La Mirabelle Ratings and Reviews
La Mirabelle is our FAVORITE restaurant...................now we don't have to go back to Paris to eat French food anymore. We love having Krystele as our server, she knows all about the menu and wines and she's so pleasant and friendly. Thanks for always making our dinners wonderful!!
This is a favorite neighborhood spot. There are so few authentic French restaurants in NYC that it’s wonderful that this one is not only surviving but thriving. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The staff is welcoming. The food is reliably good. The duck with plum sauce is a particular favorite.
An old, established favorite that is not just for old folks! Real French cooking, sans the extravagant use of butter, in a homey place that knows what it's doing — including NO thumping music to shoo you out! Some find it pricey — until they eat there. I swooned over the classic cod special.
Again, thank goodness for La Mirabell. Delicious, unfussy food, excellent service, a very good wine list, and a quiet adult atmosphere. No loud music or loud people. I can't say enough good things about it. Try the escargot, venison, calves liver, veal stew, warm goat cheese salad, duck. All just delicious!! Thank you La Mirabelle!
The service was great. The people I was dining with really enjoyed their meals. I found my pasta to be incredibly greasy, though I enjoyed the flavor, and the appetizer we got (a salad) was overdressed and soggy. They both ordered meat dishes which they thought were fabulous. The service was excellent and the atmosphere charming.
We travel down from Westchester two or three times a years to dine at this absolutely charming
French restaurant where the food never disappoints. La Mirabelle is about as authentic as it gets, without having to fly to Paris. Book ahead if you want to get in on a weekend.
The more I think of this place, the more I like it. It's a bit old-school French - but that is a winning feature here. This place is sooo comfortable - it's great on the first visit, but even better on the nth. Great food with genuine warmth from the owners and staff. MERCI!
We love this restaurant. How they have managed to stay in this wonderful space is a mystery. Hugh ceilings old style white table cloth restaurant. Classic french food. Salads and Vegetables are terrific and the salmon divine. Monk fish a tad overdone but very tasty. Good service, no rushing and tables far enough apart to have a real conversation.
This is a wonderful place to go for a special occasion or even for an occasion you want to make special. When you cross the threshhold, you do remember your fine meals in Parisian bistros. It's a warm and delicious place. I wish they were open for lunch because I'd go there more often, but I'll take what I can get. My friend and I went on Thanksgiving and it was crowded but really comfortable until the last half hour when the staff really wanted us out of there. Only then was I uncomfortable, but I did actually understand as I could see the very couple they were waiting to seat. I was actually glad they are continuing to have a good crowd as I want it to be there for another decade at least.
We try to come and eat at La Mirabelle whenever we are in NYC. Love to see the quality has been maintained over many years!!!
Service was excellent---I think it was Naomi---the Blue Point oysters were superb and as always we loved the Coquille St Jacques---escargot was good and so was the pepper steak and Chateauneuf du Pape. All around great romantic dining!!
