We strive to present meals that are sustainably farmed and harvested. Because we rely on the bounty of the Santa Cruz farming community, our menu changes frequently and features a wide array of specials. La Posta’s all-Italian wine list offers a baker’s dozen of wines by the glass. The well informed list includes autochthonous varieties from artisan producers throughout Italy.
La Posta adheres to the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch Program and is a certified City of Santa Cruz Green Business.
Great staff. Food was interesting and innovative but taste levels were a bit subdued. Definitely would try it again
Great music on Tuesday nights. Excellent Italian dishes.
I like that La Posta has stayed close to modern Italian style on the menu. And their Bolognese is almost as good as fine.
One of our favorite restaurants whenever in town. Food is always spectacular with excellent wine list even if small. Order take home bread Friday’s and Saturday’s.
We go here very frequently. It’s our favorite place in Santa Cruz. The food is consistently and I mean consistently a 10 on a scale of 1-10. If you only had one place you could go when in Santa Cruz this should be your pick.
Very much enjoyed a Prix Fixe Valentine dinner with the wife.
Various items including the Pork pate, Octopus, Ganache, and the desserts were over the top. I couldn't
have been more happy with the item, the service, and the presentation.
Decided to walk on the wild side and forgo my usually monster red and instead went with the Wine Pairing. What a delightful and enlightening experience. I found myself drinking both whites and roses,
and when properly paired, were excellent.
I recommend without hesitation La Posta.
Excellent Valentines Day menu, food was amazing, wine list was great, service was on point, atmosphere was excellent.
Their special Valentines dinner was excellent - my wife and I got two of the three purchase fixed options for each course and everything was great!
As usual, great food!
Great restaurant, fantastic food, especially the bread!!!
Birthday treat for spouse.
I love La Posta, but Saturday's dinner was not good. The short ribs were tough and overly salted. They compensated us for it, but it ruined the meal and time together. The pasta was also not up to La Posta's usual standards. Don't know what happened, as I have had dozens of terrific meals there.
We love La Posta! They never fail to please us. The salad was so very fresh !!
In an acceleratingly faster world, La Posta demonstrates, without apparently breaking a sweat, why classic cuisine is almost always a step ahead of the next best thing. Salute'
Consistently good food and service. A good restaurant in PG.
The flavor is quite good, but the portions are small. The restaurant is a bit pricey for the size of the entrees. Two of the people in our group had to go across the street to the pizza place after. Quite disappointing after spending $50+ for dinner per person.
Bianca is the best! The Tuesday night deal is perfect for a nice date night out without breaking the bank.
Always interesting seasonal dishes. We especially enjoy the creative side dishes. Skilled service.
Best pizza in town. Nice Santa Cruz ambiance: not pretentious, very down to earth, and friendly.
Attended New Years's eve dinner for 2019 so this review may not apply to a normal day. The place is nice and warm and great for a romantic evening. Service was outstanding and we really liked out waitress. The food was however disappointing given the special price for that evening (I discount for the fact that we appreciate them working that night and that the menu is a one-off.). There was a choice of appetizers and main courses and we tried almost everything on the menu. It was 1/3 hit 2/3 miss. They tried to be creative but missed the mark most of the time. The scallops were not cooked enough for instance. The desserts were subpar. Some of the desserts were barely edible (cookies were too hard). The table next door seem to agree. I am not sure I will go back for a regular night.
Went to La Posta for New Years Eve. Table was ready in 15 minutes .We were at the bar, seated . The 5 Course Dinner was spectacular . Lamb Chops and Canneloni were delicious, as was everything else. Service could not have been better . A perfect way to ring in the new decade . So happy that we chose La Posta !
Great food, great service.
Portions are small but great bread to help fill you up.
This is my favorite place to eat in Santa Cruz. It never fails to please.
La Posta has consistently delicious & innovative food and is a warm friendly environment with good service. We've been many times and will continue coming!
After a tasty arugula antpasto, we enjoyed a delicious mushroom ravioli dish paired with a potato gnocci pork plate that made for a perfect meal. The desserts were scrumptious, too. This was a perfect Christmas Eve feed for two.
Locally sourced, sophisticated flavors, house made pastas, breads, desserts - a favorite place
This restaurant is always good and very consistent
This is one of our favorite local restaurants for the consostently yummy food.
Always fabulous. My one minor annoyance tonight ( and I rarely have any at this fabulous restaurant) is that the crab salad ( which was delicious) was about half the size it should have been for 17$.
Amazing from food to staff!
Really enjoy the homemade pasta-I had it with fresh crab. Crab salad, while very tasty, needed more crab. Couldn’t get the taste
We really enjoyed our evening at La Posta. It was our 32nd anniversary and we wanted the occasion to be special. Our server was great, and gave us lots of help with choosing our wine, and items on the menu. We had a pizza for an appetizer that was light and flavorful. We then had salads that had an incredible dressing. The main course was a ravioli that had an herb flavored dough that was so delicious. And for dessert we had some gelato that was light and cleared the palate. Everything from our friendly and helpful server to the amazingly flavorful food, was a delight. I highly recommend La Posta if you are looking for a special evening and enjoyable and delicious meal.
Enjoyed an exquisite selection of thin-crust wood-fired pizza, plus tortellini and pappardelle dishes, along with a house selection Barbera and a smoked cod eith greens appetizer. La Posta always provides exceptional food quality, good value, and friendly, professional and efficient service. This is a superb local restaurant!
Consistently inventive menu worth checking out every season. For fall into winter, persimmon and burrata sprinkled with hazelnuts, chanterelles cannelloni, chicken saltimbocca, and a rich olive oil slice of cake. Lovely dining room, and I love the window tables for sidewalk watching.
Great food and excellent service!
One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Cruz. Consistently a great dining experience. The dining room is very open and mirrors on the walls allow diners to have a nice views of the dining room (and other diners) too. The food is prepared really well with creative touches. Always an interesting dining experience.
It was great.
