La Mirabelle promises and delivers a classic French restaurant experience. Everything is professional, satisfyingly, generous , and delicious. At trendy places I oftenwhiles have wished for less pretense and more substance. La Mirabelle is the time tested antidote to such folly. A place for all occasions. Really wonderful!
I haven't been back to Mirabelle for many years. I frequented this place when it was close to Riverside Drive and still when it moved to Columbus. Having memories of the great asparagus vinaigrette and wanting that again I made a reservation. That particular appetizer was disappointing, as there were very few skinny asparagus and not much flavor to the scant vinaigrette but the portobello mushroom appetizer was fantastic. The sweetbreads and salmon entrees were good but a bit overcooked. The service was friendly and perfect. Because the price point for the value seems high now I won't recommend it going forward. Love the paintings! Miss the old wait staff and Anique.
The prices have increased across the board, and service seemed less attentive than in the past, not a good trend line, but the food is plentiful and good.
Our favorite place to dine in NYC. We've been going their for more than 30 years and it has always been rewarding. Highly recommended.
Disappointing compared to previous experience there. The waitress seemed to abandon us - very very slow in taking order or getting food. Then the salad was too soggy as if sitting a long time. The monkfish - their regular dish was undercooked and vegetables over cooked.
I doubt I will go there again.
I don't go to La Mirabelle often enough. Whenever I go I am impressed with the suburb quality of its traditional French cuisine, the quiet attentiveness of its staff and the always pleasurable dining experience that ensues. If you have an interest in theater, chances are you will see a couple of stalwart Broadway performers enjoying a meal there too. All in all, never a bad way to spend an evening.
Neighborhood French: Excellent meal, cozy ambiance. Crowded and noisy on Sat night. We did not sit down until 8:45. Crowd thinned, noise abated as we dined, and we were treated to a concert by our server, Danielle, singing Edith Piaf songs. She was a marvelous older woman from the south of France, whose paintings hang on all the walls. She made it an experience extraordinaire! Lovely!
This family french neighborhood restaurant was bustling on Saturday night. The hostess was extremely pleasant and professional and clearly concerned that we had to wait for our table. Once seated the service was great and the food better than ever. The last 2 times the chef has really been on. Compliments to the entire staff.
Enchanting little French restaurant, open every evening. Gracious servers, lovely food, and every once in a while you'll get to hear the proprietress sing (she sounds just like Edith Piaf)!
The rack of lamb and the escargot were marvelous. Great martini, and a wide selection of wine.
We dined on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is beautifully presented. It’s appealing with a warm, inviting ambiance. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation. The food was delicious. Our waitress was lovely but very busy. It really was a fine experience overall. One of the waitresses has a beautiful singing voice and sang a beautiful French song to a woman there celebrating her birthday with family. Lots of fun!
I had a birthday dinner here with six people. We all really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very like a French provincial restaurant -- the waiting staff are mostly older ladies and it's pleasantly unpretentious. The food is very much traditional French cooking, no huge surprises but very well cooked, hearty and delicious. The wine list is of course very good. Three of us hd the bouillabaisse which was terrific but the duck also got high praise. Overall a lovely evening.
The food was absolutely spectacular. Our waitress, Krystle I believe her name was, was so helpful as we knew nothing about French cuisine. She mentioned she had been there working with her family for ten years at the restaurant. You could tell.
Not only was our waitress extremally insightful but the service all around from the staff was 5 star. I don't usually frequent places like this but I would most definitely go again. I highly recommend trying this place at least once. If you have never had French cuisine or really enjoy it this is a must try in the area.
The wine list is great, the drinks were fantastic, and the prices weren't overwhelming.
I truly loved the ambiance...
The roof exploded when a water pipe broke.
What a valantines day.
Did not give us free drinks
Good food served by a very professional staff in a pleasant atmosphere.
Servers were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Lovely spot . No wonder it is a neighborhood gem. We travel from the Upper East Side to go to this restaurant.
Two friends and I had a fantastic, delicious meal in peaceful surroundings. The service is excellent--not intrusive. We were quite late for our reservation (long story and I'm not recommending anyone else do that), but we were nevertheless treated with courtesy and graciousness. I LOVE how easily you can have a conversation at La Mirabelle--no loud music. Perfect for friends who want to hear one another's voices and not the din of a crowd.
Excellent food and service. Cozy interior. Duckling with Mirrabelle plums is a five star.
We celebrated my wife's birthday at La Mirabelle. There is a chanteuse among the wait-staff with a convincing Edith Piaf-like voice, which adds a lovely touch to the ambience. We ate upstairs, which I thought was great, and helped with our family conversation. Good, buttery french food.
Wonderful, suthentic French country cuisine, imaginative combinations of seasonal fare, beautiful service and French chanteuse!
La mirabelle is a neighborhood treasure for many years. Danielle Rupert, whose paintings line the room, and who Edith Piaf likevoice fills them, is a lovely local treasure, as well. The food is direct French country cuisine. Comforting, alongside always wonderful French bread.
Reliable neighbourhood bistro - never disappoints!
Like eating in home kitchen in the French countryside!
I booked this reservation with a promise of 1000pts. When we got to the location it was ok but not what I was looking for. However our server was very helpful and sweet. The setting is cozy and intimate. It was my daughter’s birthday and they sang happy birthday to her opera style which was a nice touch. The food was ok but not exceptional for the price. Overall a nice family celebration of my daughter’s birthday. When I got home I realized the 1000pts was switched to 100pts-not sure what happened. Thanks to the staff for a nice birthday for my daughter.
Very dependable and authentic French cuisine. Nice seasonal selection on the menu and a few dishes that are always there. Good appetizer choices. Food is fresh, well-prepared and tasty. Service is relaxed and attentive. Definitely a "go to" upper West-side French restaurant. Make a reservation as it can get crowded on weekends.
Delicious duck! And fabulous service. I hosted a party for a friend, and everything I asked for -- round table, attentive server -- was handled with grace and applomb. We had a wonderful time and all enjoyed our delicious meal. Our party guest was positively delighted. And one of the servers belted out the most wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday in French (or maybe Italian).
This is a lovely spot serving classic French cuisine
Come on Friday nights for the best bouillabaisse ever...must reserve.
We love this family run neighborhood gem. Great classic French food at reasonable prices that’s hard to find in New York today.
Scrumptious duckling, as well as other delectables, and excellent service. This is a friendly, no-snobbery place I have enjoyed for years. Authentic French feel. Love it.
Stumbled upon this charming restaurant with authentic French cuisine The portions were hearty. The escargot and shrimp scampi delightful! Very pleasant and accommodating waiters! We'll be Back!
We eat here on a regular basis. We expect an enjoyable meal and are never disappointed. Yes, we live a block away and have been eating here for years. We even went to restaurant when it was smaller and between RSD and WEA. It is always a treat
Wonderful evening great all around. We will return.
What more can I say, absolutely delicious!! We had a wonderful evening and we will be back.
Good old fashioned French country food, generously prepared and served.
This is truly the gem of the UWS. Food and service are superior. Food is always fabulous. Ambience...like a country restaurant in France! The best!
Excellent ambience and staff
