Delicious, fresh food! Excellent service. Margarita was terrific & the ambiance wonderful. The only problem was the tableside guacamole wasn't up to par - the onions & jalapeno peppers were both tired & wilted. If they used finely & freshly chopped serrano peppers instead, it would have been much better & we would have given La Plazuela a 5-star rating.
I made a reservation at least 6 weeks before. We showed up for our reservation and had to wait 20 minutes. We could see a table for 4 sitting vacant. Then, they sat us at that table20 minutes later. We ordered a bottle of wine. It took 20 minutes for that to be delivered. Wow terrible, terrible. They should have paid for appetizer we shared or the one dessert we shared.
We chose La Plazuela as a special place for our final dinner during our vacation in Santa Fe, and were not disappointed. It has lovely ambience and decor, the service was prompt and attentive, and the food was very good. There was a reasonable price range of options to choose from, so we didn't have to spend a lot to have an enjoyable meal there. I would definitely go back if we visit Santa Fe again.
The food was very good. The service was outstanding and they made us feel special on our anniversary. I would consider this restaurant again when in the area.
An enjoyable experience, in spite of the fact that it is a bit too closely packed.
Great food! Authentic Vibe
Had a wonderful meal during our visit to Santa Fe. This restaurant is lovely. Such a beautiful setting. Our meals were served to our satisfaction. Oliver, the host and Gaspar our server have excellent Guest Service skills. They made our evening very enjoyable.
Great service (Bryan was very very good) and very nice cozy place!! Food was ok but the atmosphere was great!!
Our waitress was awesome. The food was delicious and came out quickly. It’s a beautiful restaurant.
we go to the restaurant often, and like everything about it. It's local, has history and we like the ambience even if it does get a little excited sometimes, but then other-times it can be very quiet.
We traveled to Santa Fe for our 36th Anniversary. Stormy did an excellent job for us. They even brought us out a complimentary chocolate dessert that was delicious. This may have been our best anniversary ever. We have gone to Santa Fe since 2006 and always stay at La Fonda. Stormy just makes us want to return again and again.
The service and ambiance was wonderful. We were a bit disappointed with the meat in our main courses. The venison was chewy and the duck breast was a little rare for our tastes.
I had been here 3 years ago and I returned bringing some friends who have never been to
Santa Fe. One was having a birthday so this was a perfect place to celebrate. Her special
dessert was even complimentary. Alexis was our waitress and she was excellent. She even
divided up the meals where we could all pay a 1/3 of the birthday gal.
We also enjoyed the bar that had a band and playing many songs we all remembered. Nice evening. Two of us had their special and it was delicious.
We stayed at the La Fonda hotel and decided to have dinner in their own restaurant. We very much liked the interior and the very attentive service who was very helpful in selecting the best drink for us (they have many different margaritas and tequilas, so we needed help...). The food was very good overall, with some minor areas of improvement (the fish was slightly overcooked). Overall a very pleasant experience! Reservations are strongly recommended as the restaurant gets pretty busy, especially on weekends.
Service outstanding, food wonderful, definitely do again.
The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was delightful.
Yet again another outstanding meal with outstanding service (as always with Alexis). We have finally found the best chiles rellanos in Santa Fe, consistently so. Ditto the fabulous table side guacamole. The bourbon pour was not generous, but the selection, though limited, certainly satisfied. Also, their sopapillas are worth the trip downtown, even during tourist season! We can't wait to go back.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the dinner we shared at La Plazuela. The fountain and the door is very lovely. The service was not as professional as at the other dinner places we went to in Santa Fe.
We brought friends who'd never been to Santa Fe before. We had such a nice time, very pleasant and great service. Everyone enjoyed their food and wine - we shared several appetizers which were delicious. But the star of the evening was the chicken entree. It was the best restaurant dish I've had in years! SO good!
The overall quality has declined since our last visit in December. The kitchen needs improvement, as the dining room is beautiful.
Great space in the lobby of the hotel. Lots of ambiance. Friendly service but there was not enough of them so everything took way too long. Tasty food. Good experience but nothing so remarkable that I need to go back.
Saturday evening dinner, only fair wine list, grossly overpriced. Soup was lukewarm at best. Prime rib was served with mashed potatoes and spaghetti squash, two unimaginative starch dishes. Meat was overdone. Service was quite spotty.
The food was fantastic, and the service was great. Too bad there was a really loud guy at the next table. We didn’t let it ruin a great time, though. We will be back every time!
Excellent food. Santa Fe style dishes, but other options on the menu too. I had venison loin, which was amazing, perfectly cooked, with a blueberry sauce; just delicious.
Great drinks and a surprisingly delicious vegetarian entree. Don’t miss the tableside guacamole
The food was well prepared and beautifully plated. Very good variety on the menu. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. We had a table near the central fountain which was lovely and provided views throughout the room. The decor is unique and very pleasing. Will definitely dine here again when next in Santa Fe.
Service was excellent. A lot of food choices to meet everyone's dietary needs. Food was very tasty. Great experience & would highly recommend.
Double Barrel Reposado Margaritas are the best margaritas I’ve ever had! Table side guacamole & enchiladas del Norte are highly recommended. Service is excellent.
Absolutely amazing chile rellenos - the best I have ever eaten. We had a wonderful meal with great service, even for our children. The atmosphere is vibrant, in that the restaurant is large and open. The food is the best Southwestern / New Mexico fare I have ever eaten. Thanks!
We've eaten in this historic hotel a few times. Pretty consistent food for a hotel. Our server, Erin?, was very good. Loved the ambiance of the decor, especially the painted windows. The french onion soup was very good.
I had the tortilla soup, it was good poured the broth at the table, prices are higher at night but it is Sante Fe history is outstanding.
I really like the ambiance of La Plazuela. The service was excellent and the food was good as well but a bit expensive for standard New Mexican fare. However, for a hotel restaurant, it is not outrageously priced and I think the venue is beautiful.
Great staff and wonderful ambiance. You can go casual or fancy.
This was a great dining experience. Delicious food in a relaxed, refined environment. Highly recommend!
La Plazuela is everything I had read in reviews--ok food, but great ambiance! We were in Santa Fe for the first time and read that this was the place to go if you were a tourist so we decided to make dinner reservations the week before. It is beautiful and cozy and looked to be a family-friendly eatery. We started with the table side guacamole, pricy but very fresh and tasty. Being that it was Lent Friday we were dismayed to find few seafood options. We ordered the salmon and the cod, one of us decided to order the redbird chicken. The risotto with the salmon was delicious, though the salmon itself was only average. The cod was a little chewy, but the sweet potato polenta was tasty. The redbird chicken was fine, sounded much better on paper. Again, the side was the tastiest part of the dish, I could eat a plateful of the cheesy grits! The broccoli flan was strange, not quite sure about it. Since dinner was only a "meh" experience, we decided to try two of their desserts, we tried the raspberry enchiladas and the molten chocolate cake at the server's recommendation. They were delicious!!! The raspberry enchiladas are basically crepes filled with mascarpone cheese and drizzled with a raspberry glaze, but they were so delicious! The molten cake was rich and decadent, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. Overall, the service was good, the food was ok, and the desserts were amazing. There are definitely several more restaurants around town that have better food in my opinion.
What a lovely, classic spot to eat in Santa Fe! It’s still as good as ever (maybe better). Filet and enchiladas were wonderful. Alexis was a GREAT server! Thank you!
Excellent place is Santa Fe to eat and drink!
Service was so so, food just ok- ambiance was great- mostly tourists!
La Plazuela is a unique place in the beautiful La Fonda Hotel. The lunch menu is more extensive and by far more economical than the dinner menu but the dinner offerings are all very unique and should satisfy everyone's tastes. The food is fairly simply prepared but the tastes are quite complex. I had the venison loin and it was cooked a perfect medium rare and came with a very unique blueberry reduction. The margaritas here are quite good! Will definitely eat here again next time we are in Santa Fe!
i received an e-mail saying I did not keep my reservation. I did dine at La Plazuela on Sunday evening and hence the review.
