Food was very good, but waited (literally) 10 minutes to get the check after we had clearly finished.
Finally, a restaurant that recalls what dining is all about. Food that you do not cook at home (like sweetbreads, kidneys, etc), good wine at a very reasonable markup, white tablecloths, solicitous service, and a soothing and quiet ambiance.
In other words, a restaurant that doesn’t try to be a bar.
Always terrific! Traditional French cooking, wonderful selections of classic dishes and wam service - unreservedly recommended!
I always feel like I have gone back to Paris in a different era, when we go to La Mirabelle.
Other couples whom we have brought there, always become repeat customers. The
food is delicious, from duck to seafood to the steak. Seems like mostly a neighborhood
crowd - not at all a tourist trap, but we regularly drive down from Westchester, and it
is well worth the drive!
Great filet of sole and wonderful server!
Forgetful servers. Not very welcoming
This restaurant never fails to please. The wait staff is polite and attentive. I was part of a party of 7 and everyone was pleased with their meal. In addition to very good food and service, the surroundings are such that conversation is not an effort because the sound level is quiet. All in all a lovely place to dine.
Lovely neighborhood gem serving French bistro type food. Service was excellent, not hurried but attentive and the food (especially dessert!) was outstanding. We live about 20 blocks away, but will definitely return!
Classic, carefully prepared and delicious French food. Wonderful for special occasions, making one grateful to be living in the UWS in Manhattan!
Very nice restaurant, good food, excellent service and the singingenjoyable.
Pleasant, traditional French restaurant -- perfect for us older people who hate noisy restaurants. Classic fare, very well prepared.
Second time at this place. Couldn't have been happier with everything.
Great spot. I loved the ambiance. Perfect everyday dining. Wonderful staff. Loved the singing waitress, Danielle. Food was good as it gets. Best value I have had in NYC.
One of our absolute favorites, a neighborhood gem! The family business atmosphere is so lovely, so focused on customer service and great quality French bistro cuisine.
Wonderful as always. Get the duck!
One of our favorite French restaurants. Never disappoints.
This was always a standby and favorite. It could be because our dinner was on NY Eve but the food was less than average and certainly not up to past meals. Disappointed.
It was crowded, especially given that it was between holidays. Which shows that it is a dependable restaurant with a following. They always have interesting specials and I have never had a bad meal there. It is a neighborhood gem.
Really authentic- you think you’re in Paris. Great Food, wonderful staff
We feel so fortunate to have this gem in our neighborhood. Everything is delicious and there are enough specials to keep us coming back time and again. Being francophiles but traveling less and less to France, we feel transported by regular visits to La Mirabelle which captures the spirit and gastronomic delight of our past trips.
It was an awesome birthday
I even saw some genuinely young people last time I went to Mirabelle...guess the very longstandng secret of a reasonable, cozy, reliable French restaurant is capturing millennials' hearts too!
Warm, sophisticated and authentic French Bistro that never, ever fails to satisfy. Its like a little bit of Paris on the UWS... but even better.
Extraordinary as always...
We had a good sampling of some of the pricier offerings: roasted duckling, beef Wellington, rack of lamb, red snapper. And when I say pricier, its a bit of an understatement. - Hence one reason my review isn't a stellar 5 stars. The food was excellent and that is why I would recommend La Mirabelle to anyone who appreciates fine food. However, I can't help but wonder if the prices are not somewhat off-putting. Aside from the fare and the costs, the ambiance was a bit lacking. - This was perhaps due to the fact that we were seated upstairs in the corner. Half of our meal we ate alone and apart from the rest of the patrons. The isolation was made more apparant by the questionable absence of any background music. Oh well, as I wrote earlier, the food was excellent.
Service was friendly and professional, food was beautifully presented and delicious, and atmosphere was conducive to conversation and unhurried dining. This was the first time we tried La Mirabelle for Christmas dinner, having eaten here several times before, and, God willing, we shall again celebrate the holidays with them.
Our first time finally. We live in the neighborhood
It was superbly outstanding. Everything was exquisitely delicious
Service was impeccable
Will make this a regular for special and more often
Christmas Eve celebration was perfect!
Food not hot. Spoiled good taste of quiche
KNOWLEDGABLE SERVER, ATTENTIVE, AS ALWAYS GOOD FOOD IF SOMEWHAT PRICEY. GOOD PORTIONS AND ALWAYS PLEASANT.
Great as always
This is one of our favorite restaurants on the upper westside. The food is wonderful. My husband and I shared mussels as an appetizer the other night, incredibly good. The mussels were large, the sauce, which we sopped up with crusty bread, delicious. The rest of the meal, Rack of Lamb for me and duck for my husband, excellent. Dessert, a fruit tart, yum. Our server friendly, but never fawning. This is not a fancy shmancy restaurant-just great food. Not cheap but worth every penny.
We sat upstairs so it was relatively calm and quiet - food was very good. Enjoyed it overall
Great food. Monkfish with lobster sauce was luxurious creamy fish and flavorful lobster sauce. Very friendly service.
Reliably delicious food, coupe aux marrons excellent, comfortingly traditional French
Excellent- have not been in years and all four of us loved the food- will be returning.
definitely for an older crowd as the food is heavy, Alsatian style but well prepared.
This is a staple for the neighborhood...and has been there for ages.
The food is perfectly French and prepared exceptionally well. Ah, yes, the sweetbreads! Neither my husband nor I could resist them. In fact, that was the plan well before our arrival. They were lightly sauteed impeccably with the addition of lemon -- splendid. The oysters appetizer was ooh la la, and my husband loved the chicken liver appetizer. This is a full menu, and I am ready to return very soon. The ambiance and service add to the experience of the food. Oh, let me not forget the peach melba, which we shared. Please, do not consider this as just a neighborhood place; Mirabelle is worth your trip to the upper west side.
La Mirabelle never disappoints. Food and service are always excellent. Love this restaurant.
Neighborhood reliable gem.
