La Plazuela at La Fonda on the Plaza
Gorgeous restaurant! The service was pretty slow to start with but once the apps and drinks came our way we didn’t even think about the speed of the entrees. Staff was friendly and accommodating and even gave us some recommendations for another nice place for drinks! On the pricey side for sure!
Loved the ambiance and service. Our waiter Gaspar was great - very thorough and helpful. Food was terrific. Did I say the ambiance was great? That garden room was incredible. A very nice, comfortable experience.
Every time I’m in Santa Fe I go to LA Plazuela. The food is excellent every time and the service is wonderful. We ordered the goat cheese stuffed chicken breast which was outstanding. I would absolutely get that again. This is a must go to restaurant when you’re in Santa Fe.
Always enjoy our La Plazuela visits - the setting remains sublime and the food and presentation are outstanding. The Buffalo Tenderloin was fantastic.
Steak was over done and tough. We were overcharged by $10 for the bottle of wine. Ok if you want to say that you were served at an historic Harvey restaurant
We loved it and would highly recommend it. What an amazing ambiance. I last ate there about 23 years ago and I couldn't wait to get back and try it again. It changed my whole feeling about Southwest food back then and I learned to really enjoy it and appreciate it. The menu has changed a good bit but they still have wonderful Southwest cuisine and a nice mix of New American. The historic dining room with the special hand painted windows are alone worth the visit. I love the two story dining room. Exquisite !!!
Wonderful experiences great food and exceptional service!! The restaurant is unique and beautiful.
We went to dinner for my wifes birthday. She received a "free entree" certificate which we took advantage of. I had the Mahi Mahi, which was perfectly cooked and surrounded by several roasted vegetables and some rice. My wifes steak ordered medium rare, arrived as medium, but the waiter returned it to the kitchen and quickly apologized and produced another "medium rare" steak. Very flavorful.
Perfect evening from start to finish and everything in between.
Very touristy and mediocre.
Great service and wonderful food in a beautiful room.
Great food and a nice atmosphere near the plaza. Always good food, especially the traditional New Mexico selections
Took a long time to get drinks and food for whatever reason. Food just okay. Would not return.
Beautiful restaurant. The food was excellent. Both of us had Southwestern and was wonderful. Husbands included 6oz filet which he said was tender and delicious. Was noisy but tolerable. Our waitress Donna was great!! Would recommend for nice evening dinner.
we often go to La Plazuela and consider it one of our local favorites. As this visit was on Labor Day weekend, the prices seemed a little higher than normal, but the food was very tasty as usual.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and outstanding waiters. Would definitely recommend to Santa Fe travelers.
Meeting with friends.
Had a wonderful dinner with my family. The service was excellent and the food was perfect. It was a very enjoyable experience.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. Great service and food. I am now trying to eat mostly vegan and they had veggie tacos and a tamal. I chose the tamal and it was awesome. Meals like that make it easy and interesting to go vegan or vegetarian.
Wonderful ambiance, delicious food, great people watching!
The food was flavorful and delicious. The guacamole was wonderful.
We would never miss having dinner at La Plazuela when in Santa Fe. It is one of our all time favorites!
They always provide excellence.
Traveling to TX with our pups this lovely restaurant accommodated all four of us on their indoor patio. The service was professional and attentive bringing water for dogs even before we asked. Fresh lime margaritas with mezcal were outstanding. We had gazpacho, watermelon and goat cheese salad, duck, and stuffed chicken breast. Avery morsel was delish.
Always a favorite stop while in Santa Fe. Our service was outstanding in every respect - friendly accurate and welcoming. Food is the best blending SW with high end restaurant fare.
Good food and value. Uneven but friendly service. I would recommend it.
We are locals and have been regulars here for many years. This is the first experience at La Plazuela that would have me at least pausing to return. Mainly just because of a couple younger, seemingly new staff members. We arrived a few minutes early and although some tables were empty, we were told we could go to the bar and they would call us. Okay. We had a drink but no call. We go back to host stand, now a little late and are seated at a table that was empty earlier.
We order the table side guacamole and entrees. They finally do the guacamole and then the meals arrive before we had a couple chips. My plate is set in front of me half over the edge to my lap. No acknowledgement of the bad timing.
Normally when I pre tell the restaurant we are celebrating something, they have mentioned it and even did a dessert in the past. This time? Nothing. No mention. And we had to hold off on the bill and ask for the sopapilla that should have come with a meal.
I think it all came down to a very inexperienced host and waitress. But it was disappointing on a special occasion so I probably wouldn’t try that again.
Historic hotel, beautiful restaurant! Great food! We had fajitas, snapper tacos and a wonderful dessert, very good flavor on all the dishes! Highly recommend the fajatas!
Stormi, our server, was a special person. She made my birthday dinner very special.
This was our second visit to La Plazuela in a month. My husband and I brought two friends here for dinner and all is us were extremely pleased. Our server, Stormy was wonderful: funny, professional and helpful. Our entrees, some New Mexican and some more non New Mexican were excellent. The enchiladas were particularly great. Prices are moderate, ambiance is perfect for both casual and less casual dining. A favorite of ours in Santa Fe.
Nice menu and good variety. Margaritas were great! Nancy, our server was super!
So so at best. Had dinner this past week. My wife had the enchiladas, decent. I ordered a ceasar salad and the American wagyu strip (small plate), never got the salad. The wagyu had gristle. Have had American wagyu before and it wasn’t like this. When the server came by to check on how things were, I told her I didn’t get my salad. She said she would check on it. I told her the salad should have come prior to the steak, I did not want it after. “They” took it off the bill. I would have expected nothing less. The server made it out like they were doing me a favor?? You ask a restaurant to do a few things, hot food, right order, etc. this place failed. There are better options in SF.
The food was great. Had the pork and it had great flavor
I didn’t realize that pets on leash meant sitting in the hallway. It was fine but not as nice as the actual room and glad that they were able to accommodate us with our dog, wherever we sat.
We were out for a very nice dinner with a cocktail, wine and nice dinner. Overall, our food was excellent and we would definitely go back for the food; however, the front end staff were disappointingly marginal. The hostess had no graciousness, and our waitress was totally clueless. We had to ask for water twice of which our water glasses were NEVER refilled and remained empty most the evening. Our dead cocktail classes remained on our table well into our meal. I finally had to ask the waitress to remove them. It just appears to me there is no training or oversight in the front end of the house. Fortunately, the food made up for their lack!!!!!!!
AMAZING food as always, and beautifully plated as well! Excellent service amd ambiance!
We had dinner at La Plazuela on Sunday night .
It was Indian Market weekend and we thought things would be slower .
But the atmosphere was great and we were greeted very nicely when we came in .
We ordered drinks and table side guacamole that was great .
Three of us ordered the Chile rellenos .
Two orders arrived that were not hot at all.
They quickly sent them back and new plates were brought out .
It was a great response .
We loved everything we had !
Margie was an incredible server .
Always phenomenal service, food and drink!
Unique and wonderful
The restaurant is very attractive. The service from ancillary personnel was quite good. Our main waiter was a bit distracted, however. When our entree arrived, the fish was a bit dry as though it had been sitting for a while. Bread was excellent. Sangria was wonderful. Mahi mahi has great accompaniments, but the fish itself was dry. My companion said that the fajitas were good, but not great. Overall, a good experience. I would go again.
The tableside guacamole and salsa are a must! The fajitas were expertly seasoned and the tortillas divine.
