An excellent pre-theatre location, La Masseria is an authentic Italian restaurant with good food (they really know what “al dente” means, and the stuffed mozzarella is excellent), good variety in the menu, a nice atmosphere that is comfortable for anything from business casual to semi formal, and attentive service.
Huge serving delicious rib eye.
Dommage
The only place to go after the theater! Food off the charts
always great food, we were among the first there today so we had our choice of tables and service and kitchen were till fresh. glad we went. We dine here 2 or 3 times a year as the food is superior
We love this place! Before show for lunch this time everything great! Have also been for dinner before a night show even sitting at the bar works. Highly recommend
Food is consistently outstanding as is the service. Never disappoints! A true Italian restaurant!
Excellent service, excellent food, would definitely recommend to close friends.
I would recommend but with the caveat that it's pricey and portions are small. Personally, I did not feel that it was anything special. I had the spaghetti with clam sauce and felt it was very average. The service was attentive and the ambiance was nice, but I felt it was pricey and not special enough for me to return.
Great Food and Ambiance for after theatre dining.
This is a very vibrant restaurant… bustling, convivial, and very accommodating. The entire staff goes out of their way to make one feel welcome. I think that’s a real gift. The wines at the bar and the bartender were all terrific. We enjoyed our meals very much. Several people had the daily specials and were extremely happy with them. They are very sensitive to the timing for getting to the theater so don’t be nervous. It’s not inexpensive, but it’s worth it for the quality of the food and the proximity to the theaters, especially the ones on W. 48th St.
Have already recommended & will go there again. Bright & clean...attentive staff...sea bass excellent. Pricey but worth it.
Very small table upstairs for a large man and wife
My wife and I ordered a pasta dish to split as an appetizer. It was so salty, it was difficult to enjoy the otherwise good flavor. When we told our waiter he said sorry and that was it! Our veal dish was good but no more outstanding than other restaurants I have been in. For lunch our bill was $250.00 including the tip! We had 2 glasses of house wine which they charged $17 each. I will not go back.
Perfect place to celebrate my son’s 19th birthday after a show.
The service was terrible. The waiter acted like it was painful to wait on us. He gave us list of specials then stopped by 2 more times to see if we were ready to order. He never asked what we wanted to drink and finally had to ask him for a glass of wine. I will not go back.
Simply delicious. Branzino is amazing. The vegetables are, too. Never disappointed.
This is a hidden gem in the Times Square area. The food is amazing - house made pasta and mozzarella. Great ambiance and amazing service.
Food was pretty decent but overpriced. Service was very good. They know how to get the pre-theater crowd out the door fast.
Family get together
Good to eat at
Impeccable service and delicious food served beautifully. Highly recommend.
Wonderful dinner-we always love your restaurant!!
The dining experience at La Masseria was very disappointing. We waited about an hour for our dinner and when it finally came out, the wrong dish was served to my husband. Firstly, he asked for a dinner portion of an appetizer, but I believe the language barrier was an issue. Then he was served a completely wrong dish. It took me to get the attention of a Maitre "D to get the dish served. After dinner was finished, the server brought over the dessert menus. No compensation was offered until I asked for one. Dessert was served and was not charged. They also took the price of the appetizer off as well. I was extremely disappointed about this experience. It was an expensive dinner, small portions and no apologies.
Excellent theater district choice and beyond. While I've been twice to La Masseria and both times because of a Broadway show, it's an excellent choice for Italian food. Service is great--attentive and quick without feeling rushed.
Superiore !!! Al Di La Di. Superior. Beyond the Beyond.
Our favorite place in Manhattan! Joel is a fantastic waiter. He is enthusiastic, attentive and patient. (and quite busy). Food is fantastic. Love the ambience. Superb experience!
From appetizers to desserts, the food at LaMasseria was outstanding. We were 5 people in my party and each person thoroughly enjoy what they ordered. Our waiter was very friendly, patient and very helpful. We were seeing a show after our meal and the waiter made sure we received our bill while we were eating dessert to ensure that we would be out on time. LaMasseria was excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal!!
We had lunch midday so some results as far as noise and service may vary. Staff was professional and food was fantastic! I had the penne masseria and was one of the best Italian dishes I've ever eaten so I highly recommend the restaurant.
Eating at La Masseria is like eating in Italy.
And service is amazing
Good food but prices are way too high and portions are a bit small...plate of pasta above 30 USD
Was referred by a friend, food was very good, service was great, would love to go back to try many other dishes. Loved the crisp bread sticks, even though I shouldn't have been eating them. Tried to pick foods that were on the healthier side do to a contest I am competing in. Enjoyed the grilled veggies appetizer and the main course of grilled shrimp over salad.
The ambiance is lovely and warm. The service was excellent and we all enjoyed our entrees and desserts. The tiramisu is the best I have ever tasted! There is a nice wine list, including nice by-the-glass selections. House-made limoncello was the perfect finish to a delicious meal. Our waiter also was able to recommend a great grappa.
Cozy romantic true Italian atmosphere. Food was excellent and service was very attentive. You are sure to have a great Italian evening at this jewl if a restuarant near the theater district
one of the best theater restaurants I have been to and I would go back even if not going to the theater
Lovely decor, very nice menu, staff was great - all together a very nice experience
El servicio lento comida con falta de sazón lugar familiar de domingo después de teatro nada fuera de lo comun
Overly salty food, very expensive.
Perfect for pre theater lunch or dinner. Service was friendly and prompt. A touch too noisy but can't be helped with a bustling crowd.
We eat here once each time we are in NY. One of my favorite restaurants. This place is always busy, but the service and food are always top notch.
We had ticket to play last night that started at 730. Our reservations were for 530. We were immediately seated and our waiter was fantastic. Very attentive, never an empty water glass and ready to refill your wine glass! Our food came out quickly and was fresh and delicious. I loved this place and I would definitely come back!
