My husband’s filet was initially undercooked. When server re-delivered it was cooked to requested temperature but the meat was so difficult to cut with knife and chewy that he returned entire plate to kitchen. So my husband had no entree. Everything else was delicious.
Mel is a fantastic bartender. She made our experience amazing. The food is exceptional.
Consistently one of the best in Telluride.
We were vacationing in Telluride and tried a different restaurant every night ! I understand that it can get really busy during spring break so when we came into the restaurant at the time of our reservation the receptionist took our name and said we still had to wait for our table ! Other parties came in and she helped them and took them to their table ! We waited 15 minutes and she totally ignored us ! We had a similar situation at the restaurant Side walks” the night before ! The owner came and apologized that we had to wait 5 min! They offered us a glass of champagne and were really nice ! This receptionist at la Marmotte never even apologized, she handled the entire situation very unprofessional! If this would not have been a busy night at probably all restaurants we would have left ! The food itself was great, we just were very disappointed about the bad service of the (blonde) receptionist ! She should get a job where no customer service is required !
Fine dining, pricy, very good food. We went on a Saturday night, kitchen was very slow, which diminished the experience.
We always eat here when in Telluride and LaMarmotte always delivers. The food and atmosphere are excellent. The service is very attentive. It is a unique place to have dinner as it is in an old rustic ice house. It is cozy, warm and charming. The food is delicious. The menu changes often and is seasonal. We have eaten at the bar and at tables and enjoyed each experience. We can't wait to make our next reservation!
As usual the food was very good and the service exceptional. The chocolate mousse was perfect . . . light and not too sweet. The only downside to the evening was the noise level. It was hard for us to hear each other across the table.
No one to greet you at the door for what seemed forever. Bartender never acknowledged our presence. Waiter was indifferent, aloof and not familiar with the menu. My duck was on the rubbery side and within two minutes of being served was swimming in a sea of gravy of blended accoutrements. Our least favorite of the four restaurants we visited in Telluride.
I would not recommend this restaurant at all. In fact, I had a reservation for 4/1 and have cancelled it.
The waiter was unfriendly, actually rude. He could not have cared less. Two of us ordered the lamb chops. My friend ordered hers rare, and that is how it was served. I ordered mine medium well, and it was served just as rare as my friends. I sent it back a total of 3 times before I was able to eat it. The waiter seemed annoyed. In fact, the third time he brought it to me he never even checked back to see if it was OK. And no manager came over to our table, despite the debacle.
Great meal, excellent service, friendly and knowledgable staff.
I’m so sorry that I must say our food was cold. We never complain but thought it was important to let you know. Also, our table was so close to another table that our conversations were not private.
Great restaurant! Food and service were superb. Very cozy ambience. Can't wait to go back!
Made a reservation for 8:30. Arrived a little early (8:15) to have a cocktail & enjoy conversation. At 8:30, I was told my table would be ready soon to which I responded with a “no problem”. Then as we sat at the bar with our cocktails, I watched several people enter, talk to the hostess, then be led to a table. Meanwhile, it’s now 9:00 & we are still waiting after several assurances that we would be seated any moment.
I was incredibly tempted to leave & just grab a quick bite anywhere else, however, I waited. Finally after another 10 minutes, now 9:10pm, we are finally led to our table. I must say the food was delicious. Had a wonderful salmon dish for entree. Of course with being seated so late, the place was filled with diners and it’s not a quiet place. I wasn’t looking for quiet so there was no bother there. I was, however, not really comfortable being the last people there due to such late seating and everyone starts cleaning up around us.
relaxing and small environment with outstanding menu and great service. Wine list is tops
A great restaurant just steps from the Gondola. I had a great striped bass. This restaurant is always consistent for service and great food.
Wonderful food, wonderful service. Always a favorite when I'm in Telluride.
Overall a good place to go when in Telluride. Cozy place in the winter.
Excellent menu. Friendly service. We love this place for many years
The food is superb. Entrees were served an hour and 45 minutes after seating. I think they have one chef, so need to allow adequate time. The food is outstanding.
Marmotte continues to be one of the top tier restaurants in Telluride. I was worried that the expansion into the Denver market would hurt the operation in Telluride. I asked my server about the Denver operation, and he told me that it had been sold to a different ownership group, to my great relief. Merci!
Thank you for the pleasant evening!
Good atmosphere, splendid menu, splendidly served.
Love the food, great service.
We had apps at the bar and the drinks and charcuterie plate were wonderful, as was the service. We then proceeded to dinner in the main restaurant and unfortunately our main courses were inedible. The pork we ordered as medium rare came out more than well done. My chicken, despite being braised, was somehow dry and slimy with a sour taste. Our waiter felt terrible and did not charge us for the pork, and we didn’t have the heart to tell him about the chicken. While we were paying our bill, we heard the waiter say he didn’t charge the table next to us for their fish because it was overdone.
food has several upscale enterees, duck, etc so not a family restaurant
We have enjoyed this restaurant each visit to Telluride over the last few years, and it is always one of our favorite places to eat.
This used to be our favorite restaurant in Telluride. It has been many years since we have dined here and were looking forward to our dinner, but on a recent visit we were disappointed.
The "Blended" French Onion Soup is no comparison to the real thing. This is a French Restaurant!
I had a difficult time choosing an entree--not a normal thing for me! I never order or eat chicken but because of menu choices, I ordered the Coq Au Vin which was above average...
My husband ordered a chocolate desert which was mediocre.
Our waiter did a great job in helping us pick a wonderful wine and he was quite attentive.
It is a beautiful dining room and wonderful location but lacked the personal touch and food of the past...
Always a great expirence. So perfect and intimate in every way. A great place to dine and actually carry on a conversation! The food never disappoints,
The sea bass I had was prepared perfectly and the apps and service was great.
Every time we have eaten here it has been outstanding!! Thank you from a CA foodie!
Great meal in intimate setting. We were in Telluride for a few days and this was a high lite. Will definitely go again.
Quaint French ambience with classic French cuisine. Delightful.
Awesome. As usual.
Delicious food and a great ambiance! I will definitely go back again when I'm in town
Another great visit to La Marmotte......always a special and intimate atmosphere and delicious food.
Amazing and delicious. Fantastic Service! cozy ambiance.
Second time dining at La Marmotte. Excellent food, excellent service.
very over priced and complemented with poor food and matching service would not make this a choice again in spite of the seemly good reviews. locals suggest this may have been an off day but this was certainly not a good experience that we would try again
We enjoyed the pre-set menu on New Years Eve with our group of 12. The service was great, we were seated promptly and not rushed through our meal, which can sometimes happen on NYE.
The food one of the nest I've had in Telluride. Will be back.
Onion soup amazing - would come back just for that
