La Merise was the perfect choice for our Valentine's Day dinner. The cocktails were all delicious and not overbearing, the daily Soup Du Jour special was phenomenal, and the steak was maybe the best steak I've ever had.
Best meal EVER. First time having french and I was incredibly impressed.
Loved everything about it but there was one very loud waiter at the table next to our who intruded into our space. Our waiter was great... very efficient and polite and not loudly chatting up his customers like the other waiter.
One of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner. Consistently delicious and welcoming, I never think twice about quality or the experience of dining here. If you haven’t been, go!
Consistency throughout the menu, and the house wines have been well selected and are excellent with all meals, and affordable at $8 a generous glass.
I already have. The Best Food! The serves was great and I hope to go back soon!
My favorite restaurant. Food, drinks, service, ambiance -- all my fave.
Food was very good. Atmosphere was average. Its in a sunken down location with a front courtyard. Was not busy that night so might be noisy like most places if busy. Prices good for French restaurant.
excellent service and food. We started with escargot, split a gorgonzola salad and then had the barramundi special and the steak apivore. Every dish was perfectly prepared and cooked to our liking. Also a big bonus on Sunday night is half price bottles of wine. A very nice evening with attentive service, excellent wine and food.
A terrific gem in Cherry Creek! While so many of the retailers and restaurants there have become extensions of national high-end companies, La Merise is locally owned and provides great food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and the eating area is compact without feeling crowded. Their daily menu specials are always appealing, but the regular menu items are hard to resist.
We have had dinner here several times, but this was our first brunch. Sunday brunch was as excellent as expected and as well done as their dinner service. The eggs Benedict crepes were delicious. And the Bloody Mary worthy of the name!
Amazing!! Great service! Great food!!
La Merise is fantastic. I have eaten there three times and have thought the food was excellent each time. It truly reminds me of a Paris bistro. The salmon is honestly one of my favorite salmon dishes from any restaurant in Denver. The citrus beurre blanc is outstanding, and they cook the salmon perfectly. I really love this place, and feel like it's a hidden gem among the more flashy Cherry Creek restaurants.
Visiting Cherry Creek on business and dining alone. Asked for a quiet table and got just that. Great service (even as a single). Food was great as well. Got to enjoy a good meal, in a quiet place, with excellent service all while getting some work done on my iPad. Thanks ...
Food is average, service excellent. Unable to recommend
We had an authentic French meal, with attentive but not intrusive wait staff. Pacing of the courses was excellent. Apart from dim lighting and overly intrusive music, it was a wonderful event for our birthday celebration.
Excellent food and deft service. We ordered the chicken croquettes and the steak au poivre; each was delicious. We also enjoyed the cheese platter. A lovely evening, and well worth the price.
Always comforting and delicious! The only restaurant we regularly travel across town for.
Oh la la... this place is a true Parisian restaurant. Definitely coming back.
We love this restaurant; it is one of our favorites. As usual, the food was outstanding. However, the service was mediocre. Our main server was inattentive. The guy who backed her up did his level best to ignore us. It was very off-putting, especially when you consider we are regulars, very polite & pleasant, and dressed nicely. They were not even very busy during most of our dining time. We certainly hope this doesn't happen again!
Yummy! The cheese plate is dope.
Such a great vibe, friendly servers and excellent execution of classic French Bistro dishes. Reasonable and well curated wines
We went to see the Monet exhibit and wanted to enjoy French meal after the beautiful art exhibit and La Merise did not disappoint! This was our first visit, but won't be our last! The staff was friendly and attentive and the food and drinks delicious!
Went for a lunch meeting and had a great meal. My companion had a crab and avocado salad that looked delicious and I had the crepes with lox. Both dishes were presented beautifully. Have to go back for dinner.
This is our 4th or 5th visit to La Merise and we agreed we need to visit more often. The food at La Merise is excellent. We split the foie gras torchon appetizer. I had the duck risotto and Lisa had the grouper. Both were very good. The risotto was particularly satisfying on a chilly evening. We happened in on a Sunday when bottles of wine are half-price, so we were able to enjoy a nice burgundy with our meal.
The service was very good and we'll definitely be back.
Well done La Merise!
We love this place. Today the service was off from the start. We got bottomless mimosas as we always do. We are in the industry and own a restaurant. We go to to brunch every Sunday at different places. We got there at 1230. My second mimosa took 12 min to get. Really? At 2:25 I said I’d have one more mimosa. The waitress said there was a new policy of 2 hour mimosas. So we got our first mimosa at 1240. Is that 2 hours? No it’s not. Plus the service was slow which is rare for this place. I am not happy and we will not be back. The food is great though.
French onion soup was beef broth with cheese. Waiter left before giving our check so we sat and waited until closing. Last ones in restaurant and manager heard me saying that it took such a long time to get check. He brought it over. Birthday and no celebration so we ordered the mousse.
Chocolate dessert was in fridge all night with old top.
Terrible service. Will not return.
Cozy restaurant for lunch or dinner. The crepes are fantastic!
Quiet place in Cherry Creek. Attentive staff. Food was very good, but not exceptional. Great Creme Brulee for desert. Dinner for four was $200 with 2 glasses of wine and 4 desserts. Parking was no problem.
We LOVE this restaurant. It is our "go to" for business, family and date night. They get it all right.
Our family had Sunday brunch for 6. We’ve been here many times for brunch and has always been great! Today not good, husband said his crab Benedict was not good at all! The sauce was a weird orange color and the crab wasn’t good? Also he said the cheese was clumped on the bottom! My crape had very little sauce and the cheese had gone cold so was clumpy also. Daughter said her crepe was cold and also had very skimpy béchamel sauce. I believe this was because the food sat too long before it was served, so the waiter failed?
My husband and I just love this little gem of a bistro! We most often go for weekend brunch, but opted for dinner recently to celebrate our niece's 21st birthday. All of our three entree choices were absolutely spot on. My salmon was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the cod special and he said it was one of the best cod preparations he has ever had - and also perfectly cooked. And, of course, their French Onion Soup, Escargot, Mussels, and Tuna Salad Niçoise are not to be missed. We enjoy the warm and comfortable atmosphere as well - and the moderate noise level. We'll be back again soon!
Food was excellent and the service superb!
I went to lunch at La Merise with a friend. The restaurant is cozy, quiet and peaceful. We had great service! We both ordered salads which were very good. The food is fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. I will definitely return and try other menu items.
I love this place for brunch. Romantic, great food, not too loud. We ate dinner at the bar several weeks ago and had a great meal and a fun time. Went for dinner again and sat in the dining room. The service was ridiculously slow. It took 45 minutes for the server to take our food order, and about 15 min to deliver a glass of wine I ordered. The food was really good and I love the ambiance. Will definitely return, and either go before I’m hungry or pray for better service.
Our evening at La Merise was superb. My wife and I commented to each other that it was one of the most exquisite dining experiences we have ever had. The pate of duck confit, the beef Bourguignon and the banana crepes were all equally delicious. The Chauteau Neuf du Pape wine recommended by our waiter was the perfect complement to our meal. Our waiter John could not have been more pleasant or attentive. We could not have chosen a more perfect venue to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Too noisy, difficult to have a conversation.
The service was very good with a cheerful and attentive staff. No complaints. It would be unfair to rate the seating arrangements they chose for us because we warned them that our party included two toddlers so I suspect they placed us as they did because toddlers tend to be somewhat disruptive and I am sure they preferred to separate us from the main, cozier main seating area. It certainly was not ideal. The ambiance would have been just fine for the adult clientele that it intends to serve. The quality of the food was acceptable, but I wouldn't say that it stood out, or that it would warrant a 'must have ' rating. I tend to compare the quality to my version of what I ordered, and frankly mine is better. The value was reasonable, especially for the Cherry Creek area. All in all, would I go there again? Sure. Would I think of it as my first choice if I was trying to impress someone? Probably not.
The scallops were terrific with their layers of flavor. The bison short ribs, perfect. An all around lovely evening with thoughtful menu.
Great food and ambience. Excellent wine list
