Food was very good. Other reviews said mediocre. Other reviews said staff was very friendly. Our waiter came across as cold and disinterested. Considering this restaurant portrays itself as a top notch venue and the prices they charge you might expect that they would provide bread as part of the meal. They don’t, you can pay $9 for the privilege of having bread. Maybe if they fly the bread in each day from France, one could justify the cost. Cheap and tacky.
For all I had heard about this restaurant I was left a bit disappointed. While the food was good it was not worth the price. Chips, salsa, and a small guacamole $15. Chips and salsa are table stakes for most Mexican restaurants. I understand no ice in the water but not unchilled water. The water was room temperature. The atmosphere was the best part of the experience. Beautiful dining room. I will try somewhere else the next time I am in Santa Fe.
great food and service. really nice appetizers cocktails etc
Pros: friendly greetings; beautiful setting; initial service good. Cons: average food, at best; slow to take order forgot some of order; bit pricey. If unfamiliar w SF & appearances are what you like, then go. For authentic, less $$ SF/NM fare, go elsewhere.
The ambience is lovely, the serving staff was fine, but the food was very mediocre. I do not recommend the queso, the salsa, or the enchiladas. The pasta was decent though.
Menu is quite limited. Expensive for what you get. Drinks way overpriced and watered down. Doubt we would go back
Disappointing. Took my wife there for our anniversary, which I stated under one of the options while making the reservation though I'm not sure what significance that had. While the staff was friendly and the setting quite nice, however our cocktails, appetizers and dinner all arrived together at the same time (what would have happened had I ordered dessert too?). I kindly pointed out to the runner that we hadn't even had our drinks first, much less our salads to which the runner offered to keep our dinners in an oven which was no better than worse. We took the whole bundle at once instead. Our server later came over and apologized and offered to comp a dessert, which we were billed for in the end. Oh well... everyone was nice and I realize mistakes do happen; we just happened upon a trifecta that night. Food was ok; given the history and setting of the hotel and it's relationship to similar ones, I was hoping for something more along the lines of La Posada in Winslow AZ which is truly unique. If your looking for ambiance, it's a beautiful place to eat though better food options within Santa Fe.
The food and service was fantastic and the restaurant itself was beautiful.
Great service, mediocre food.
Amazing food. Always a favorite place to go when in Santa Fe. Worth it for sure.
Excellent enchiladas. All 4 of us ordered chicken or beef. Green chili was medium warm. Pinto beans, sopapillas and posole were great. Chips and guacamole tasty. Only average was the margaritas. Small in size and a bit plain for the cost of the 4 we ordered. Beautiful setting and good service.
Been in Santa Fe for 6 days and this was the absolute worst meal ( dinner) we had. Ordered the Filet and enchiladas. The filet was ordered medium rare and came well done and tough. The enchiladas were under cooked and Luke warm at best. Tasted like a rushed microwaved meal. Sent the filet back and the waitress brought the same piece of meat and argued that is was cooked correctly. She took it away and never replaced it. Ate a few bites of the enchiladas and left. Sorry but so many great restaurant options in Santa Fe.
Avoid this place…overpriced and mediocre.
Gabriella was wonderful
A favorite of ours. However, the service this time was a bit mixed. Beautiful dining room in a classic hotel. An experienced that is truly Santa Fe.
I would highly recommend! Food was great, service was excellent!
we love La Plazuela at La Fonda on the Plaza, as we're local and it has everything Santa Fe is proud of.
We had one night in Santa Fe and stayed at the hotel. This restaurant was convenient. The hotel was fabulous as was the rooftop bar, but this restaurant was pretty average.
We always make a reservation here when coming to Santa Fe. We think the Chile Rellenos are the best we have ever had!
It was the best tortilla soup and enchiladas we ever had! The experience makes all the other Southwestern food we eat from the northeast pale in comparison.
Everything we ordered was delicious and the ambiance and decor is very nice.
La Plazuela offers a wonderful dining experience. I enjoyed a Silver Coin margarita, La Plazuela's signature tortilla soup, and the Chimayo Chile Glazed salmon. The margarita was clean and refreshing. The soup broth was full of intense, yet balanced chile flavors. The salmon was cooked perfectly and completely delicious. I would keep La Plazuela on my list of must-visit-restaurants for Santa Fe!
Everyone was wonderful and accommodating, from our server, Francisco, to the bartender Mark, and the manager, Sara. Perfect service, delicious food, and beautiful atmosphere.
We had a table by the fountain. The margaritas were excellent. I had the pasta and my wife had the salmon and we both enjoyed. We also shared the tomato appetizer.
Great ambiance, good food, slow service
We eat here every time we travel to Santa Fe. It is consistently a great meal and environment. I love the space and the food.
A must visit for a True New Mexican dining experience!
Delicious! Would eat there again when next in Santa Fe.
Earlier than we are used to dining..but this is Santa Fe in 2021! The food and service were fabulous!
It was my birthday
Loved the atmosphere, the staff, and the food was amazing!!
Nicole our server was amazing. She had wonderful suggestions for wine to complement our meal. We didn’t have any wait time. Our table was ready when we arrived. Everything was perfect.
Exception restaurant. The La Fonda Hotel is likewise exceptional. Waitress was able w a smile to tone down the chilles for us. Nice presentation, flavorfull and satisfying. The art work is fantastic. We loved the painted panes of glass. Very relaxing and welcoming.
The food was very good, and the drinks were excellent. Service was good, but a bit slow. We would eat here again.
Very nice courtyard. The food was excellent/ had trout and a chocolate desert. Service was very well done- helpful, friendly and competent.
Food and service were outstanding. Had the blue corn trout entre, so delicious!
Always love the food and ambiance for our out of town guests!
We had the Trout and enchiladas both were exceptional
Beautiful hotel restaurant with fountain and vaulted beamed ceiling. Food was average and cocktail was beautiful. Service not particularly attentive.
