La Marina Ratings and Reviews
Give 1 star because there's no way of giving a lower rating. The experience was pathetic, frustrating unpleasant to say the least. So bad that despite having a reserve just decided to go elsewhere and not eat there.
The hostess greats people as if she was doing a favor to you by receiving and making you wait for nothing. The "so" called "manager" (sorry it sounds despective but such a character is either not a manager or does not deserve to be) has no respect for the customer. Essentially I feel there's absolute lack of recognition to the patron and the fact that you're choosing a place to spend your money and enjoy; by the, the money which pays their salaries.
Would never consider this place again as an option; it's absolute worthless.
A place like this does not deserve to be in Open Table
This is a vibrant bar scene located on the Hudson River. I arrived by boat for a Sunday brunch. The staff was attentive, the food was nicely portioned and creative. The only issue was a "suggested" 18% gratuity added to the food and bar bills. No matter the number of people the gratuity will be added. However, the percentage is truly not 18 but more like 25-28%. So, just keep an eye on your bill.
Food sucked, music was garbage, they only allowed us to eat indoors and only allowed hookah outdoors - we wanted to eat drink and smoke hookah all outdoors and they were not accommodating at all. ON TOP OF THAT hookah was so small and gross and was $35 and HAD TO BE PAID IN CASH. Who carries around cash noawadays and why couldn't it have just been added to our food and beverage bill? I will never be visiting this place again. Dj was playin music from 5-10 years ago.
Attended Brunch Bounce End of Summer party, with seating at La Marina post-event. Our meal was excellent (all seafood) , and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant after the event. Our server was attentive, and the ambiance was quiet and comfortable after the event. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Love the view at night with the lights of the GWB as a background, service very friendly, I was expecting some Latin food in the menu due to the location....at least stuffed "tostones" with seafood...hint, hint ;-)
I want to return in the summer....I recommend this place for couples, friends and happy hour!
Water front views were good, made reservations for the restaurant and it was closed when we got there had to eat from taco food trucks that was there ordered 2 drinks $38.50 I ask the waitress why does 2 glass of sangria cost so much she said "its automatic gratuity on each order placed" drinks are actually 20 rest was tax and gratuity 18.50 the view is good everything else sucks ....
It was my wife and I first time there and it was awesome. It was right on the river, the service was great and the food was good. We met the manger Stefan who was polite and professional and made sure everything was ok. I will be back before they close for the season.
Noisy, the music is tooo loud, its a restaurant not a club, you can have ambiance without blasting my ears off, and it wasnt good music.
The location is great, but the service is very very lackluster. My appetizer went to the wrong table, and by the time my waiter came back he told me it went to the wrong table but didnt come with a new appetizer ready!
The rose sangria drink is absolutely disgusting, the wine taste old, and the fruit looked like it was ready to be thrown out. Also, there is not reason why you should only have one flavor of frozen Daquiri at any time, mango is good but where are the options???
Our food was perfect & delicious. Waitress service while dining phenomenal. Sue was our server and she was great & even got us truffle fries even though they werent on the brunch menu :)
When we moved over to cocktail outdoor lounge our service was terrible. Sara was our waitress and she only came over when we asked someone to get her. She did not check on us. Was not friendly & very unaccommodating. The manager gave us a sangria pitcher on the house after i requested in good faith of poor service but our service did not change after that. So 5 Stars to Restaurant!! 3 stars to the cocktail lounge & 1 1/2 of those stars is for ambience of water & view.
The views from this restaurant are amazing but food and service was lacking. Although the manager heard our concerns I don't think I will be going back. This place has potential but please switch up the menu options and train staff. I will say Franklin (waiter) did his best to remedy the situation.
We were celebrating my birthday (table or 2) and made reservations for La Marina on a Wednesday for a Saturday. When you "request" an outside table note, that's all it is, even if there are empty tables available. We got an inside table because the "Hostess" who lacks any type of hospitality skills stated that the outside table request I made could not be honored since all it was was a request and there would be "others" who would be sitting there. When we were finally seated we noticed THREE empty tables for two. NOTE the next couple who was seated at an outside table arrived 20 minutes after we did. The next couple arrived 45 minutes later, when we were almost finished with our dinner. The third empty table for 2 was never filled. The restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday, must be to the poor service. With such a beautiful view there were more people sitting inside than outside, WHAT A SHAME!!!
The food was good, but the experience killed the entire mood. This was totally unnecessary.
I counted at least 1 empty table for 2 the entire time we were there and at least 8 empty tables for 4!!!!!! And we were told there weren't any available. One would have to be blind not to notice!!!!
When we got there the valet parking was full and two of the nearby garages. It took us 20 mins to find parking then we got to the restaurant we were told we could not be seated because the kitchen was closing. The kitchen closed a HALF hour after our reservation time smh... what was the point
