Excellent food and service. Price excessive to make up for lack of liquor license.
One of the best Italian places in the Princeton area. For seafood options I ordered the mussels and octopus and fettuccine with crab meat- the seafood was fresh and cooked very well. We also ordered the boar pappardelle and the boar did not taste gamy either. Service was good and they were very attentive with orders and food arrival was fast
Great Port Osbuco and BYOB. Good service and other friends enjoyed their dinners as well.
With all the great restaurants in Princeton we thought we’d give this a try; have heard great things from friends. Bland decor, loud (echoey) interior. The food was just ok, had soggy halibut (special) and ravioli appetizer. Unremarkable flavors, decent portion sizes.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
BYOB, small space. But awesome food.
I enjoyed my pre-birthday dinner, with my best friend. I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by the good service and food.
Very good food. Excellent service. The waiter understood we were going on to a concert and ensured we received our meal promptly. The only downside was that it was rather expensive.
One of the best calamari...not oily and not much flour. Service was fine but could be improved. The place is small and they’re probably short of servers that we had to wait and ask to refill our glass of water. Took a while too to ask for the menu for desserts. So nice to see the actual chef deliver the meal but he doesn’t smile and we can feel his stress😀
Great food and service - excellent value, and BYOB enhances value further.
Great food
We were a party of four prior to theater. Service was very good, especially as the restaurant filled up on Sat. evening. Noise level was acceptable. Our food was variable. My Bronzino was good. However, one person was not pleased with the sauce on his pasta. value was enhanced by BYOB policy. The consensus was mixed.
Food was good
Service was good
Overall good experience
Wonderfully nice waiter. App polenta special was delicious. The risotto was also very good. The seated tuna special was ok. I would return and enjoy a different dish.
This post-concert Sunday dinner was very enjoyable. Once again, there's always that mix of great food and friendly service.
What a wonderful gem, right off Nassau Street in Princeton. For our girls' lunch, we were looking for a BYOB place with reasonably priced entrees. We found it! The food was delicious and the service outstanding. This will be our new go-to place in Princeton.
Excellent antipasto, lobster ravioli, wild mushrooms side dish, risotto and tiramisu. Nice
selection of specials including veal osso bucco and Dover sole . This is a BYOB restaurant.
Always good, never disappoints. Great fresh food, perfectly cooked.
Always a favorite in Princeton. Excellent food and service.
I chose La Mezzaluna as the place to celebrate my partner Joseph's birthday. What a great choice. Our server, William was as fantastic as the food and the friendly atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Mimimalistically decorated which fit perfectly with the lively crowd and gorgeous food. Anything else would have taken away from that. We will definitely dine there again when we are in the area. The fact that it is BYOB is great too. There's a fantastic wine selection at the liquor store right next door!
The only restaurant with real food that doesn't try to be something that it isn't. Like every other 'fancy' restaurant in Princeton. And it's BYOB!
We went for a meal on a Saturday night and had a wonderful time. Our food was delivered very promptly by the wonderful wait staff and we could not have been more pleased. For starters, our fancy crabcake was out of this world! My very generous veal, sausage and mushroom dish was flat-out fabulous as was my wife's pork. For dessert we had first-rate tiramisu and very good coffee. The owner hovered around making sure everything was perfect and made us feel very comfortable and right at home. His warm, inviting presence created a very friendly atmosphere. All I can say is by all means try La Mezzaluna yourself and you'll see what I mean. But make sure to make a reservation as this restaurant draws lots of very loyal customers. Enjoy!
Would not suggest trying on a holiday. We were rushed through a 3 course meal in 45 mins with not even an offer of coffee. The eggplant was the star of the meal although it was too big and too much cheese for an appetizer portion. The flounder was tender but drowned in a tasteless sauce. Dessert was good but not remarkable. This was our second try here. We’ve heard raves from others and decided to give it a second try after a less-than memorable first dining experience. We won’t be back. Too many other better restaurants in the area.
Outstanding meal and very good service. The owner is delightful.
Great food, with pretty presentation. Nice, attentive staff and good service. Like many restaurants nowadays, it seems that they think noisy is a plus. I disagree. At certain tables the lights were too bright.
Always awesome food and great service. Their calamari is the best.
Staff and owner are great. All food every time is great. 6 years going there and never an issue
Food was delicious and service was excellent. In addition to the BYOB option, they also have a small, limited wine list that includes half bottles. This was a great option for us as we left our wine in the car!
Very good service. Extremely accommodating for our large group. Food was a bit disappointing. Pork Osso Bucco was not very favorable and tasted a bit stale. My wife's fish was too "fishy". No one raved about their dishes but no major complaints either.
The food was amazing. My sister and I met for lunch on a Sunday and would recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic Italian cuisine. There wasn't a lot of people in when we arrived around noon. However we could easily hear the conversations from other tables. I imagine when the restaurant is full it could be quite noisy. The quality of the food and service was impeccable. We will definitely return!
The food was delicious and service was great. The tiramisu was especially top-notch!
The food was good. We'll start with that. Service outstanding if not a bit much, kept getting asked if everything was ok, even though 2 people had just asked and we were in the middle of conversing. The restaurant has horrible acoustics even though it looks quaint. It's on the small and certainly narrow side and the sound of people talking is so loud that you can't really hear the people across the table from you. It's not a good place for an intimate date. Food was good, price was fair and the waitress "Kelly" was very nice and on top of things. All of us liked our food and once the first crowd left and the restaurant quieted down, we loved it. Because we could hear each other. The second shift /crowd came in and once again we couldn't hear each other at all. I would prefer to go back when it's not so crowded on a Saturday night.
Lunch or dinner, I always find something on the menu that I know I'll enjoy!
Food was tasty. Portions not large but enough.
Loud when crowded.
This restaurant never disappoints! We go here once a year for the past 5 years as part of a Girls Weekend. Princeton is a convenient middle town for all of us. The waiters and staff are super friendly and accommodating!
The food was very fresh and well prepared.
The seating is tightly packed and with all the hard surfaces in the restaurant it was hard to hear the person across from you.
We visited with friends. Great food. Good ambiance. Great service.
This is my favorite restaurant in Princeton. The food is superb, and William makes everyone feel welcomed. When the opportunity arises to eat out in Princeton, there is only one choice for me.
The food is delicious. Amazing risotto choices and is a BYOB which is a plus!
Would definitely return.
Excellent,but pricey food.
Nice that it was byob.
A very plain looking restaurant and extremely noisy.
Not a pleasant place to “dine” and have a conversation without shouting!
This is a regular pre-movie spot for us. Busy place, but the staff is top-notch, knowledgeable and friendly.
