La Parrilla Colombian Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Went there to celebrate Sweetest Day with my boyfriend and absolutely fell in love. Although the place is somewhat small I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food ! Food was reasonably priced. We had the combination of chicken and steak. Not only was it superb but it was enough for both him & I (also comes with sides) but definitely varies according to how hungry or how much you like to eat. I highly recommend this place. You will not be sorry! 😋
We actually were to go to another popular Columbian restaurant and ended up at LaParrilla. The cocktails were great, the hostess was helpful because we weren't sure of what to order. The food was wonderful and you must get the Plantains , they were really delicious. This is a very relaxed place so don't come here and expect in and out quickly. They let you enjoy your dining and are a wave away to get there attention when needed.
My parents are colombian and I have been looking for good colombian food in chicago. Absolutely delicious...everything was perfect. I recommend the bandeja paisa. The ladies are absolutely wonderful and pay outmost attention to detail. I wioo be coming back.
They really need to get rid of the server who served us. The entire experience was truly mind boggling. From not being refilled with water until I was done with my meal and my guest had to walk up to the bar to ask, to waiting 40 minutes for appetizers. When we did received our appetizers we had no setups or plates. We were told to wait by the server waving his hand in such a gesture. Meanwhile he served the table beside us their food and filled their waters. The server truly ruined the experience for us and I was hoping this last dinner with my parents before my mothers cancer surgery would be pleasant for her. Will never return.
Had a party of 9, last minute reservation. Seated within minutes of arrival. Service was tremendous , food was delicious ( MUST HAVE THE EMPANADA'S) and bill was reasonable to say the least. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the Chicago O'Hare Airport Area!
La Parrilla was just OK. The portions were small for the price, but, the empanadas were fresh and we ordered the beef and chicken. We went at lunch time and the server seemed to be overwhelmed at times, though he was polite and got our order right. if I went back, I would try the specials, but, nothing happened to make me want to come back.
So this restaurant did not meet my expectations. I was lead to believe this would be upscale dinning; when it's more like a nice family restaurant with a bar. The restaurant is on the small side and the menu is not exspansive. My food was served warm. I had chicken breast that was not juicy or plump. My boyfriend had steak; which he loved. His only objection was it was not hot as I stated earlier. I would recommend this restaurant for a night out with the family or catching an early dinner with friends. But not for upscale dinning or serious foodies looking for a great menu.
I went here for my birthday with my family and I quite enjoyed it! The service was great and always on time. The food came in a reasonable amount of time and the restaurant setting was nice. The waitress answered any of our questions and concerns promptly and even one of the owners came by and asked us how our meal was. Definitely coming back here!
Took 10 minutes to be acknowledged at our table and another 10 for water to arrive. Our appetizer order never came and our steaks were over done. The place was empty when we arrived, but packed with larger groups midway thru our meal. I understand larger groups need attention but a 2 top deserves service too. Food overall was good, but not a great experience.
la parrilla restaurant was a very nice place the minute you walk in the people made you feel welcome the service was great , we had a great time the food was excellent can'nt wait to try others dishes. The restaurant look very nicely decorated very welcoming, would be a good place to hang out on the weekends the staff were very attentive definitely we would go back. Will tell all my friends about this place.
Restaurant was clean & quaint and the staff was fairly nice, but the food was nothing exceptional. This is the 2nd time I've been here & wanted to see if it was any different from my 1st visit. It wasn't. I've never had Columbian food before so I was excited to try it. Both times when I went, I had a meat dish (like a carne asada), & both times the meat was cooked to almost being dry. The sides of rice, cassava & potatoes were ok & the presentation on wooden boards was nice. My companion had a chicken/rice dish similar to a paella and she too said it was nothing exceptional.
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Full bar, bartender was willing to give it a try to mix a drink we wanted a certain way, great attitude. The appetizers were so good, tostones topped off with tomato base sauce and avacado and mini empanadas.
For dinner we had one churasco order and a skirt steak ; both perfectly seasoned and delicious. Food was filling and looking around everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners as well.
The place is on the smaller side but its nice and clean. I would not recommend this place for toddlers or babies; older kids ok more of date night type of place.
I live in Berwyn but am willing to drive all the way North to try some of their other plates.
Companion ordered the salmon and it was over cooked and dry. Didn't eat it and didn't want to send it back. I was limited on time. I ended up splitting my dish. Server kept asking if we were ready to order 2 mins after getting to table. Gave us no time to settle in. Will not be returning. I'd rather go across the street to Burger King.
Food is decent, service is poor. Had to wait a long time for our food and drinks. Even water took a long time to get brought to the table. Asked for sauces for the meats - gave us a hard time, waited a long time then gave us a small saucer for a table of six.
