the service was amazing. everyone, from the hostess to the waiter, was very attentive. the food was ok and honestly not sure why this place is getting great reviews with the quality of food. i also had a chianti and it was ok at best. the place itself was big and nice but v commercial and not as unique as i would like. leaving a 4 star review because the saving grace is the service staff n
Great food, service, atmosphere, everything. My husband and I were craving Italian and this hit the spot. Can’t wait to come back
My girl and I had a good evening.
Pretty upscale vibe
Great food and great atmosphere.
Indoors the noise was moderate but
we dined outdoors and it was surprisingly,
quieter than expected for a Saturday night,
even with cars going past us. Can't say enough
about the food. Would truly recommend.
Place is fantastic, always different specials and so yummy , I will recommend to try them are so delicious, also the service is great .
Not bad… just not good. The service was inexpert, with the server struggling to read a very lengthy list of specials, none of which had a price. It was a time-consuming and largely pointless exercise, as conversation ground to a halt so we could sit through a barely intelligible monologue of things we had no intention of ordering. The place itself has a fake “traditional” decor completely unrelated to the building it’s in, so it just seems like a restaurant in a mall. And that’s what this is, at heart: the menu was typical American-Italian, and presentation dated: I had breaded eggplant, and it came piled into a little tower with a sprig or two of arugula, with a lattice of a sweet syrupy balsamic over it. It’s the kind of thing restaurants do to suggest they are fancy while serving very ordinary food. A margarita pizza came covered in cheese - probably mozzarella but certainly not buffala - and cut into bar-sized bites. The base was thin, but chewy. Wine is ordered from an iPad which just comes across as a gimmick: it was OK, but they sell the cheapest Castelo Banfi at quite the mark-up. All in all this is a mediocre restaurant masquerading as something better. It’s not. This is the kind of place which is unfortunately typical of a certain kind of Italian American restaurant, and that’s fine if that’s what you want, perhaps a certain kind of comfort food. It just isn’t what I thought it would be - the reviews are generally good. It’s not that it’s bad - it’s not. We ate all our food, and drank the wine, and enjoyed the company. But there’s not much point in living in a place like Brooklyn and going to a restaurant that serves from a menu better suited to a suburban chain, but charges New York prices for it, with service to match. It’s just really disappointing.
Loved this place. The food was really good and the ambiance was perfect for a friends or family gathering.
Always an amazing experience at La Nonna! The food is always so fresh and delicious that even my kids love to go back and they can be picky eaters.
It was a great place. I went here for a birthday dinner date with my girlfriend. She loved it. The food tasted amazing.
Great relaxing Italian restaurant which serves delicious food!
The risotto was so scrumptious!
We will definitely go back!
The place is beautiful but the food and service really let it down. We got appetizers and the server told us the small plates were coming and that took what felt like half and hour. The food is pretty average. We’ve had better overall.
Service was incredibly slow out of the kitchen. Took an hour after our appetizer to receive our entrée. Other tables experience the same thing we noticed. Osso Buco was too salty and tough while the Chilean sea bass was a little too saucy. We were asked about 8 to 10 times how everything was. I am sure some corporate overlord instructs waitresses and managers to ask how our dining experience was but it’s a little too much — especially when the experience wasn’t stellar. Second time there, I probably will not return
Loved this place again. Second time here!!
Been here quite a few times, always great service and great meal. This time service only. Don't know if they are different owners or changed the Chef but my chicken parm was a deep fried patty and the eggplant taste like processed food. This was a big change from our previous visits. I will try again, hoping it was just an off night. I will say top notch Bartender, sorry I didn't get his name.
Excellent attendance to guests, great food, very nice decore - quiet, spacious and a perfect place for my parents 50th wedding anniversary dinner.
Food was excellent, service was great. I will definitely be going back.
I love it! Food is always amazing. I love the outside. Staff is great!
Had a date night with my girlfriend and it was a great experience thanks to the restaurant. We have arrive a few minutes late and our seats wasn’t ready yet. We waited at the bar and ask for drinks. The bartender made nice drinks for us and it was good. We was able to take out drinks to our reserve talking. The music was at a nice volume where I can exchange words with my date. We order our appetizer, entree and desserts and all three meals was delicious with different distinct taste. My date and I even traded dishes just to taste our plates. The service was great all around. I recommend the spot for any occasion for the scenery and location.
Beautiful restaurant! Great for groups! Great food and parking too!!! We had a wonderful birthday celebration!!!
If you are a mature single, this is a great place to impress a date. Combination of good food, enough privacy between tables to talk, noise level is lively but manageable and the wait staff is considerate and reasonably attentive. The surrounding area also provides a pleasing post dinner promenade by the river. Very romantic as a package.
Very tasteful food. Slightly pricey for the portion served but overall very good.
Great place and good service. Food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone that loves Italian food.
Food couldn’t be any better everything was delicious
Service was great
Nicely decorated rich looking restaurant
The food was amazing, great wine selection. The time between the courses was good. The place is beautifully decorated and comfortable. Great ambiance.
My only complaint was our server, not the best experience.
He barely explained the menu or talk with us. Even asked if we had any allergies or stuff. He was polishing silverware or talking with another tables instead. I hope you read this message and do something with the staff. I don’t expect to build a relationship with the waiter. But you have to be more aware if we need something. At some point we barely have water.
Great experience overall, except for our waiter.
Amazing food and wine!!!! And cheap wine bottle prices!!! A WIN!
Gnocchi pesto was outstanding!! Delicious sparkling rose too!
Amazing ambiance and great service. Everybody was so kind, food was delicious, it was a beautiful restaurant in a great area! Highly recommend
My partner and I went to La Nonna for a quiet Italian dinner but barely ate the food. The chicken in the chicken parm was tough and hard to cut and the fish my partner had was only okay. We took one meal home simply because the amount we did not eat felt rude to leave.
Nothing about it screamed delicious and it was way too overpriced to be of such poor quality. We will not be returning.
The food is excellent but service declined as the night went on. They sent out a lovely birthday cake with a sparkler! Super fun!
Went to LaNonna to celebrate Millees 60th birthday had a wonderful time. The food was great and the staff were very accommodating. Will denfintly go visit again soon.
Wonderful date, friendly service and excellent food. Who can ask for more. I’ve eaten here several times in the past and it’s always a pleasure. I don’t care what you order, all the dishes are excellent. This restaurant won’t disappoint.
This restaurant is consistently good and we are lucky to have it on our doorstep’s atmosphere and service is also wonderful definitely give it a try if you’re in the Williamsburg area
The food was amazing! The service was amazing. Management is always making sure everything is going good. All of the quests that I have taken to La Nonna all loved the food and it’s hard to please everyone. La Nonna become our “go to” place. I strongly recommend eating here. The only problem I have there is trying to figure out what to eat. It’s all good!
This restaurant is run by a husband and wife team, who really care! The staff is remarkably courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious. Spacious, appropriate noise level and delicious. I’d called it a trifecta!
Great food, nice wine and excellent service. Enjoyed immensely.
Good restaurants if you have a big family group. Location is great. Service is really slow but they are nice. Food is just ok. Price is good for the food they have. I’ll return with my kids and parents because of the location and size of the place. We are not really foody people so it won’t heart to go back
Bus boy bringing out the food three silverware on table and splattered my wife clothing the server dropped water from shrimp tray on my wife who has shell fish allergies. I understand it was an accident but I noticed all servers were over worked so service suffers
Great food. Great service. We were pleasantly surprised as it was our first visit.
We sat outside on a lovely summer evening...food was fabulous and even though we were close to the street, noise was not a problem. Great service too. We’ll return on our next trip!
Food was excellent. We had to wait 35 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. Asked for more bread but they never brought it. For the price of the dinner, the service should have been better.
