La Mirabelle Ratings and Reviews
We dined on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is beautifully presented. It’s appealing with a warm, inviting ambiance. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation. The food was delicious. Our waitress was lovely but very busy. It really was a fine experience overall. One of the waitresses has a beautiful singing voice and sang a beautiful French song to a woman there celebrating her birthday with family. Lots of fun!
I had a birthday dinner here with six people. We all really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very like a French provincial restaurant -- the waiting staff are mostly older ladies and it's pleasantly unpretentious. The food is very much traditional French cooking, no huge surprises but very well cooked, hearty and delicious. The wine list is of course very good. Three of us hd the bouillabaisse which was terrific but the duck also got high praise. Overall a lovely evening.
The food was absolutely spectacular. Our waitress, Krystle I believe her name was, was so helpful as we knew nothing about French cuisine. She mentioned she had been there working with her family for ten years at the restaurant. You could tell.
Not only was our waitress extremally insightful but the service all around from the staff was 5 star. I don't usually frequent places like this but I would most definitely go again. I highly recommend trying this place at least once. If you have never had French cuisine or really enjoy it this is a must try in the area.
The wine list is great, the drinks were fantastic, and the prices weren't overwhelming.
I truly loved the ambiance...
Two friends and I had a fantastic, delicious meal in peaceful surroundings. The service is excellent--not intrusive. We were quite late for our reservation (long story and I'm not recommending anyone else do that), but we were nevertheless treated with courtesy and graciousness. I LOVE how easily you can have a conversation at La Mirabelle--no loud music. Perfect for friends who want to hear one another's voices and not the din of a crowd.
La mirabelle is a neighborhood treasure for many years. Danielle Rupert, whose paintings line the room, and who Edith Piaf likevoice fills them, is a lovely local treasure, as well. The food is direct French country cuisine. Comforting, alongside always wonderful French bread.
I booked this reservation with a promise of 1000pts. When we got to the location it was ok but not what I was looking for. However our server was very helpful and sweet. The setting is cozy and intimate. It was my daughter’s birthday and they sang happy birthday to her opera style which was a nice touch. The food was ok but not exceptional for the price. Overall a nice family celebration of my daughter’s birthday. When I got home I realized the 1000pts was switched to 100pts-not sure what happened. Thanks to the staff for a nice birthday for my daughter.
Very dependable and authentic French cuisine. Nice seasonal selection on the menu and a few dishes that are always there. Good appetizer choices. Food is fresh, well-prepared and tasty. Service is relaxed and attentive. Definitely a "go to" upper West-side French restaurant. Make a reservation as it can get crowded on weekends.
Delicious duck! And fabulous service. I hosted a party for a friend, and everything I asked for -- round table, attentive server -- was handled with grace and applomb. We had a wonderful time and all enjoyed our delicious meal. Our party guest was positively delighted. And one of the servers belted out the most wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday in French (or maybe Italian).
La Mirabelle is our FAVORITE restaurant...................now we don't have to go back to Paris to eat French food anymore. We love having Krystele as our server, she knows all about the menu and wines and she's so pleasant and friendly. Thanks for always making our dinners wonderful!!
This is a favorite neighborhood spot. There are so few authentic French restaurants in NYC that it’s wonderful that this one is not only surviving but thriving. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The staff is welcoming. The food is reliably good. The duck with plum sauce is a particular favorite.
An old, established favorite that is not just for old folks! Real French cooking, sans the extravagant use of butter, in a homey place that knows what it's doing — including NO thumping music to shoo you out! Some find it pricey — until they eat there. I swooned over the classic cod special.
