About La Masseria RI
La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversized iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

La Masseria RI Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. Food was great as always and our server was wonderful and very kind. We were the only same-sex couple in the restaurant and usually we hardly notice that fact but it became apparent when the manager made his way to all of the 15 or so tables but ours. He stopped by each to ask how the evening was going, welcomed them to the restaurant and thanked them for being here, looked at our table and avoided coming over. We are both very friendly and lovable people but this avoidance hurt our feelings and while nothing could ruin our night together especially on a day when we celebrate our love, it was hurtful that we felt out of place and not welcome. Never thought that something as simple as that could leave such an impression on us:(
Always an excellent experience at La Masseria! Our family truly enjoyed all aspects from ambiance to service and especially the cuisine. All of our meals were delicious, but the overwhelming crowd favorites were the halibut special and the truffle-egg ravioli. We love it here and will be back very soon. Outstanding!
They offer a special that is Ravioli with an egg in the center that is hard to describe but incredibly delicious! Food is excellent and the service was just right. Can't go wrong if you're looking for a nice night out with friends, a date or to celebrate. Great ambiance. Nice bar area too.
I have wanted to visit the restaurant after hearing many great reviews. I was not disappointed. Having lived in Italy in the past , my standards of Italian food may be a little higher. But the food was great, the calamari was like I used to eat in Naples. Not greasy and overloaded with calories, but the real fritti! I will be back.
We have been coming to La Masseria since the beginning...here(RI) and in NYC.
Fantastic for business, casual and special occasions. We understand a new location in the Palm Beach(Fl) area has opened up, and will make it a point to stop by when in the area.
Overall....wonderful food, exceptional staff and hands on management!
We love LaMasseria. We visit Italy somewhat often, especially Florence, and love the food. Eating here reminds us of being back in Florence. The food is wonderful, and it’s a great ambience. In my top five of places in all of Rhode Island. Oh. And if they have it, order the egg ravioli. Although you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu really
I met with here with family for a pre-Christmas luncheon. I ordered the Venison, which was tender, perfectly cooked and sauced. The pork chop with mushrooms had a generous portion of fungi. The sides of brussels sprouts were just the right level of tender-crisp. The wines were excellent - we had a Malbec and a California Pinot Noir that was very smooth and delicious. The waiter gave me a half glass, as I am a light drinker. I appreciated that accommodation! The two grandkids loved their food (no need for a kids menu here). We'd definitely go again.
Be prepared to find parking uphill at the town lot. It's just a four minute walk.
It’s the food that makes this place really special. Everything is prepared beautifully and expertly. The service is good, not always great. The atmosphere downstairs is a bit too noisy and rollicking for my taste. Upstairs is quieter and better suited for a special occasion.
I had not been to La Masseria in a long while and I recently hosted a friends’ get together there. I was happy to find that the food is still outstanding and service is second to none. This is a true gem in Rhode Island that rivals NYC’s best neighborhood Italian restaurants. Not inexpensive, but it delivers excellent value.
Incredible dinner once again at one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. Amazing black ink risotto with squid was a special tonight and it was excellent. I had business associates in from out of town and they all thought the place was amazing and it was (as always). Bravo!
We love LaMasseria in East Greenwich because you can always count on a meal that will be cooked perfectly. The waitstaff are excellent and attentive without being annoying. The LaMasseria in NYC and can only hope it is as good as the one in East Greenwich, RI.
