This is a must for anyone longing for a superb traditional French meal, served by friendly, hard-working staff. The duck is amazing!
La Mirabelle never loses its charm! Classic French (try the frog legs!) and if you’re lucky, a beautiful version of La Vie en Rose ala Piaf will be sung.
Authentic and charming French bistro. Comfortable seating. There is a buzz in the atmosphere from local regulars but you can still have a quiet conversation. The food is never anything less than perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
A reliable and traditional French restaurant. Wonderfully friendly staff. An older clientele.
Another fine 9 o’clock dinner following astrophysics lecture at nearby AMNH. Shared bottle of Bordeaux, endive salad, sautéed chicken livers with wilted greens, steak au poivre, chocolate gelato.
La Mirabelle is a happy consistently good place for dinner.
Great food. Elegant but comfortable dining.
Always superb, in every way!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience--and the singing is also devine!
My friends and I had a delightful evening at La Mirabelle. My friends can be pretty fussy so the fact that they were so happy speaks well for the restaurant.
The drive from Westchester County to W.86th street was well worth it. La Mirabelle never disappoints.
Four of us had varied dishes from duck, sole, and cassoulet, to the swordfish special. All were
wonderful! This place is cozy and makes you feel that you are in a Parisian bistro. I highly recommend the
crispy duck, which is hard to find these days.
We enjoyed our pre-show dinner at LeMeribelle very much. The ambiance was very authentic & comfortable. The food was good. We had the monk fish & the duck, which we both liked. I really liked the endive salad & the scallop special. The staff was warm, friendly and efficient. I understand why they have a loyal following and LeMirabelle is considered a neighborhood gem.
Great restaurant with excellent service, ambiance and food.
French charm and authentic food. Quietest tables on upper level good for leisurely dining. Reasonable wine selections
My favorite restaurant in NY!
Wonderful food and gracious service. Lovely room.
Very generous steak au poivre, prepared just right. Halibut could have tasted fresher
If you desire Coq au Vin on Mondays be sure to reserve the dish when making the reservation as we had a 7:15 P. M. reservation but the dish was ‘sold out’
The mussels (moules) and frites were delicious though.
Charming little neighborhood gem. Staff was exceptional. Everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely will add to our favorites
charming neighborhood bistro with reliable and delicious food, very generous portions.
Live in the neighborhood and don’t come here often but that may change. On a Sat night five people had a relaxed dinner with quiet conversation. Everyone was happy with their food choices which included specials of butternut squash soup and beet salad and the Shrimp Scampi, salmon, pasta bolgnese and a halibut special. Everyone was happy with their choices and the service was good. Will definitely be back.
We love La Mirabelle! We have brought some friends there from time to time, and have also
recommended it to other friends who love it as well. Bravo for your menu, for your food, for your ambiance, for the wonderful staff.
One of the few fine restaurants left that serves the traditional French dishes from before the days of nouvelle cuisine. Pricy but delicious. Attractive dining room and particularly pleasant on the balcony.
Had a yen for shrimp scampi; my husband had sole Meunière on his mind - Mirabelle was THE place- both meals were fantastic, both w/ the shoestring fries. The restaurant maintains its French (but friendly!) ambiance.
This is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of eating. We started going to this restaurant 28 years ago and have never been dissatisfied. Highly recommended.
Terrific service and delicious food and wine. My only mild complaint is that it's a bit pricey. But if you know that going in, you will have a wonderful time.
We LOVED the welcome-to-our-family atmosphere! The food and service were superb. It’s zoomed to the top of our favorites list!
Great birthday experience...
Food was delicious, portions bigger then your average French restaurant, especially in NYC.
What a delightful evening! The service was attentive, friendly, and professional, and the food was delicious. I had a beet and chèvre salad, and my husband had escargot- both classic French dishes executed well. For our main courses he had duck with mirabelle plums, and I had the best ris-de-veau I’ve ever eaten. The ris-de-veau slices were cooked perfectly, and the Grenobloise sauce was delicate yet full of flavor. When I asked if the kitchen made its own stock to make the delicious sauces, she said the chef was proud of his stocks.
I thoroughly enjoyed dining in a restaurant that relied on classic techniques and excellent food ingredients. Foam and deconstructed dishes can be interesting and delicious, but the perfectly executed classic dishes were a treat that is getting harder to find.
Just a wonderful place to “dine” not just eat.
Our meal was delicious, and the special treat was that our server, Danielle, had the most amazing voice and sang for another table, and then us. It was a special night, and truly delightful.
A neighborhood gem!
I love this place. The food is wonderful. Usually my friend and I eat early, about 5:30, and of course it's nearly empty when we arrive. By the time it starts to get crowded and noisy, we're ready to leave, which works out very well. Two days ago, because I made the reservation late to accommodate a friend from out of town, the earliest I could take was 7:45. When we arrived, it was crowded and noisy, but as we ate and talked and talked and ate, the noise receded, and the place gradually emptied out, so we were not rushed to leave. That worked out very well too!
As usual, a lovely evening. Wonderful food and wine, great service.
It was a special occasion and we felt treated as such, The menu is wonderful, each choice we made was terrific. The service was warm, caring and professional. Just a delightful evening.
The food is always just terrifically delicious. The service is unobtrusively efficient. The ambiance is very pleasant — no music, only one short outburst of loud, raucous talk and laughter among other patrons of the restaurant.
My wife and I had dinner at this quaint French restaurant. We both had duck which was moist inside, crispy outside with a nice plum sauce. The appetizers where great as well as the mango sorbet.
We will definitely go back.
Still the best classic French food in the City. Charming room and friendly service. Always order the duck.
Loved it. It is like the restaurants I went to as a child in NYC.. very old NYC..
GREAT! My favorite
This is a great restaurant in which to have a quiet conversation. The service is wonderful. The wines are excellent. The food is not as good as it used to be. The coquilles St. Jacques were drowned in cheese. This works for onion soup but not for seafood. Cheese should never be combined with seafood.
Excellent dining experience. I want to go back and hear Danielle sing more.
On Saturday, September 7, 2019, my wife and I had dinner there. It was excellent. The server was very good. The food was excellent. I had asparagus. My wife had the Portobello Mushrooms. We had Bouillabaisse. It came with a whole lobster. It was very rich. The portion was very big. We had a lemon tarte. It was very big. Next time, we will get the fish.
