La Mer is an outstanding restaurant. The service and food are incredible. We have dietary restrictions on meat products. The waiters and kitchen staff created a delicious meal for us. We return to La Mer every trip to Honolulu. They even remembered our favorite table. Very well done.

We had an excellent dinner at La Mer. We are vegetarians and they had plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The champagne selection was exquisite. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our anniversary dinner was memorable. A must visit if you're in O‘ahu!

Menu was beautiful, Food was incredible, waiting team were superb and considerate. The Lobster and Soufflé were divine and it was an amazing experience… right up to the point when some snooty female manager ran after us when we’d left after paying accusing us of not leaving a tip. We had. We’d left a 20% tip - she just hadn’t bothered reading the receipt properly. A cursory apology («oh so you did ») rather soured the otherwise excellent experience from the rest of the team, who had been super-amazing all night. Sorry your manager let you down.

Wow. Not enough good things can be said about this restaurant. On the beautiful island paradise of Oahu, this restaurant stands out. My wife and I visited for our 20th anniversary and far and away, it was one of the best dining experience we've ever had. That is saying a lot because we've been to some of the best restaurants in London, Paris, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The food was brilliant. Delicious, perfectly cooked, surprising and comforting at the same time. Yet always was within the theme of island paradise. The menus' only equal was the service. Our server not only allowed us to have our own great experience but anticipated our needs. We never had to look around for him. He was always just a few paces away arranging our next course or passing on some detail to the support servers. Final thoughts. Perhaps the best dining experience we've had in a while. Top of the line dining. As an aside, more affordable than a lot of the high end restaurants.

The food was excellent. The ambience I rated 4 however if I could give half polnts it would be 4.5. For the first 2 hours for our almost 3 hour dining experience our view was the backs of the couple who were seated in front of us. The young man was wearing a plain white T-shirt btw, as he had removed his over shirt to violate the dress code (??). However, after they departed we were kindly moved up to to their ocean front table which fabulous. Having eaten in many Michelin star restaurants in the past I rate the value as 4. It was an excellent meal no doubt and I enjoyed the wine pairings, but had to lower the rating to 4 only due to the quite steep expense. The Providence in LA provided what we felt was a slightly better meal at a very similar price point. Plus, to be fair, the ambience score would definitely been a 5 if we would have had the fabulous ocean front table for the entire meal. That is an view that cannot be matched.

The service was excellent. We love this restaurant. Unfortunately we ordered the foie gras that I saw on their wed site. The type we had in France, sauced in butter. Instead we received pate. Beside that the meal was lovely.

Gorgeous venue with tables overlooking Diamond Head or ocean which is lit up after sunset. Entire team of servers were outstanding, each one greeting us with Happy Anniversary. We had the 7 course tasting menu which was delicious- the amuse bouche was a yummy first start and our 2 favorite courses were the tender tasty scallop topped with thinly sliced cuttlefish and caviar with a beautiful lobster consommé poured over it and the filet with seared foie gras and truffle sauce. Loved the flavors on the vegetables on the lobster course but found the lobster a little tough - the beurre blanc sauce was delicious. The cheese course offered a lovely selection. My husband enjoyed the international wine pairing and I opted for wines by the glass, which was perfect.

My husband and I chose this restaurant for our 10th Anniversary and we are very pleased with our experience! The food, service, view, and atmosphere were all outstanding and they even gave us complimentary treats at the end of our meal. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner so special!

This is a restaurant you prepare for. This is an experience you save for, dress for, plan your week/month/vacation around. This was our 21st anniversary dinner, and we wanted/needed this to be spectacular. It delivered. Thanks to: Mark - our waiter for the evening who made it an experience. Kevin - the sommelier and perhaps the best communicator of how wine pairs with the meal we’ve had. Tyler - a young man with a bright future in the restaurant business, who assisted Mark Kolani - who presented every dish

Blown away, just a beautiful experience. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. I booked for my husband’s birthday but just wanted to eat amazing food. They asked us if they could move us to a window table and it was wonderful. VERY IMPRESSED!!! Wonderful food just like we wanted. If Michelin was here they would have 3 stars!!! Staff was TOP NOTCH!!! THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!

The food was a huge disappointment. We did the tasting menu. Two dishes were just too fishy to eat. The chef seems to think that pouring a rich sauce on otherwise crappy food makes it OK. It doesn’t. I asked that the filet be cooked medium, even though the chef recommended medium rare. Naturally, it came out rare to medium rare. I didn’t eat it. In fact, I didn’t eat all of a single course. I suppose you pay for the view which was nice.

wonderful experience - but for a $700 dinner, to be charged an extra $15 for a food substitution was really stupid....the waiter blamed it on the "French chef" who insists on charging extra for any food change.
