About La Masseria RI
La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversized iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

La Masseria RI Ratings and Reviews
We love LaMasseria. We visit Italy somewhat often, especially Florence, and love the food. Eating here reminds us of being back in Florence. The food is wonderful, and it’s a great ambience. In my top five of places in all of Rhode Island. Oh. And if they have it, order the egg ravioli. Although you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu really
I met with here with family for a pre-Christmas luncheon. I ordered the Venison, which was tender, perfectly cooked and sauced. The pork chop with mushrooms had a generous portion of fungi. The sides of brussels sprouts were just the right level of tender-crisp. The wines were excellent - we had a Malbec and a California Pinot Noir that was very smooth and delicious. The waiter gave me a half glass, as I am a light drinker. I appreciated that accommodation! The two grandkids loved their food (no need for a kids menu here). We'd definitely go again.
Be prepared to find parking uphill at the town lot. It's just a four minute walk.
It’s the food that makes this place really special. Everything is prepared beautifully and expertly. The service is good, not always great. The atmosphere downstairs is a bit too noisy and rollicking for my taste. Upstairs is quieter and better suited for a special occasion.
I had not been to La Masseria in a long while and I recently hosted a friends’ get together there. I was happy to find that the food is still outstanding and service is second to none. This is a true gem in Rhode Island that rivals NYC’s best neighborhood Italian restaurants. Not inexpensive, but it delivers excellent value.
Incredible dinner once again at one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. Amazing black ink risotto with squid was a special tonight and it was excellent. I had business associates in from out of town and they all thought the place was amazing and it was (as always). Bravo!
We love LaMasseria in East Greenwich because you can always count on a meal that will be cooked perfectly. The waitstaff are excellent and attentive without being annoying. The LaMasseria in NYC and can only hope it is as good as the one in East Greenwich, RI.
We were a little disappointed. It was very loud with several big parties and we were a couple celebrating a birthday, so it wasn't the right fit. The food was mediocre. But our server was nice--if overall all the servers were running around like crazy. I think we were just looking for a different kind of dining experience, so it wasn't a good match for us.
La Masseria is a local neighborhood gem. The service is great and the place is always buzzing.
The design and condition of the upper level dining area needs a little TLC. The lighting is dark and the corner table's reflect a dismal and uninspiring, dated appearance. What could be viewed as romantic soon turns to lack of attention to detail-which detracts from the culinary wonderful culinary experience. Would like to see little more innovation added to the menu- as a local coming here for years now- the offerings could use a bit more zest !
Will return as a loyal customer because who else makes ravioli that melts in your mouth like a cloud, and meatballs to die for..Change it up a bit..and you will have even more people waiting to get a table on a Saturday night !!
We have eaten at La Masseria for years, so we will write off this mediocre experience as one bad day in many good ones. However, the noise level was off the charts, and the bar was not crowded! My appetizer was just passable but our pasta specials and dessert were excellent.
