About La Masseria RI
La Masseria Restaurant is inspired from ancient fortified farmhouses that in the Puglia Region of Italy are called “Masseria”. Executive Chef/Co-Owner, Pino Coladonato, grew up on a Farm in Puglia. He was forced to eat whatever was available but soon was tired of bean puree and decided to take matters into his own hands, creating new ways to use the same few ingredients. Now, with limitless ingredients to choose from, fava beans, chickpeas and lentils are still a core element in many of his entrees. Interior Designer Libby Langdon has created a warm, inviting dining atmosphere. Rustic and relaxed, with plenty of old world charm. Oversized iron sconces custom made from antique wrought iron gates punctuate the walls, and artful displays of antique farm tools mixed with various authentic Italian photographs all add to the farmhouse appeal. The wine list encompasses all regions of Italy with few of the best American and the rest of the world.

La Masseria RI Ratings and Reviews
It’s the food that makes this place really special. Everything is prepared beautifully and expertly. The service is good, not always great. The atmosphere downstairs is a bit too noisy and rollicking for my taste. Upstairs is quieter and better suited for a special occasion.
I had not been to La Masseria in a long while and I recently hosted a friends’ get together there. I was happy to find that the food is still outstanding and service is second to none. This is a true gem in Rhode Island that rivals NYC’s best neighborhood Italian restaurants. Not inexpensive, but it delivers excellent value.
Incredible dinner once again at one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. Amazing black ink risotto with squid was a special tonight and it was excellent. I had business associates in from out of town and they all thought the place was amazing and it was (as always). Bravo!
We love LaMasseria in East Greenwich because you can always count on a meal that will be cooked perfectly. The waitstaff are excellent and attentive without being annoying. The LaMasseria in NYC and can only hope it is as good as the one in East Greenwich, RI.
We were a little disappointed. It was very loud with several big parties and we were a couple celebrating a birthday, so it wasn't the right fit. The food was mediocre. But our server was nice--if overall all the servers were running around like crazy. I think we were just looking for a different kind of dining experience, so it wasn't a good match for us.
La Masseria is a local neighborhood gem. The service is great and the place is always buzzing.
The design and condition of the upper level dining area needs a little TLC. The lighting is dark and the corner table's reflect a dismal and uninspiring, dated appearance. What could be viewed as romantic soon turns to lack of attention to detail-which detracts from the culinary wonderful culinary experience. Would like to see little more innovation added to the menu- as a local coming here for years now- the offerings could use a bit more zest !
Will return as a loyal customer because who else makes ravioli that melts in your mouth like a cloud, and meatballs to die for..Change it up a bit..and you will have even more people waiting to get a table on a Saturday night !!
We have eaten at La Masseria for years, so we will write off this mediocre experience as one bad day in many good ones. However, the noise level was off the charts, and the bar was not crowded! My appetizer was just passable but our pasta specials and dessert were excellent.
The restaurant atmosphere was very cozy and romantic. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food specials and service was great. This is a great restaurant for any special occasion, anniversary, birthday, or date night. Recommend making a reservation as the bar and restaurant tables were full. The buffalo mozzarella appetizer was delicious as was the homemade cheese ravioli and the pasta with grandma's homemade sauce.
Disappointed with the bar service where we had a glass of wine before dinner. We were virtually ignored. Asked for waiter three times for water and never received it. We were actually considering having dinner at the bar - but were made to feel so unwelcome we kept our dinner reservation.
We requested a specific table for dinner and we were not seated at the desired table. The table requested remained empty all evening. We had requested it because it was a quieter corner.
Food was excellent.
After reviewing the menu online, my wife and I decided to give it a try on a Friday night and while the restaurant was already filling up its several dining areas, it did not seem packed and noisy...a nice discovery for a change. We had reserved a table via Open Table and we were immediately seated in one of the upstairs dining areas. We ordered a drink and our waiter showed up to describe the night's specials available in addition to the many varied and delicious sounding items on the regular menu. My wife chose the soup, a salad and an appetizer, while I opted for a salad and one of the nightly specials (Mediterranean Sea Bass). Both were excellent choices and even though we bypassed several courses from the regular menu (a good thing for us!), we were both comfortably full. We finished up with a cappuccino and overall, were very satisfied with the evening's experience. We will return again and bring some friends.
Food was excellent and came out piping hot. We had an avacodo salad that we shared which was so good. It was Tuesday night, so it was 25% off a bottle of wine. Great deal! There were so many specials that it was difficult to decide. Good food, service and wine. Definitely would return.
Celebrated our anniversary at La Masseria and it was a very pleasant experience and a delicious meal. Service was prompt and professional. There were some tantalizing specials in addition to the menu offerings. We both had a pasta dish, preceded by a tasty Clams Casino. An Italian Red Blend accompanied our meals. Nice surprise was that all wines were 25% off on this Sunday evening. Definitely a restaurant for your consideration.
