Service is very attentive. Food was served very hot from the kitchen. Everything was very fresh, well prepared, delicious and nice size portions. You will not go away hungry !!!
Four of us for dinner. 3 of 4 meals were excellent. 4th was just good, special with scallops that would have been better with a few large scallops rather then small pieces that got lost in the risotto. Will dine here again
Everything was excellent with the exception of tge waiter, ge wasnt friendly in the slightest
My experience at was mixed at this restaurant. Let's start with the positives. The food was outstanding and the chef clearly had skills. The menu offers a very nice selection and the bar service was good as evidenced by some very well made cocktails. We were a table of six adults and the food choices included pasta Bolognese, pasta with sausage & broccoli rabe, a chicken & sausage dish, risotto, and the grilled branzino. All were delicious. Now on to the negatives and there were many. If someone has a fork in their hand and is still eating you do not attempt to take their plate - they teach that day 1 in restaurant school. I get it, we are in Manhattan and tables are close together, but then train you staff to not kick every chair of every table every time they walk by. It was like paying $500 to be served dinner on the subway - that is how bad the servers constantly kicked the chairs. Next we asked our waiter to bring out a desert for a birthday celebration at the table - he said no problem. We expected a candle in a one scoop of ice cream. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. They basically refused to do it unless we ordered a desert off the menu. After 15 awkward minutes the waiter put the desert menu in front of me and said "are you sure you don't want desert?" Oh but there is much more !!!!! We had several dishes wrapped up where more than half the meal remained. Once we arrived home we saw that they put only a spoonful or two of each dish in the containers - they clearly threw away most of our leftovers. And now the straw that broke the camel's back. We paid the bill and yes I left a only a modest tip after all this. I went to the rest room while the rest of my group went to to get their coats. The coat check woman accosts me as I leave the bathroom and basically say i need to to tip her separately. I would have done it anyway but how do come out and and ask for it. She got a buck for all six coats. We will not return.
As usual, we enjoyed our dinner and our granddaughter really felt special as this was her birthday celebration. Service was great.
Everything was fantastic.
Theatre District Good Italian
La Masseria is conveniently located n the theatre district, and timely accommodates show-goers. The service is very pleasant and attentive. The dining room is pretty, BUT the tables are much, MUCH too close together with little space for waitstaff and patrons to maneuver, leading to a not quite comfortable dining experience. The food runs the gamut from delicious (the pasta with clam sauce was truly outstanding, al dente pasta cooked to perfection with tender clams prepared with a scrumptious white clam sauce) to very good (the gnocchi or grilled chicken with leeks) to mediocre at best ( the rabbit was not de-boned properly and was not tender and the veal Milanese was flavorless). The desserts and Cappuccinos were very good (ricotta cheese cake and chocolate cake were creamy, not too sweet and yummy). We like La Masseria, but they must remove a table or two as it borders on the uncomfortable.... and the pastas are too good, the room is too pretty, and the service is too attentive to spoil it all by being packed in like a rush hour subway car.
Have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed . The food is always fresh and so tasty. They have several specials and one is better than the other. Staff is always welcoming and accommodating they will alter the dish to suit your palet. Always a great experience
This place is a must for authentic Italian lovers. Was skeptical about a restaurant in the theater district, but luckily was not crowded with tourists. Make a reservation.
Service was a little slower than normal but it was a busy night. Awesome every time we go
Excellent food and service. Very nice wine list.
Would recommend and go back.
My brother recommended La Masseria for our pre- theatre lunch. I am so happy that I took his recommendation. From the service ( impeccable) to the food ( delicious) as well as the price ( perfect) I was not disappointed. Completely satisfied and will be returning!
This was our second time at La Masseria. The service and atmosphere are terrific. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli, which were great. I, however, ordered the crab risotto special which was bland, overpriced and disappointing. We would definitely go back, but I would stick to the regular menu next time.
Very pleasant lunch, although I wasn’t aware that the lunch special was $38.50,which seemed like a lot without being told ahead of time.
Excellent food and service as always
Excellent food and very attentive service; tables very close together and noisy, but over all, a pleasant evening!! (Valentines flower accompanied the meal!)
We loved it there, amazing food - amazing staff ... highly recommended ...
Pre-theater reservation; seated immediately. Rabbit, eggplant pasta very good. Thought eggplant dish a little heavy and spicy, but date enjoyed it. Rabbit tender and seasoned perfectly. Spinach salad excellent. Not normally a big fan of tiramisu (ordered by date), but thought it was good enough to change my opinion.
Casually elegant, welcoming atmosphere. Excellent, attentive and friendly service. Not rushed. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Great food and great service. Definitely recommend this place.
It was wonderful!
Good food and great service. Lots of good energy and it gets a little loud.
Best Italian in NYC!
My boyfriend, an out-of-towner from Canada, absolutely loved it! He said we should make it our spot for Valentine's Day every year. We were seated on the small but cozy second floor. It was very romantic! The location of the restaurant was fantastic; not on a super busy street, but close enough to Times Square for me to show him all the lights at night. The waiters were very knowledgeable on the menu. One was even kind enough to take a photo of us upon request. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted for a date night; dim lighting, music and murmurs, and of course, great food!
Celebrating my daughter's birthday. Had a nice table. Requested lower level because of my difficulty with stairs and the request was honored. Best (and coldest) Cosmos in NYC. Gluten free pasta dish was delicious.
Stefano, Manuel, and Vitorio are excellent. All at the table agree they'll be back. Great lamb shank and risotto. Worth going for that alone
Pre-theater gem. Soup, salad, pasta, cookies with coffee. It’s pure, earthy delight. Everything was fresh and bright, exploding with flavor. Everything felt familiar, but you can’t help upon taking your first bite saying - or at least thinking - “Now THAT’s a [fill in the blank]”
Food was very good. Only issue I had was that our waiter brought out the wrong dessert and instead of l.eaving it there an swaying enjoy , he took it bad. I think he should have apologized for his mistake and said it's here already, on the house.
Awesome experience from start to finish.
Reastaurant week menu was excellent. Waiter very attentive. We sat near the bar and it was noisy.
