Dining outdoors in the AlpenGlobe with the acoustic guitar duo playing in the courtyard made the evening most enjoyable for us. The fixed menu had lovely choices. Recommend the gazpacho, pork chop, the moules, and creme brûlée. Do not recommend the chicken dish. $300+evening. Would return for special occasion only if able to secure the globe seating.
No recognition of special occasion which was included in the online reservation. Booked outside and seated in an igloo which functioned as an echo chamber for a band that played too loudly so as to stifle conversation and cause ear pain. The restaurant was able to relocate us indoor at a table in the bar which was appreciated as the restaurant was fully booked. Was next to open widows which was good given Covid but had to wear my jacket while eating. Ordered olives that never came. Had to ask twice for olive oil. My buratta salad had a sliver of buratta and I thought they’re just being stingy until I later saw same salad being delivered with buratta balls. Did it fall off the plate? Was it eaten by the staff who might have assumed that I know what buratta was? My main course, Colorado trout almandine was delish! The wine selections, while somewhat on the higher end were very good. Dessert, profiterole, were disappointing as the dough was somewhat tough/gummy. I’m rarely this critical about restaurants. I’ve been a waitress and a bartender in college so I know it’s not always easy and that some things are out of your control but given the price point — $80 pre fixe and the ultimate tab of nearly $300, I expected more.
Generous portions for a prix fix French meal. Locally-sourced veggies and meats. From the amuse-bouche through coffee and dessert, everything was phenomenal. The attention by wait staff makes you feel pampered.
I just think the price tag is beyond reasonable. $30 extra for average scallops .
Best trout ever!! Would love more comfy chairs outside.
Fun date night outb
Cocktails were excellent! We ordered a goat cheese appetizer which was nothing more than goat cheese on top of torn butter leaf lettuce with a light dressing - very bland. The Gazpacho was amazing with crab meat, definitely the highlight of the meal. We also ordered mussels which had a nice sprinkling of saffron. But the mustard in the sauce was so overpowering, we could hardly taste anything else. Pork chops were very good.
We loved everything about La Marmotte. The food was exceptional, the service was warm and friendly, and the space was beautiful. We already made a reservation for the next time we will be in town.
Wonderful Sunday lunch on the patio. Food and service were both terrific. Will return often.
Faboulous food!!! Nice live jazz music!!
Delicious, great atmosphere, great service, great friends!
Amazing service. Amazing food. One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to!
The wait staff were all so professional and an amazing Wine Sommelier. Food was delicious!!!!
Incredible wait staff. We had an amazing experience. Costly but would still go back.
Overall a good dining experience. My wife and I found it interesting that a French Restaurant was not playing some kind of French music. Rather the music detracted from the French ambience.
From a value perspective, both my wife and I felt the food was somewhat overpriced.
A wonderful evening! Food and staff were excellent.
The only restaurant in telluride that we dined at that was missing four items from an already limited menu. The wait staff had to apologize for all the dishes they didn’t have available on the menu. This is not the first time this has happened at this restaurant. They want to play with Sheridan and National from a price perspective and to do that the quality of the food needs to be higher, the menu needs to improve and they need to have everything on a limited menu if that is what they choose to offer.
So delicious! We loved every course. The gazpacho is a must!
Food is always great!! We have been here multiple times over the years. Brought friends here for a wedding celebration. We asked for wine recommendations - I didn’t receive a wine list. We should have asked the price point because the server suggested a bottle that was $150 or so and we had two bottles for dinner. Let’s just say I was expecting to pay an $800 tab for a wedding gift but like I said, it was all great but I should have asked what the price of the wine was based on his recommendation. I’ll be back but I won’t be asking for recommendations again here.
Friendly and attentive service, good food, and excellent champagne.
Absolutely delicious food and impeccable service.
We loved sitting outside in the little globe and Jennifer, our waitress was AMAZING! The food was just ok. And for the price we felt it was not a good value. My husbands lamb chops were tasty but maybe 6 bites and nothing comes with sides in the price fixe menu.
Amazing dinner. We sat in one of the globes in a rainstorm. The food was so terrific, the wait staff were passionate about the food and wine and made great reccos. Highly recommend!
Food was mediocre (except deserts which were quite good). Wine pours were stingy. Service was generally slow -- particularly waiting for our two glasses of wine to be served and then slow again when ordered two more. Seemed to be a bit short-staffed -- we could see our waitress frantically entering other group's orders into the computer while we're still waiting for our wine.
For the price, I would not recommend La Marmotte.
Overall, very disappointing, particularly for the price. The food was delivered cold and the steak was tough.
The trout almandine was superb. Just enough vinaigrette on top of the haricots verts which were on top of the trout to bring out the flavor but not overwhelm. The trout was butterflied and filleted with a crispy skin on the bottom. The staff were gracious and attentive to every need and detail. I had five of the staff stop by to check on me and chat about the food and the restaurant. They all seemed to love their job, which was a delight. Kudos to head chef, Stephanie, for her work at putting together such a splendid menu with delightful presentations. I also had the beet salad, which was a meal in itself. It was beautifully presented with crème fraiche and a hint of both sweet and sour paprika. The portions of all the meals were more American rather than French, meaning they were more than generous for a hearty eater. I was not able to finish mine, but enjoyed it for brunch the next day. The restaurant was recently remodeled under new management last December, and the pods created for patrons due to Covid are charming. I highly recommend you try La Marmotte! You will not be disappointed. I will definitely go again on my next visit to Telluride!
Can't believe we have waited so long to give La Marmotte a try! We've been literally everywhere else in Telluride and I can tell you our experience at La Marmotte was right up there with the best of them. Food was outstanding, although I would suggest that all plates be served together - a couple in our party of 4 had to wait longer than 5 minutes for their entree's after the other entree's were placed - that's my biggest complaint. Other than that, excellent.
Amazing experience all around from service to food to setting. Definitely recommend while in Telluride.
New owners, new menu, new chefs, slightly new decor, still awesome French food This place is back. We’d been patrons for 30 years and it was going downhill, but the new iteration is wonderful! Good job!
I don’t like the fixed menu they’ve adopted with the née owners. You’re committing to three course meals.
Hunter was our server and he was excellent! Will recommend!
Loved the lamb and the trout. Also, the pea salad and the beet salad. Finally the olive oil cake was a winner.
Our waitress was very nice and helpful! We loved the whole experience
La Marmotte is our date night/special occasion go-to. New server Hunter was excellent. The food, as always, was superb. Our little onion dome outside was cozy and comfortable.
Website did not indicate a price fixed menu. Wines by the glass were very expensive ($25/glass) & many menu items had an added $30 to the prix fixe menu. Also, the restaurant was out of trout, which we were hoping to have as our entrees.
I was disappointed in the pre fix menu. The setting is beautiful the service was great but $150 for lunch is a little over the top. Change the menu and get the pricing right for lunch and you will be full everyday Current pricing and menu will turn customers away at lunch. The town needs a good casual lunch spot .
Great service and fantastic food. Best in Telluride !
Our recent dinner was exceptional in every respect—service, food and ambience. We have eaten in some of the best French restaurants in NYC and LA (and in France) and found chef Stephanie's light touch on classic dishes to be a wonderful surprise. It was especially nice to be able to meet her and talk about her experience and approach. Kudos to everyone at La Marmotte.
We had the privilege of dining at La Marmotte on opening night and was blown away by the food and service!! Every plate was just amazing.
