Over priced and noisy. Threw food at us to get table turnover. Not a good experience, totally unlike Italian restaurant approach to enjoying dinner.
Food was fabulous. Maitre D and bartender were stuffy. They served us quickly seeming to want to get rid of us. Wait staff talking amongst them selves and oblivious to customer needs. Pricey for the lack of class.
Food great and service was great. BEWARE of specials.
I was going to order black truffle pasta. Waiter brought over white truffle to show me and asked if I wanted that one. Not knowing I said which one is better and he said white. He didn’t specify price. It was a $100 gnocchi pasta dish. (The black would have been $29)
Guess I should’ve asked because I like black truffle just as much. Lesson learned. Ask for the price of specials.
My pasta came out to $4 per single gnocchi!
Expensive but delicious, friendly service. Strongly recommend.
We love this restaurant and always return when we visit New York. The noise level is high as it is a very popular restaurant. The service and food are always excellent.
Love it here. They held our res, even though our show ran long. Wonderful late night dining - fantastic food.
It was very good!
Great food and customer service in a warm and inviting space
Ok but pricey for lunch.
Excellent pre-theater restaurant. The staff are true pros!
One of the best Italian food experience in NY. 3 times I have visited NY and always come back to La Masseria, best in town!
Great food. A happy find in the theater district. Will definitely return.
As always the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted! The service is second to none. A must any time I visit NYC.
The food and ambiance is amazing. I was up-sold on my gnocchi dish. I ordered the one from the menu originally at $30 and then was encouraged to try the special version of white truffle (in season) instead if the summer truffle (black truffle) on the menu. I did sure but the waiter didn’t disclose that this would turn my pasta into a $80 meal!
We had great fried zucchini, enough to feed 2 or more. Food is basically good, but I think it is too pricey for lunch. We split the raviolis and we each got 4, with no meat, and the price is $22.50. Salads are pricely also. If two people went for lunch and each had a salad and an entrée and a glass of wine, the price would be over $100.
Was very nice for a celebration lunch
Fabulous Italian food. We enjoyed a wonderful homemade minestrone soup and two pastas. The pasta is handmade and melts in your mouth. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. We found a wonderful Montepulcino Sangiovese/Merlot blend.
Caution: the restaurant is LOUD. We had planned a romantic dinner for two but were seated next to two large tables and could barely hear each other across the table.
The food is worth the trip! We will be back again soon.
Great evening. The place was packed. Service was good. Super food. Loved the orechetet.
Service was beyond call of duty.
George Manzio was very help full and very professional. The service we had from Giuseppe was outstanding.
We cant wait to return soon!!
friendly waiters. food was in small quantity and over priced. Only two bathrooms and they were unisex ones. Very loud.
The food at La Masseria is good but not as good as remembered. Waiter was efficient but not interested in serving & listed the specials so quickly & did not understand our questions.
The restaurant was 60% empty but they seated another couple right next to us who spoke so loudly in a quiet restaurant that we had to ask them to please try & speak a little quieter.
Not enough clam flavor in pasta vongole, & less than 12 clams.
If you want an authentic Italian experience with great service and wonderful ambiance, this is it. Thanks for a great meal.
I am always very pleased with this restaurant! The food and wine list are very high quality.
Waiter was not attentive and forgot to bring out my first course.
Delicious food, wonderful service. Always my favorite.
First it is a beautiful restaurant. The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. It’s a bit pricey but worth every penny.
La Masseria was a very warm and cozy restaurant with a good mix of homemade pastas, seafood, veal, chicken and steak. They have a full bar and extensive wine list.
The food was delicious and the service great. We got to the restaurant early and were seated right way. Due to our early arrival, we were going to be too early for the theater matinee. Our courses were timed accordingly and we were not rushed to get out.
2nd time I’ve eaten at this restaurant. Good service, good food. A little loud but there was a large group near us so it really couldn’t be helped.
We have eaten here a number of times. We had lunch before a matinee and everything was delicious. Our was it we, who was from Florence, went out of his way to make us feel at home. We split a pasta and veal dish. They split the plates for us and both were excellent. We will be back
La Masseria was the best restaurant I have been to! The service was amazing and they made sure you had everything you desired. All of the food was outstanding! I would definitely come back!
Excellent in every way!
After theater - good prompt service but not rushed - Food agnolotti ravioli with mushrooms and truffle oil fabulous
It's our favorite after theater dinner place for many years- always start with burata
Went for a special birthday dinner on recommendation from friends who live in New York. ...coming from Boston we are used to great Italian food....The restaurant was crowded except for tables in back room..where we were seated tables were so close and cramped...table wobbled....ask to be moved...lots of four people tables but wouldn’t move us because we were two....we sat outside and the weather was cold....My friend wanted pasta with shrimp ..the waiter recommended a dish....sounded great....what arrived was thin spaghetti with a few calamari...a few clams...one prawn...you couldn’t roll spaghetti on fork because stuck together in one clump....she just ate a forkful ....too embarrassed to speak up....price was 46.50 for a dish of clumped spaghetti...price was not mention when he suggested dish...run don’t walk away from this restaurant....again we went to New York to celebrate special birthdays...not the experience we were looking for
Excellent unobtrusive efficient service. Wonderful food.
Once again we were a party of two couples visiting following a show. We were seated promptly, the service was attentive without being intrusive, the food was wonderful.
A great place for dinner.
Excellent service, we felt very well looked after.
I had requested a quiet table, which they provided at the rear of the restaurant. The front part is quite noisy, but they table enable us to have a nice conversation with our friends without shouting.
