I have dine at La Morra for a work group dinner upstairs and was very impressed with the service and the amazing quality of the food! This time it was for a very special personal occasion and it was also restaurant week! We had dinner downstairs this time. The customer services was outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious!! The four course menu choice was awesome! The wine selection was great too! Can't wait to go back!
The food was excellent, the waiter was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, the wine list is original, it's a great spot for innovative Italian dining.
La Morra is a fantastic restaurant, we have been several times during the last few years, most recently we went for Boston's Dine Out -- formerly called Restaurant week, it was wonderful, some restaurants skimp during this promotion, not so La Morra, the food was creative, plentiful and delicious!
La Morra is an unobtrusive treasure. The food is exquisitely prepared, ranging from exotic options, such as the sage leaves fried with anchovies (small, tasty crisp bites) to familiar Italian specialties such as risotto (exceptionally creamy and studded with mushrooms.) The wait staff know their wine list well. We chose wine flights to accompany the restaurant week menu. That happy coincidence made the dinner inexpensive but other weeks it is very reasonable. Yes, parking is a challenge but rise above it! For a quiet, delicious meal, try La Morra.
A group of friends went for and all had the Dine Out Boston week fixed price menu ($38). It was an excellent value and the best Restaurant Week menu I have seen this year , There were 4 courses with 4-5 options for each course as well as other items on each course with a slight up charge. The servings were generous for a tasting menu and the quality of the food and presentation was excellent.
The service from the bartender , a very friendly and informative native Londoner who provides samples tastes and guidance on wine by the glass as well as the several craft beers on tap, to our server who was friendly and attentive but never intrusive, was excellent.
The pastas were all fresh made and delicious and the ragu was particularly authentic and outstanding. The wood grilled swordfish with mussels, roasted garlic and black lentils was a great main course and we finished with a chocolate black forest cake and coffee. A very enjoyable evening of good food, wine, and atmosphere well worth the visit
Love this restaurant. The food is always outstanding.
I have eaten many times at LaMorra and always love the food and totally enjoy the staff
Love La Morra. It would take a pretty big catastrophe to change that. Normally everything feels special, but this time, on a Sat night, the service was only fair. We were left alone a lot, server didn’t seem to have expansive knowledge of the menu, and timing just felt off in comparison with previous visits. It wasn’t terrible by any means but just gave me pause. Bolognese was spectacular as usual!
The food was great. I ate their three days in a row in order to try most of the menu. The kitchen was great, the staff extremely friendly. I would definitely revisit. Thank you
Outstanding as usual.
Haven't been there in ages. Convenient street parking on a Monday night. Upstairs room was quiet enough for easy conversation, which matters to me. We had salads and pasta entrees that were quite good (the latter a bit over-salted) and excellent value for money compared to the local competition. The wine list was particularly well represented with Italian reds of all varietals and some interesting blends. This is the sort of place I could go back to frequently - relatively simple, well prepared food and quiet but not at all stodgy atmosphere. I really liked that the entrees (at least the ones we had) offered mezzo portions.
The food was amazing. So delicious it tasted almost farm-to-table. Very fresh. I had such a hard time deciding what to order!!
Pan roasted haddock excellent.
The special fried breaded ? scrod not so good
Chocolate cake with cherry sauce terrific
The food was delicious and the service was very good! We look forward to coming back on our next trip to Boston.
Enjoyed the meal tremendously. Great services. salads creative and meal worthy.
Bolognese different and terrific.
Loved the food and service! Also, welcoming and friendly staff.
Brookline is so lucky to have La Morra right here. Chef Emily is amazing; she is always finding new combinations which we love. Our dietary restrictions only seem to fuel more creativity. We had a delicious dinner, wonderful wine, and the servers were friendly, helpful, and sensitive, a perfect combination of attentive and giving us privacy.
Always a wonderful choice of where to go for a nice dinner with friends.
My entire party agreed that the food was delicious. One concern about our order was it was the full-size choice and we thought it was a little on the small side. Atmosphere was fabulous and tremendous service.
Best kept secret in Brookline! Fresh ingredients, creative gourmet selections and the best cocktails ever! It's our favorite restaurant bar none and we will continue to go there- highly recommend this restaurant!
I took a 12 year hiatus from La Morra but recently starting coming back almost weekly brink friends along for the ride. Everyone is surprised how great the food is and how warm the atmosphere is. The staff are very cordial and polite.
We keep coming back and look forward to our next visit.
Wonderful. Creative cuisine with unusual Italian fusion dishes. Really had a great evening.
Very friendly and knowledgeable service, but slow. Maybe it was the kitchen. Food is very good and has interesting angles and combinations.
Another delicious meal at La Morra. We all loved our food and wine- always a pleasure to eat here- Stephanie is always so welcoming and warm- great wait staff-
We had the cod, so delicious, the bolognese and the vongole, all so good-
Thank you again and again.
Simply exceptional food and wine.
The vegetable and bread "soup", Ribollita, was delicious, flavorful, and inventive. The bolognese was yummy. The steak was mediocre and had an odd finish to it from the grill.
Wonderful meal. All of it. Better than some of the meals I had in Italy. I will be back and continue to refer people.
My husband and I go to La Morra for every celebration—birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, graduations, you name it—and we always love everything we order. Great wine selection, varied menu with light and rich options alike (the dual sizes for pasta dishes are key—we tend to get the small sizes so we can get lots of apps), fresh bread and homemade ricotta with every meal, tempting desserts, and an intimate but not stuffy atmosphere with friendly staff. Easily one of the best Italian restaurants in the area.
Always a great meal!
La Morra never disappoints, however, on this particular visit, we experienced a very strange, loud and distracting noise throughout dinner. It truly became a distraction and our waiter didn't seem too worried about that. He also didn't seem to have a great grasp of details on menu items. All other elements of service were excellent - as always. And, the food? Delicious.
Wonderful as always, even though we sat at the bar. We had a great view of the Chef in the kitchen working on her masterpieces. The pate was outstanding, lamb stew special & the Bolognese were terrific. This place is one of our favorites.
Good wine list but totally mediocre food... prices are fair, but food is just way too basic/boring. Will not be back.
I really enjoyed our waitress. Very good service. They really take care of you at La Morra.
great wine selection. My meal this visit was not the best but in the past had a great meal.
Would definitely go back and try a different entree
The food was delicious, especially the meatballs and arancini. Service was excellent though the bar was a bit slow. Cocktails were good though rather weak. A $12 cocktail should not be weak.
The menu is wonderful and the prix fixe with wine pairings is a great experience. Portion sizes are enormous, even with the tasting menu.
Unfortunately, having to ask for our wine pairings on several courses because our server was hanging out talking with staff was not great.
We went early, it was not busy when we arrived.
Outstanding, once again. Each dish more delicious than the last. Service very good on a busy Friday night, managing several big groups but our little table of four never slipped through the cracks as I feared we might. Well done!
The food was good but there is nothing to damper the noise, so for some people it is hard to hear.
Charming spot with friendly staff and great food. We sat upstairs - loved the exposed beams and brick. A bit noisy and not easy to find parking nearby. Bo all in all worth it!
My wife and I have dined here many times over the past 10 years. Our experience last evening was as exceptional as we have come to expect. We chose the $40 Fixed Price menu - an excellent 4 course meal that was too much for us to finish. Parsnip and garlic soup and salad were both excellent followed by rigatoni and chicken meatballs cooked perfectly. Main courses were equally good and nice desserts (egg nog flan) completed the meal. Try the Roma cocktail for a wonderful fig infused bourbon. The staff are all friendly and helpful - overall consistently terrific dining near Brookline Village.
