Wonderful homemade pasta with excellent service makes La Masseria my pre-theater choice for many years. The food and the atmosphere never disappoint!
Birthday dinner. The mixed seafood and the pastas were great!
Food is always outstanding and authentic. 1:30 reservation after Radio City and felt rushed
Delicious food in a lovely brick town-house like setting. Many specials and a full, full restaurant, this place needs advance booking if you want a dinner here on Saturday night. The portions are large and the flavors very good.
The food, atmosphere and service at La Masseria is excellent. In the heart of the theater district makes it a great place to have lunch before a matinee or dinner before an evening performance.
A great place for after-theater. The food is very good, the prices are not very high, the service is cheerful and speedy and the kitchen stays open late.
Excellent food and Service as usual! One of my favorite restaurants!
A little crowded layout. Food was delicious but portions were small for the price.
They did a great job and service! Wonderful food!
we have eaten at the Florida restaurant, and this experience was meh in comparison
Food & Service was amazing! We be back on our next trip to NYC.
Excellent service, ambiance and food! Catered to without being overwhelmed!
Over priced and noisy. Threw food at us to get table turnover. Not a good experience, totally unlike Italian restaurant approach to enjoying dinner.
Fourth or fifth visit and it still presents great food, great wine and top-notch service. Location is a plus as well for after- or before theatre dining. There will be a sixth or seventh...
Food was fabulous. Maitre D and bartender were stuffy. They served us quickly seeming to want to get rid of us. Wait staff talking amongst them selves and oblivious to customer needs. Pricey for the lack of class.
La Masseria is a must whenever we travel to NYC for theatre -- we've been there numerous times and will continue as the quality of the delicious farmhouse Italian food is always superb. The Italian wine selection is wonderful too with many regional varieties. I am convinced that I was Italian in another life, so La Masseria is my favorite restaurant in the theatre district for authentic southern Italian cuisine.
Food great and service was great. BEWARE of specials.
I was going to order black truffle pasta. Waiter brought over white truffle to show me and asked if I wanted that one. Not knowing I said which one is better and he said white. He didn’t specify price. It was a $100 gnocchi pasta dish. (The black would have been $29)
Guess I should’ve asked because I like black truffle just as much. Lesson learned. Ask for the price of specials.
My pasta came out to $4 per single gnocchi!
Arrived early for our reservation and was accommodated immediately. La Masseria was charming. The service was outstanding and it may have been the best pasta we have ever had. Get the Rigatoni with Grandmothers Sunday Sauce. Outstanding!
Expensive but delicious, friendly service. Strongly recommend.
We love this restaurant and always return when we visit New York. The noise level is high as it is a very popular restaurant. The service and food are always excellent.
Love it here. They held our res, even though our show ran long. Wonderful late night dining - fantastic food.
It was very good!
Great food and customer service in a warm and inviting space
Ok but pricey for lunch.
Excellent pre-theater restaurant. The staff are true pros!
One of the best Italian food experience in NY. 3 times I have visited NY and always come back to La Masseria, best in town!
Great food. A happy find in the theater district. Will definitely return.
As always the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted! The service is second to none. A must any time I visit NYC.
The food and ambiance is amazing. I was up-sold on my gnocchi dish. I ordered the one from the menu originally at $30 and then was encouraged to try the special version of white truffle (in season) instead if the summer truffle (black truffle) on the menu. I did sure but the waiter didn’t disclose that this would turn my pasta into a $80 meal!
We had great fried zucchini, enough to feed 2 or more. Food is basically good, but I think it is too pricey for lunch. We split the raviolis and we each got 4, with no meat, and the price is $22.50. Salads are pricely also. If two people went for lunch and each had a salad and an entrée and a glass of wine, the price would be over $100.
Was very nice for a celebration lunch
Fabulous Italian food. We enjoyed a wonderful homemade minestrone soup and two pastas. The pasta is handmade and melts in your mouth. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. We found a wonderful Montepulcino Sangiovese/Merlot blend.
Caution: the restaurant is LOUD. We had planned a romantic dinner for two but were seated next to two large tables and could barely hear each other across the table.
The food is worth the trip! We will be back again soon.
Great evening. The place was packed. Service was good. Super food. Loved the orechetet.
Service was beyond call of duty.
George Manzio was very help full and very professional. The service we had from Giuseppe was outstanding.
We cant wait to return soon!!
friendly waiters. food was in small quantity and over priced. Only two bathrooms and they were unisex ones. Very loud.
The food at La Masseria is good but not as good as remembered. Waiter was efficient but not interested in serving & listed the specials so quickly & did not understand our questions.
The restaurant was 60% empty but they seated another couple right next to us who spoke so loudly in a quiet restaurant that we had to ask them to please try & speak a little quieter.
Not enough clam flavor in pasta vongole, & less than 12 clams.
If you want an authentic Italian experience with great service and wonderful ambiance, this is it. Thanks for a great meal.
I am always very pleased with this restaurant! The food and wine list are very high quality.
Waiter was not attentive and forgot to bring out my first course.
