Wonderful all around! We enjoyed a birthday dinner and it was amazing!
The atmosphere and food were very good. However our party of 5 were seated at a round table in the center of one of the many dining room areas where the tables around us were close and tight and often being turned over and reconfigured by staff to accommodate the next reservation leading to waiters hurriedly and loudly carrying chairs over their heads and bumping into seated members of our party while they were dining. Surely there must be a better way to reconfigure tables without being so disruptive while other individuals are dining.
My wife and I have found La Masseria about four year's ago as we do frequent weekenders in Manhattan and stay at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. This restaurant has to be one of the top five best Italian restaurants in Manhattan. Always consistent and never disappoints in service and food. We really appreciate the fact that they opened another location in Palm Beach, FL where we own a Time Share, so obviously this is where we dine when we're in West Palm Beach, Fl. And again, they're always consistent and never disappoints in service and food at this location. A must try for anyone looking for great and fabulous authentic Italian cuisine.
I would highly recommend this restaurant--The food was one of the best I have ever eaten and the service was top notch as well--the presentation and quality of the food was unbeaten.
Food was good but felt very rushed by the waiter cause it was a late reservation.
We love coming here! Whenever we are in NYC we make sure that we make a reservation. We have never been disappointed. Just wish there were more tables available for dinner!
So loud!!! But so good!!! Going back!
Great experience overall
Table available the minute we walked in. Very welcoming staff as well.
I went to La Masseria for Valentines Day, and I found it to be over priced and underwhelming. The Fritto Misto del Marr appetizer was over priced at $25 and over cooked and rubbery. Our main courses both contained lobster which was also over cooked. My dish in particular was $40 for 6 small heart shaped ravioli. The drinks were pretty good, and the service was as well; however, for the price I expected the food to taste much better than it did.
Valentine’s Day celebration before going to Broadway to see Network. I appreciated the offer to check our coats. Very helpful. Although the restaurant was busy there were no delays at all. The water glasses were never empty, the cocktails were perfect and the service was wonderful. The chocolate covered strawberries were beautifully presented. I have already recommended La Masseria to my friends and people you just strike up conversation with.
The food was blend of the best of Italian favorites, each done expertly. Our fish was cooked to perfection, with a separate seasoned olive-oil based drizzle which added unique flavor. We dined in the main area which is comfortable, roomy, not too brightly lit. The chatter was a little noisy but subsided after 7:30pm when the theater-goers had left. The waitstaff was very professional, and helpful with our questions.
Superb food and wonderful staff. Authentic Italian
The restaurant was packed and had a great vibe. Staff greeted us and told us our table wasn’t ready yet; we ordered drinks at the bar and the table was ready in no time.
The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Service was great and the food was delicious. We were here to get together with friends while we were all together in NYC but this is a great place for a pre-show meal, special occasion or just anytime you want a really top notch Italian meal.
Food, service , excellent !!!!
when we first got there the music was appropriate ..elegant jazzy cool
shortly after it turned into dance music at a nightclub ridiculous for that type of restaurant
completely changed the mood..
What are they thinking???
This was our first time here. We went for lunch before our Broadway play. We had octopus, ravioli for main courses. Absolutely delicious. For dessert, 3 sorbets. Just wonderful. We can't wait to go back again. Highly recommend.
The restuarant and food were fine, but rather ordinary
I was surprised the pasta dish, which included broccoli rabe, was puréed. It was not as flavorful as I had expected. I would stick to keeping the broccoli rabe as is. Ambiance, wine and service were top notch!
Very comfortable and welcoming ambiance, yet upscale. Service was A+!
Really enjoyed the sea bass.
Food was excellent, as was the service. Would definitely go back next time we are in NYC.
Dinner out with son and his girlfriend
Food was excellent, everything we ordered was delicious. Pasta was fresh and good, the steak was good. We paid 250$ for diner for two which was way too overpriced.
Visited this lovely restaurant before catching a Saturday matinee (2pm) with my sister. The food was delicious. Try the stuffed mozzarella! You'll be glad you did. The lentil in olive oil, rosemary & garlic accompanied the bread and bread stick basket. Pasta (linguini with clams in white wine sauce and the cheese ravioli in a light tomato sauce) was very tasty! A happy birthday ice cream was served as a nice surprise. Thank to the waiters who sang to us in tune, too! Enjoy it! We did.
Great food and service
Nice lunch, but had to request restaurant week menu and I felt the servers attitude changed when I did. Sea bass was dry but potato leek soup was wonderful. My daughter loved her ravioli dish. Lemon sorbet was too syrupy and sweet.
La Massaria never fails. Excellent food and service. Tables for two are small and close. Many large tables for groups. Lunch was less noisy than our previous dinners. Get a balcony table for great viewing of most of the restaurant.
Fantastic food and service!
Our server Joel F. was amazing. Very attentive and respectful.
Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
Pastas, salads and fish are all excellent.
Everything was great. The local, the food and the staff make every visit excellent.
A little pricey but so worth it. A theatre district fav for us. Consistent, delicious, authentic Italian. Highly recommend.
Found the management not very friendly and actually tried to rush us out by trying to get the check paid quickly when we were not ready to leave. Food was okay. We wouldn’t go back.
Our group of 6 had dinner at La Masseria during Restaurant Week. The special Restaurant Week menu featured a small selection of fairly tasty dishes; the portions were somewhat smaller than usual, consistent with the low price offered during Restaurant Week. The quality of each dish on the Restaurant Week menu was equal to what some in our party ordered off the regular full-price menu. The restaurant is very close to Broadway theaters.
Great service and AMAZING food. I will definitely be coming back next time I catch a show.
It was amazing everything about was good from staff to food the restaurant was a good experience.
A lovely pre-theater lunch. We took advantage of the Restaurant Week offerings, which were delicious. The ambiance was wonderful ... you'd never know you were in the middle of the busy theater district. The service was attentive, not at all rushed, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and get to the theater in plenty of time. I highly recommend a visit to this charming restaurant.
Promptly seated at our reservation time. Excellent selection of wines. The food was really good across the board, but the gnocchi were special.
