Overall a good place to go when in Telluride. Cozy place in the winter.
Excellent menu. Friendly service. We love this place for many years
The food is superb. Entrees were served an hour and 45 minutes after seating. I think they have one chef, so need to allow adequate time. The food is outstanding.
Marmotte continues to be one of the top tier restaurants in Telluride. I was worried that the expansion into the Denver market would hurt the operation in Telluride. I asked my server about the Denver operation, and he told me that it had been sold to a different ownership group, to my great relief. Merci!
Thank you for the pleasant evening!
Good atmosphere, splendid menu, splendidly served.
Love the food, great service.
We had apps at the bar and the drinks and charcuterie plate were wonderful, as was the service. We then proceeded to dinner in the main restaurant and unfortunately our main courses were inedible. The pork we ordered as medium rare came out more than well done. My chicken, despite being braised, was somehow dry and slimy with a sour taste. Our waiter felt terrible and did not charge us for the pork, and we didn’t have the heart to tell him about the chicken. While we were paying our bill, we heard the waiter say he didn’t charge the table next to us for their fish because it was overdone.
food has several upscale enterees, duck, etc so not a family restaurant
We have enjoyed this restaurant each visit to Telluride over the last few years, and it is always one of our favorite places to eat.
This used to be our favorite restaurant in Telluride. It has been many years since we have dined here and were looking forward to our dinner, but on a recent visit we were disappointed.
The "Blended" French Onion Soup is no comparison to the real thing. This is a French Restaurant!
I had a difficult time choosing an entree--not a normal thing for me! I never order or eat chicken but because of menu choices, I ordered the Coq Au Vin which was above average...
My husband ordered a chocolate desert which was mediocre.
Our waiter did a great job in helping us pick a wonderful wine and he was quite attentive.
It is a beautiful dining room and wonderful location but lacked the personal touch and food of the past...
Always a great expirence. So perfect and intimate in every way. A great place to dine and actually carry on a conversation! The food never disappoints,
The sea bass I had was prepared perfectly and the apps and service was great.
Every time we have eaten here it has been outstanding!! Thank you from a CA foodie!
Great meal in intimate setting. We were in Telluride for a few days and this was a high lite. Will definitely go again.
Quaint French ambience with classic French cuisine. Delightful.
Awesome. As usual.
Delicious food and a great ambiance! I will definitely go back again when I'm in town
Another great visit to La Marmotte......always a special and intimate atmosphere and delicious food.
Amazing and delicious. Fantastic Service! cozy ambiance.
Second time dining at La Marmotte. Excellent food, excellent service.
very over priced and complemented with poor food and matching service would not make this a choice again in spite of the seemly good reviews. locals suggest this may have been an off day but this was certainly not a good experience that we would try again
We enjoyed the pre-set menu on New Years Eve with our group of 12. The service was great, we were seated promptly and not rushed through our meal, which can sometimes happen on NYE.
The food one of the nest I've had in Telluride. Will be back.
Onion soup amazing - would come back just for that
A perfect experience. The food was amazing. The staff was courteous and attentive. So yummy.
Great variety; backed up by solid taste. Service was good as servers were attentive. Sitting at the bar is not encouraged... as service was lackluster.
Excellent , so glad we could get in this year! Good food, good environment, good service! Fun night, romantic too!
Never disappointed at La Marmotte.
Staff has been there for years and it shows by how well they know their menus and customers. Food was sensational and like any French restaurant this is a place to seat down and enjoy your meal, please don’t go there if you’re in a rush to get somewhere else.
We saved La Marmotte for our last dinner out in Telluride, relying on the recommendation of our travel agent. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. To begin, we ordered appetizers and , which were very good except that the French onion soup was not hot. The server seemed nervous, distracted, and unfamiliar with the menu.
The four of us ordered three different beef entrees and one chicken entree. All four came with the exact same brown sauce, and It all looked like banquet food. I had ordered the beef tenderloin, which arrived in thin slices with a fat cap on the ends. My son had ordered the ribeye, which arrived as a round steak sliced in half horizontally. Both plates had the wrong accompaniments. It was obvious to us that the steaks had been swapped and needed to be replated, but both the waiter and then the hostess (whom he consulted) insisted that the plates were correct. That neither of them could tell the difference between a filet and a ribeye is inexcusable, especially when there are only 8 entrees on the menu.
When we persisted, the two of them took the plates to the “chef” and explained to him loudly that “she has a problem with how it is sliced.” They then returned only to tell us that he chef confirmed that we were right, and the steaks had been swapped. Instead of remove them and replate them properly, they told me to give my onion rings to my son and swap plates to fix the problem. I pointed out that I also had the wrong potatoes, so they brought a side of au gratin potatoes, plopped it down in front of me, and asked “is there anything else wrong?” By now, of course, everyone’s food was cold, and I still did not have the correct vegetables. We ate what we had, but the meal was ruined, as was my appetite.
As compensation, we were not charged for one of the steaks and we were offered complimentary dessert. The waiter apologized, but the rude hostess never did. Overall it was an affirmatively unpleasant experience.
