New Year's Eve Special Menus & Offers
La Palapa is the perfect place for delicious, festive and relaxed New Year's Eve
Nice, not overcrowded brunch spot. Great music and the food was pretty good.
Hope the return to real silverware and actual glasses soon. Felt a little 'low rent' using plastic forks and knives.
Day of the Dead celebration dinner
Great food, service and atmosphere . My go to place for brunch with friends !
Terrific experience as always - good drinks, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere combined with terrific service (Richard is the best!)… makes for a consistently wonderful evening out with friends.
Well greeted. Very accomodating re in/side. Servers nice. Food came quick at first then really slow when they got busy. Interesting menu. Some things were good (burrito). Veg/vegan thing kind of bland but thats the category i guess.
Service was mediocre, so was the food. Good for a big group but don’t make a night out of la palapa
The food was ok, but my allergies were not taken into account and I could not eat most of the dishes.
The service was not very helpful either.
Great food and service. But wish they had a spicy sign next to one of the dishes I had. Delishious but painful. Would go again!
One of my fav spots to eat! Good vibes and great service.
Food and margs here were amazing! One of the best quesadillas I've ever had. Our waiter was great too, super funny and attentive.
Everything I could hope for
The food was outstanding. I cook Mexican a lot, so ordered what I don't make, or don't make often. Both the mole and gazpacho were excellent. Depth of flavor in both. Gazpacho was full of chunky fresh vegetables, the mole paired beautifully with the shrimp. Even the beans and rice were wonderfully flavorful. The portions are large, so happy I shared a main course for with a friend for lunch. I can't wait to go back.
The margaritas were below average and the guacamole was too. I expected more.
Good food. Beware of street construction if eating outdoors.
La Palapa is always a great experience, I bring all of my friends / family / colleagues here with no problem. All the staff is great, but Richard especially is a gem! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Went here for brunch and sat outside. Incredible food and brunch menu. Drinks were just ok, plenty of drinks options. We tried the sangria which was just ok that day, I will change drink order to something else when we go went back.
The food is always a solid win but the service was a little off -- our mains came before starters and drinks and the "outdoor seating" is really an extension on to the sidewalk with a screen window put in. They do have plexi dividers between tables though.
As for the service, I am sure they are short staffed like most places at the moment, will be back for sure!
We had gone here a long time ago snd loved it. We were excited to be back. The food was great. Portions were big but not overwhelming and delicious. Unfortunately The service was lackluster. We finally gave up on dessert since he’d obviously forgotten about us. Was disappointing. The noise level was also quite high and you couldn’t hear people across the table. Afraid that may be our last visit.
Andrew was a terrific waiter!! We’ll be back!
Quiet lunch off their restaurant week menu of assorted Mexican offerings. Waiter kindly did make a substitute too. Think the salsa and chips should have come to the table quickly...not with the lunch 20 minutes later. Also don’t like cheap plastic utensils Food was good tho not exciting overall dining ...
Great standard Mexican restaurant. Have been going for years. Delicious margaritas, great apps and heartily filled tacos.
Doesn’t look 5 star from the outside but I’d give it 6 if I could. Amazing food and staff. Warning: The torta is tremendous
The service was amazing!! Value for your money was great and so was the food.
Would highly recommend this place for a night out with friends. It’s a low key spot with a fun environment. The food is pretty cheap for what you get and the drinks are delicious.
We got a pitcher of margs with jalapeño and the margarita wasn’t too sweet, which is usually my complaint about margs. The guac was good and I liked the crudité option, as well.
I got the vegan bowl for dinner and it was very good. Mix of vegetables, beans, guac, salsa, etc. All really good. My friends got tacos and they said the brisket was delicious, super juicy.
Would highly recommend for a weekend night dinner with friends.
The place is rundown and not well kept - our seats were actually ripped and the restrooms were filthy. The food was good but with so many better options in nyc for authentic Mexican food with clean and well kept spaces I won’t visit here again. A solid mediocre experience
Great place— been going there for years!!!
Amazing cocktails and good vegan options, fast service. Outdoor seating is very calm and relaxed.
Super great, as always! Love love the new burrito option.
Great, authentic Mexican food and cocktails. Excellent brunch.
Place really degraded over the past years! It used to be a nice place to hang but now the plastic cups and the cutlery make it look cheap and passable.
Food was simply not good. Three of us ate three different things, none of us enjoyed our meals, one of us had to send his food back.
Everything served with plastic cups, plastic utensils (even to cut a steak) and then the bill comes out to $69/person (with no appetizers or dessert).
There are many great Mexican restaurants in the village. Don’t waste your time on this one.
Casual, fun spot for a night out with friends. Great food and drinks for the price!
Food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! Top notch guacamole and tacos. Vegetarian/vegan friendly. Service was also great! Would 10/10 eat here again.
The service and food were amazing! This place would be great for groups or friends looking for a fun dinner spot. Highly recommend 10/10
The food was delicious, the ambiance is very cool. Downsides were slow service although wait staff were nice and courteous. Went there to try the flan from brooklyn 99! It was good :)
Great birthday dinner for my friend last night - we were a loud party of nine, so it was nice they put us in the back area. Food was great and our waitress was wonderful, thank you!!
Food and cocktails were great. Staff was super attentive. Really welcomed our party of nine (including 6, 15-year-old) and made for a special birthday dinner!
So happy to see that LaPalapa has survived the pandemic... was my first foray back out to restaurants in NYC and LOVED everything about dinner... such authentic and delicious Mexican food, and probably the best margaritas in New York City.
