Pasta & Peas
My daughter and I were in town visiting friends. We have eaten at La Mela nearly every time we visit, so it was nice sharing our favorite restaurant with friends. The service is always top notch. La Mela is one of a kind.
Our server David was terrific. Made us feel like family. Best meal we’ve had in New York during our one-week visit.
The best Italian food I have ever had! Old school Italian atmosphere.
Restaurant was busy due to the San Genarro Festival but the service was beyond slow and unfortunately even rude, if you had any questions. The food was barely warm and was very high priced for the quality.
Everything was wonderful--we ate inside so we could hear each other since the Festival was going on. All of our dishes were delicious and the timing was perfect. Our waiter, David, was attentive, funny, and made our evening--kudos to him!
Double check the prices with the server first. I read online that the pitcher of Sangria was $13, but I was charged $35. And it was awful sour. Food portions were so small I had order extra bread.
Wonderful lunch at La Mela. My salad, gnocchi and tartufo were all delicious. The service was excellent and the prices most reasonable. Great dining option in the heart of Little Italy.
El gerente muy grosero, no regresaré
We had a wonderful meal with our friends. This was our first time back after 20 years and it was just as good as the last time. Can't wait to go back again soon.
LaMela is an amazing Little Italy spot, with the best old school, home style Italian food. Dave runs the place and he makes you feel welcome, like a guest in his home, not a customer at a restaurant. He’ll make you laugh a few times too. Weather a date night or just a stop with friends for some great food, La Mela is the place to go. We’re from San Diego and make it a point to eat at LaMela every time we’re in NYC and it never lets us down.
The food was excellent as expected. All the servers were very helpful and friendly also. Check out the light switch in the dining room have to be Missed LOL LOL
Caprese Salad was superb!!
Everything was fab. Excellent service!
Whenever we have company from out of town this is our go to place. Everybody always enjoys the family style dinner with a nice big bottle of red!
Awesome experience in little Italy!!!
Delicious food! Always love returning!
This place is a hidden gem! Doesn’t have the ambiance of some other updates restaurants in the area but what it lacks in that it makes up in food. Not exaggerating when I say the best chicken parmigiana of my life. My boyfriend got the veal saltimbocca and that was amazing as well. Staff was very friendly, had a ma and pop feel. They even gave us limoncello on the house at the end of the meal! Would highly recommend if you’re looking for an authentic little Italy spot!
As always, excellent service, food and value. Las Mela is hands down the most authentic restaurant in Little Italy.
Always the best NYC Little Italy experience. I have been coming here with clients for years.
Food is always great! Service too! Their calamari is always perfect, light and great texture, not chewy or tough. Great inguini white clams, strip steak cooked perfectly medium and tender. Delicious coffee, sugar not needed. Recommend!
The family style food was not good. The best part was the pasta course which was just ok. The meat course was not good at all. Service was slow.
Great on a weekend during warm months when mulberry st is closed to vehicular traffic. Food is wonderful and great value. Service is good and the staff is very nice. Highly recommend
A fantastic, "old world" Italian restaurant experience in the middle of Little Italy! GREAT food and service. Highly recommended.
Good service, good variety of options and solid food. Their calamari is always good and consistent. Tried other spots and either not good and not consistent. Fun place with fun crowd!
My friend declared her eggplant parmesan the best she'd ever had, and the zabaglione was a revelation. My red snapper marechiaro was brilliant and generous. Service was great. Little Italy is nicely recovered from my last visit many years ago. We'll return!
Veal Parm and Pasta Fagioli Soup is the best in Little Italy!!!
Great food. Love their fried calamari (perfectly done) & linguine white clams! Always consistent! Thanks guys!!!
Newly established progressive Mexican fare. With excellently prepared food. We had appetizer, main course and dessert without any sense this was a fledgling establishment. Food was well prepared and presented. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend, just be aware they are not taking reservations and it will be a wait for the table. The wait is worth it.
Always enjoy La Mela!
Great location on Mulberry Street, small, not fancy, no fuss, great food and service. Their menu has been reduced considerably (probably because of the pandemic), but the food was incredible as always. Full bar and great desserts, too.
Great staff, very good food! Great local business, our go to for local Italian.
Benny and his staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Food was delicious as well. Highly recommend and I will be back.
The staff was super nice, very accommodative. The food was real good.
I like the food and the restaurant. I will recommended it to my friends this restaurant.
Food and service was amazing.
Every time we visit NYC, we go to La Mela for dinner. The vodka sauce is amazing!
We made rezzies on your site and when we got there , they were CLOSED
La Mela is my favorite restaurant in Little Italy..maybe NYC, I go there as often as I can,
with friends in from out of town, first stop, but most importantly with my best friends and family on my Birthday EVERY YEAR!....A place I cherish.
