This is the best food in Telluride—by far—-and atmosphere is perfect for a group that wants quiet sophisticated high end. We’ve been to every restaurant in T-ride and we keep coming back here as our favorite.
Everything was excellent
As always a fantastic meal with great service and great atmosphere.
A wonderful restaurant, excellent food... every appetizer and meal we have tried at La Marmotte have been delicious and top quality . Really exceptional experience.
Great old school type restaurant ... Very well established and consistent in its quality. The service was good ... We felt very comfortable there ... Most importantly, the food was excellent! The soup and the lamb was a homemade tasting: make sure you ask for it ...
We had a great experience in this restaurant. our server was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious especially the lamb that was cooked perfect, it has a really good mushroom risotto. We will be back soon.
The food was good but the very very high pressure attempt to shame me into ordering a more expensive bottle of wine was something I’ve never experienced in any restaurant . I ordered an Oregon Pinot with a 93 rating from the Wine Spectator. The waiter tried 3 times in three visits to push me to more expensive lower rated wines. His attempts in front of my guests to embarrass me were disrespectful and very unprofessional . Lucky for me my guests have been in my 4000 bottle wine cellar and understand my passion for wine. I hope this was just one bad egg and not the overall ethics of this restaurant. That said the waiter spoke like it was his restaurant with his sister over from Eastern Europe in the kitchen.
We hv lived in Telluride for 30 yrs and hv eaten at La Marmotte many times under the previous ownership. To say we were greatly disappointed with our dinner is an understatement. The entree choices were poor and the portions were undersized for the price. We will never be back.
Seems to have hit its stride under the new management and team. Food and service were excellent. Essentially back to being La Marmotte again
Went for happy hour - service, food and environment is perfect. We had perfect cocktails. Presentation of the food was almost a work of art. We will return.
This was once a great Telluride French restaurant. Now there's hardly any French cuisine on the menu other than Cox au Vin, which was tasteless and had the consistency of rubber. The staff were nice but totally confused, fumbling orders like a Mack Sennett comedy. Totally do not recommend going here until they change management and menu.
Our favorite place that we dined in Telluride the entire week. We had a large party of 9 and had dinner in the upstairs attic which gave us some privacy. Our waiter was fantastic. They have an excellent wine selection as well as craft cocktails. The food was superb. Thanks for a great last night in Telluride!
La Marmotte is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The warmth, hospitality ... and the food and wine is amazing. A trip to Telluride is incomplete without a dinner at LM.
Marmotte has been a tradition for our annual friends ski trip the last five years. We always attend on the last night and it never fails to disappoint. The food is always fabulous with lots of new interesting things on the menu every time. The staff is superb. The ambience is perfect. The deviled eggs appetizer is excellent. The Coq a vin perfect after a full day of skiing. Would highly recommend!!
Always a great experience in every way. Highly recommend
Some of the best cuisine in Telluride! Wonderful appetizers, entrées and amazing desserts! this restaurant is an and must if you’re visiting.
I think this restaurant is over rated. The lamb chops were delicious but our experience was tainted by a waiter who forgot to put in our appetizers and suggested the $100 glass of cognac every time he came to the table. I suggest skipping it.
Great place to spend our last evening in Telluride for a romantic evening. Food was delicious but a bit on the pricey side.
The food is good service great always a good time. Clayton the bar tender whips up amazing cocktails
Under new ownership, La Marmotte seems to be continuing and improving on its great French bistro fare. We shared the lamb chops and the dish was perfect. Service was understated but always available, so we never felt interrupted from enjoying our meal. I rated 4 instead of 5 stars on "ambiance" because we were seated near the entrance and closer to the path of food service, but really this had minimal impact on our experience. I expect we'll return again and again.
Service was very slow & inconsistent.
The entire evening was wonderful! We came here for my boyfirend's birthday and were not disappointed!
The staff were extremely charming and attentive and our dinner was delicious!
If you haven't eaten here you should!
All the servers and manager were wonderful and attentive. The food, however, just wasn't up to par and very expensive. The French Onion Soup is a very strange texture as it is pureed instead of the traditional broth, onion, gruyere and bread soup. All of our meals were over salted, and we felt that was one of the only seasonings that were used. The wine list is over the top expensive and very few French wines. Their menu is not listed online anywhere, and honestly we probably would not have gone, had we known that all their pricing was so high. They have a great staff so I hope their food can get up to the level it should be at. One other note, they had the strangest "cool jazz" music playing. We were there late so maybe that was why, still a strange mood to have in a french restaurant.
new manager has managed to create a surprisingly unfriendly atmosphere at what had always been a most welcoming restaurant. Food remains reliably good, service has become haphazard under the new manager
Went with my daughter and we had a great time. Excellent service
A local mentioned there was new ownership and we decided to give it a try. We were disappointed in the food. No good French sauces, fairly bland preparation. The vegetables were supposed to be 'small green' and were just large soggy slices of zucchini. The ambiance was nice and the staff was very pleasant but it was not really a high end French restaurant. I'm sure they will improve and it was not a bad restaurant at all, just didn't meet expectations.
Wonderful restaurant, atmosphere, service and food!
I had the special short rib - it was a little grisly and the mashed potatoes overcooked and runny. Disappointed as it was a special and should have been perfect. Everything else was very good. Excellent service.
Fabulous! Will be back!
Great drinks, great food and great service. You can’t go wrong by going there.
Terrible experience and service. So disappointing, we will not be back.
Excellent service. The food very tasty and of good quality. The new chef is amazing and Cristyn was very friendly. We will be back in March guys.
Our meal and service rocked. Kristen was amazing. Ivan is a great manager. Highly recommend the place for all!!!
Private room upstairs was perfect for our group of 7. Our meals were outstanding and the service made us feel like VIPs. Great way to celebrate our first trip to Telluride. We hope to return soon.
The salmon was excellent. The waitstaff was very friendly
Food was good. Pricey. But no complaints. Service was excellent. Serving staff just seemed discombobulated. They recovered well, just kept bringing wrong food and wrong drinks to the wrong tables. After reading reviews, we were hesitant. Thus the problem with people leaving reviews that expect too much. Don’t let the reviews impact your decision to not eat here. We will come back. Hope they streamline servers a little. Sounds as it has been a problem. However, that shouldn’t stop you from going.
wonderful dinner. Rack of lamb amazing
Food was great. Service was lousy. Made four requests just to get water service
Not many french dishes for a french restaurant, but it was excellent. Appetizers and main courses for four of us — each with something different. Taste and presentation were top notch. Service was great too, but the attention waned some after a larger table was seated. Definitely a place we would return to and recommend to others.
We had to send one entree back to the kitchen. The duck breast was too tough to cut with a knife. The waiter asked if we wanted a shaper knife. I had to go find the waiter to return the plate. The other three entrees were quite good. A very uneven night all around.
