Great Service! Food was terrific! Steak was cooked to temperature and sides are Great!
Great food. Breath taking views. Great attentive service.
Bread was stale. My vegetable side dish was cold and mushy. Steak and shrimp was good. Disappointing for the price.
Blake was our server and he went above and beyond!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary and I was looking for a place in downtown LA. The food was excellent, my steak was cooked to perfection, and the ambiance was perfect. We had an amazing time.
The service was outstanding! The food was ok- not impressive. The view was nice but I wish they had would have sit us in front of the windows, there was nobody there . We still got a good view! It was nice.
The staff were kind of courteous. The grade of my clients kindly and with enthusiasm. The food was absolutely amazing.
My daughter and I are in town for the IMTA convention and met up with my sister and mom who live nearby. This was the most amazing night and best experience! The food was incredible but it was our server Norma who made our night over-the-top special. She has a passion for her work and it shows! She recommended the perfect wine to go with our steaks (which were incredibly tender!) and even brought out a dessert after the meal to further compliment the wine. But it was her true caring nature and commitment to great service that knocked our socks off! I wish that we lived in the area so we could come back and see Norma again. We will always remember her and our time together at LA Prime, a truly classy restaurant. Cheers!
I read the reviews before I went so my expectations weren’t that high. I mean how can you mess up a ceaser salad or bread or soup? They did. It was bad, too bad to eat. My daughter got blackened chicken put on her salad. They precook all the chicken prior to opening their doors. Needless to say it was dry and not eatable. The lobster bisque was awful. The bread they started dinner off with was cold, stale and store bought. And the compote they served with the bread was disgusting. Bar food is better than this was. The chef should be fired. The waiter offered to comp the uneaten salad, but we just paid and left. There was nothing worth coming to this restaurant for.
Excellent all around!!!
New Year’s Eve
Service was horrible. Menu was a special menus due to NY. Didn’t know that because when you call you can never get thru. Complained about our waitress and received a 10% discount, but had to pay 18% gratuity for service that was awful.
Norma provided excellent service, and details about the restaurant and the downtown area. The New Year’s fair was delicious!
Way to expensive . Had dinner here NYE reservation for 4 at 545pm . The service was excepcional . But the food was not worth the $150 pp we paid . I had the prime rip which came with 3 tiny barely there potatoe wedges . The prime rib is supposed to be what they are known for and 25% of it was FAT! The menu was basically chosen for us which I did not like . Overall the service was great but I wouldn’t go back there When I can go to Fleming’s and spend the same thing I spent there and have a fat free steak w an actual side dish for way less than what I paid here . Overrated .
Food was fair. Worst lobster bisque . Looked like dirty seafood broth. Sent it back
The experience of the location and views is worth a recommendation.
This was by far the worst Birthday dinner. I originally had a reservation for 14. The day of the reservation the host called me confirm. I then raised it to 16. It ultimately ended up being 18 of us. Which meant they had to add an additional table. The restaurant was half empty. Yet, they acted as if we were inconveniencing them. The manager Molly was rude and obtuse. Telling us that for a party of 15+ they usually do a contract, to ensure a minimum of $100 person is spent if people don't show. Her tone was very condescending, she even made a remark as if we couldn't afford it. When in fact my husband and I, plus five other couples in my party were guest at the hotel for the night. We are foodies and we eat at high end restaurants all over the city. They tried to make up for BS by sending me a bottle of low end champagne. The food was subpar and overly priced. Needless to say, we will never return.
Breathtaking views of LA skyline from 35 stories up. The ribeye steak was outstanding!
Our favorite restaurant , very surprise because it’s inside the hotel . Food is great ,service is excellent ,
Beautiful view from the top floor of the hotel. What
Not to like. We have been eaten there so many times and were never disappointed .
This was a nice Christmas Eve dinner with my wife and a few friends. The staff was professional and attentive. Great atmosphere, and wonderful food.
We were at LA Prime for my Christmas birthday, and on my recommendation, friends and I are going to LA Prime for their new year's eve birthday.
Surf and Turf was the best! Normally, I don't care for Steak as it is many times filled with "fat." The Filet Mignon is tender and the Lobster is also very tender at LA Prime. Our waitress Maria was exceptional and waited on us as if we were part of her family.
The food was excellent and the views were amazing. Our waiter was very sweet, friendly and attentive. I’d happily return here again and have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant!
We had our 5th anniversary at LA Prime. This place has superb service, food, and ambiance. Food servings are much better and tastier than 71 and Above. Would definitely come back and recommend this place. Our server Jose, is so wonderful.
Birthday food was hreat
Food was terrible and over priced. Steak tasted like it was reheated. I made a reservation still had to wait over 20 minutes. Service was not good I felt rushed never asked if everything was ok. She went through everything so fast didn’t give you a chance to speak.
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday and were greeted warmly upon arrival. Our booth was well positioned to take in the full ambiance of the city lights of downtown Los Angeles.
Our server Mark and his colleague Mario were top notch professionals in their courtesy, friendliness, ease of conversation and efficiency.
Our steaks were done exactly to our liking. The 2 sides of potato gratin and sautéed spinach were properly seasoned and well presented.
The wine list was robust and covered the spectrum of selections from around the world— well deserving of rhe restaurant’s inclusion in The Wine Spectator.
Despite this being a Saturday night and during the holiday party season, the noice level was mild to moderate and did not interfere with our own intimate conversation.
This is among our downtown favorite venues and with good reason.
Had a reservation but the guy at the podium still made me and my party wait. First time I ate here I had a great view but this time we were seated in a weird angle against a wall with a view of the 101 and 110 merger, basically the back end of LA. But in the end the steaks were awesome, tender and flavorful
We loved it!
Was pleased with the service, ambiance, food and of course that amazing view of the DTLA skyline.
Perfect for any special occasion
Server was knowledgeable about the menu, made us feel comfortable specially been our first time dining there. very attentive and food was pricey but worth it.
It took a physical trip to the main desk to get any attention. once ordered, the service was slow, forgetful and the food was average based on the price. The waiter complained about being over worked which is never a good sign. Now I understand why we were able to get a table for 7 at the last minutes.
Avoid if you can
Our experience was good—nothing spectacular or rant-worthy.
The wine selection was great. The food was delicious. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and had put that on our reservation but had a friend join us. Unfortunately we did not get any recognition of that. Which was disappointing because it was a big anniversary.
Our reservation was for 7 o’clock we got there 10 minutes before seven and we were seated until 720. We immediately ordered right after we sat down because we knew what we wanted and we waited almost 45 minutes until we got our meal
What an experience. Thank you to Christian, Jose, and Roberto. You guys made the proposal very memorable.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner they even got us in early which was great. So grateful for a lovely birthday dinner!
Waiter was judgy when we wanted to do family style and wasn’t the nicest. For the price we’re paying I believe service should have been amazing.
Excellent service and food! Highly recommended
It is a very nice restaurant to dying I recommend it to anyone that would like a quiet dining experience
