great. The bread is so good at the start of the meal. The level bread especially. The service was great. They recorded a wine that was of the menu but very flavorful. They forgot our appetizer and comped it for the mistake. It was escargot. My first time having so I'm no expert. It was okay. Salty and buttery but finishes with a earthy tone. I recommend eating with the bread. Great dining overall. I recommend arriving early and going to the downstairs rotating bar or get a night cap after dinner there.
We had not been here before, but had dinner before a show at the music center. A travelzoo voucher brought us in. The food was very good and service was great. Nice view from the roof. My wife had the sea bass and I had a filet. Both were perfectly cooked and flavorful. One note to the hotel, whoever thought it was a good idea to put a R&B band in the lobby is crazy. Way too loud for the environment.
i took my girlfriend out here for dinner for her birthday. the experience was incredible. The food was amazing, so was the view. the waiters there are so friendly and provide amazing service for us customers. this was an unforgettable night for both my girlfriend and it.
I just want to start off by saying I love coming to LA Prime the staff is amazing from when you check in at the front desk to when you are seated. I must say our server Norma was amazing she was so polite and outgoing and if I might add made some great recommendations of dishes she made our experience wonderful would definitely be going back and recommend LA Prime.
We had lobster bisque soup (with plenty of lobster chunks), shrimp cocktail with the largest shrimp I have ever seen cooked and chilled to perfection. Refreshing salad, and an 8oz. center cut prime filet that was the tastiest moist tender I have ever had. And I have had the best in Kansas, Chicago, etc. and they do not compare! We finished with chocolate mousse that was absolutely scrumptious.
We went here for a date night with my beautiful wife. I purchased the Travelzoo deal. Let me tell you the food was amazing. We had oysters Rockefeller and pork belly as appetizers, both were very good. Next course salad, very good. The entire we picked was the filet mignon, WOW was amazing, cooked to perfection. I had it Oscar style with crab well worth it. Last course dessert i had a flambe strawberry dish it was just ok for me, my wife got the banana creme brulee that was very good.
The view was beautiful. Overall well worth it, even with the horrible LA traffic.
After dinner we had a good after dinner drink at the revolving lounge. All very worthwhile
We started in the lounge below with drinks and appetizers. This lounge rotates to view all of Downtown LA. It takes about an hour. The lights and view are amazing. We then went upstairs for dinner. It is a great steakhouse. I had the New York strip and my wife had the salmon. Both were really good. The Head Chef even came by to be sure the food was not just good but excellent and it was. We went for our 37th wedding anniversary and it was worth it .
This was our second visit to LA Prime. We had a very good experience our first time.
After traveling 90 minutes we arrived to LA Prime before our reservation time to see a posted sign informing patrons that the restaurant air conditioning was out of service. It was a hot day in Los Angeles, and my guests and I were uncomfortable with the room temperature. LA Prime didn't offer a complimentary cocktail or any concession for the lack of AC and uncomfortable setting. I expect to be called and informed that a restaurant's system is out of service and given the opportunity to cancel or reschedule, before I arrive. Disappointing!
The View is the main attraction. The day we arrived the Restaurants A/C was out, so it was pretty warm and muggy. They never really apologized or went out of their way to see about rescheduling or gave us any kind of special service. The right thing to do was to close for the night, but they didn't want to loose $$$. My wife and I drive an hour to get there to celebrate her Birthday so we would have appreciated if they called in advance to let us know, if there was time of course. We toughed it out since we drove all that way, but as the night went on it go so hot we had to eat as quick as possible and leave. The service was fair not great not bad. The food was pretty good, the view was beautiful but we could not enjoy it since we were very uncomfortable.
