We had an excellent time for my B-day party; pricey but worth it.
We enjoyed our celebration at LA Prime last Saturday. Great service.
Our dinner reservation was 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night for 2. We did not leave the LA Prime until 8:15! It took 90 minutes to get our entre. It was steak. The restaurant kept making excuses. First the waiter said that they had several large parties. I found this hard to believe since is was so early. Then the "chef" came out and said that our steaks had not be prepared to his liking so he sent them back. Poorly managed, terrible service, just sat most of the time. Would not recommend this "flagship" Bonaventure venue but would recommend going down the street to Flemmings Steak House.
It was amazing! Food was great and exceptional service.
My first time at this restaurant and it met my expectations. Great service! Shout out to Mark for his great expertise and phenomenal service. The ambiance was good, the atmosphere was pleasant and lastly the food was superb. I will be returning.
The food was incredible! The sea bass was delicious. We also had a complimentary appetizer from the chef as well as a complimentary cake slice for the birthday boy!
Our server was great. The salmon was outstanding. And the view was everything!
A special place. Great food, service, ambiance and did I mention the view?
Love it! Always great.
Food was amazing with the view that we had. Maria our server did a fantastic job making sure we had everything we needed. She even brought desert for my birthday and something for you boyfriend. Definitely will recommend and want to come back in the future. Thanks LA Prime!
I brought my girlfriend here to celebrate our first anniversary and briefly, I must mention that this place was not only the highlight of our night, but the most memorable. The food here is very much worth it’s value, along with the service provided by Marc and Francisco (our waiters); service was welcoming and very outstanding! You’re also up 35 floors, so a very nice view of Downtown LA is paired with your dinner! For starters we ordered Bluefin Tuna Tartare and Maryland Crab Cake. Both dishes just melt as soon as it hits your tongue. The Crab Cake most specifically is just creamy and the texture of it’s exterior is just perfect, not too flaky. When it came to entrées, I ordered the Delmonico Ribeye and my girlfriend ordered the Center Cut Filet Mignon. Both were cooked to perfection and paired with some sides, Russet Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus with Hollandaise. As the night came to an end, we were provided a complimentary anniversary cake. It was a very unique cake I must say. I don’t recall if it was, but I want to say it was a chocolate mousse. This chocolate moose was very reminiscent, in taste that is, to a Forrero Rocher. When I finished paying, I took my girlfriend downstairs where they have a lounge. Here you can order drinks or small plates while you enjoy a nice view of Downtown LA. The floor rotates too, so your view changes! Overall this experience made my girlfriend and I very happy, and we are definitely coming back in the near future! This place is worth the price! You won’t regret it!
Ambiance could have been a little bit more upscale. Only great thing is view and food. Everything else is simple.
Both steaks were slightly over done- ordered medium rare.
Taste was great and we kept them. Table next to us returned overdone steak. Polite waiter- however had a lot of tables and would disappear for long lengths.
We would come back and had a great time- drinks were also good.
I was with a group of teachers who have stayed at The Westin but never fined at LA Prime. We figured it was time. First we enjoyed drinks at the revolving bar. So cool. Alex, our waiter, sat us and told us some of his favorites on the menu. It sure helped because there were so many yummy entrees to choose from. Best part - Alex is a part time waiter and full time teacher. Big tip coming!! Well our food was amazing;steaks cooked perfect, sea bass was incredible. Sides feed a few so we got Mac n cheese (great idea thanks Alex), creamed corn and mushrooms. Something chocolate for dessert. Wow! Great meal. Amazing service. Super pricey. But worth the splurge! See you in January Alex 😊
Vegetarians, don't be discouraged, there are great vegetarian options here between the mushroom main and the veggie sides. Super great good, nice and interesting atmosphere at the top of the Bonaventura. Expensive for sure, but worth it!
True Steak house. Good food options and excellent service as it should be for the price.
Definitely the best Delmonico Ribeye my fiance and I had the pleasure of eating. The seafood was perfect, and the service was second to none!
Stunning restaurant with great food & equally great views
I didn't really like that I requested a table with a view and when we were about to get sat down, we were not going to get what we asked for, but I let the hostess know I was unhappy, and they accommodated us. My family and I had a really beautiful night with good food and a very intimate and private ambiance. We also had my little niece with us she's two and the staff was accommodating of her as well.
This was my third time to eat at LA Prime. I love it so much. The views of LA from the 35th floor at sunset are AMAZING. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I always use Open Table to reserve, so I was able to make arrangements ahead of time for a member of our party who had special dietary restrictions. The chef and our servers were prepared when we arrived, and everything went very smoothly with no fuss. The food here is high quality and the presentation is beautiful.
Excellent food. Very good service. The only constructive criticism I have is to ensure more wines are in stock. Literally the first three I ordered they were out of. Also when I ordered the fourth, what was listed was a 2013 but the waiter brought a 2016. He didn’t inform me, I had to catch it, whereupon he said they were out of the 2013. If that’s the case, the wine list should be updated, and all good waitstaff know to inform the patron of a substitution in advance (and offer a discount on price) rather than try to slip another vintage by and hope the customer doesn’t notice. However, none of this seriously detracted from the food, view, or evening. I will be back!
Was a very nice place for us to go out for our 10th Anniversary!
Wait one hour and 10 min for the table , food 3 stars , service 3 stars
It was amazing! Went there for my 2 year! My gf was very impressed!
Having dinner tonight with my lady, so far is a disappointment. Are server not great sorry to say, food so far isnt as i read. We hard suppose to be prawn cocktail, is not lol, the bone marrow is not bad but the lobster bisque taste salt water soup, main course was pretty good had the ribeyes none in steak.
Had a great time
The service was good. The ribeye steak was so dry and tough! It was the worst ribeye steak I’ve encountered. I was so disappointed and embarrassed because I’m known for choosing great restaurants. The steak was $72. Everything was a la carte. The creamed corn was runny. The potatoes were cheesy and delicious.
Excellent restaurant. Been to this restaurant multiple times. Never disappointed. Amazing views of downtown LA.
the views are unmatched from the 35th (I think that's right) floor of this downtown building. we were there on a relatively quiet Sunday evening, and our server was amazing. the food was fantastic (I'm vegan and I loved it--I asked if they could sautee the mushroom side with oil instead of butter, and our server replied "we don't use butter." superb! we will definitely be back.
Amazing all around. Great food great views.
The staff is amazing. It’s very private.
The food is worth every penny 💰😋
Wonderful! Juan is always so great.
Perfect venue for dinner & a great time
this was my second visit to LA Prime. It was a nice night out for my son's birthday.
Service was poor due to the fact that we needed to waive down our server every time we needed something. She only ever dropped off our drinks, appetizer, entree and returned to give us our check because we asked for it, so that we didn't have to wait another 20 minutes before she reappeared. If the food was not excellent, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Don't get me wrong, LA Prime is not a terrible restaurant. But for the overall price and amenities, it underperforms.
While it's definitely and "old money" steakhouse, a much needed upgrade is in order. Outside the view AND the prices, nothing wowed is. And the off the menu French fries were out of a bag. The Brussels sprouts while good, lacked the crispy texture that make them addictive. The bread was cold and the cocktails had unnecessary pieces of fruit in them like they were trying to get rid of pineapples. The pork belly were an overpriced bore. However, the steaks were perfectly cooked but lacked salt. You could have a much better meal for about half the price at Ruth's.
From beginning to end it was a perfect evening. The food and the wine were excellent. The ambiance of the restrauunt are the best in LA.
Disappointed at the service. One would expect more being in a 4 star hotel. Hosts were good, waitress couldve been more pleasant and come around more especially with a $260 bill for two.
the bone in rib eye....must try. that's what I had.
Want to reserved a table for my bother and his wife in the future .
Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Everything was great! My only negative comment is we had to wait a while at the desk, waiting for the hostess to show up to seat us. Overall LA Prime was great!
