The food is fantastic. Our server was very informative and pointed out signature dishes on the menu. He started out attentive, and then later took 25 minutes to bring me another glass of wine.

Staff did an amazing job helping me make engagement proposal flawless. Set up best seat in the house with an amazing view, rose pedals on the table, and complimentary campaign. we enjoyed several of their amazing pisco drink variation, and enjoyed the chefs tasting menu.
Food and drinks was amazing. They truly went above and beyond making it a night to remember.

The food was delicious a little over priced but it was good. However my bank statement showed a total that was completely different than my receipt i got from the restaurant!

The place was excellent, beautiful view of the city skyline and great service, the food presentation and quality was stupend.
Our server Alvaro and his assistant Claudia took care of us gracefully.

Me and wife decided to celebrate our anniversary at La Mar. Below is what I think of this restaurant.

1. I specifically requested on Open table and calling the reception, for outdoor seating by the water so my wife could enjoy the view, but that didn’t happen. We were seated next to the wall. If a quality restaurant like La Mar cannot satisfy this request in an anniversary, do I expect it from McDonalds?

2. Service is slow. We had to wait over 30 mins for the main course after we were done with appetizers. This was same with most of the tables

3. Food was cold

4. The good point about this restaurant is that the food is awesome.

Conclusion: if you really don’t care about seating, special request, service, wait time for the food to arrive and ONLY care about the food, then I would go here. Else please avoid.

Outstanding in every way. Food was beautifully presented and was amazing. Waiter was more of a concierge with vast knowledge that helped guide to what we would like. Ended up doing the tasting menu. Drinks were also outstanding.

Best food we had in a while in Miami. Our waitress, Jennifer, was awesome. One of the managers, Pedro, was also very attentive. Definitely recommended, definitely will be back.

We had a few issues initially with seating, and ended up moving to the bar due to lack of a server coming over for over 10 minutes to even take our drink order (we figured perhaps they were short-staffed that evening), but the manager did a nice thing for us and moved us outside, where the views are, quite simply, spectacular. The food was tasty and well-portioned, and the pisco sours are the best in the city - the closest thing to having a pisco sour at a place like La Mar in Lima, Peru. Generally, a really nice experience, and a great choice for a nice dinner out.

We walked in at 9:00 and asked for a table for 4. They said they were absolutely booked even though there were plenty of empty tables. We went to the bar and were going to eat there. I opened up the Open Table app to see if there were reservations available and there were reservations available ranging from 9:15 pm til closing.

I don’t know that I’d ever eat there again considering they told me to my face that we couldn’t be accommodated even though there were plenty of open tables.

Thank you Open Table for providing one of the many empty tables for our party to sit and eat.

It was way too nosy inside the restaurant. The appetizers were great but the main course fish came ay too salty. I would not go back.

This is the best Peruvian Food in Miami. We always get the Lujoso ceviche is our favorite. I wish they open one in Denver, Colorado.

Sent back a main course. So bad we had to spit it out back into the plate. We are Latin Americans and know how this food should taste. Gaston would be ashamed to eat here. Other courses seemed done in a hurry and mostly tasteless. Incredible for such an expensive restaurant at a top hotel. Been going there since it opened but now never going back. Progressively worse each visit.

Location on the water is great and the background music was a nice touch with some classics from the 80's and 90's playing at a nice level. Lively scene but still able to talk without having to raise your voice. The food was outstanding and fairly priced. Service was professional and timely. Only slight negative was the wine list: a bit limited and pricey.

Food was excellent. With a wide variety and lots of choice. The service at the table was good. Waiter new the dishes, ingredients, preparations and the wines. But the reception was a disaster and did not match the ambition level of the restaurant and its price level. Four people trying to get control over the process of assigning tables to people. What an absolute chaos. They did not know what they were doing. They were hopelessly behind schedule resulting in a long queue around the reception area, guests getting agitated, long waiting times and a general feel of not being welcome. Middle aged men in fancy Italian suites being more worried about their looks rather than helping guests in a smooth way to their table. Just hanging around w/o doing anything. For the food I would consider to come back. But at this level (and price) there are way better options in town (with places that care about their guests and train their staff properly).

La Mar is one of my favorite restaurants to have dinner when I am in town. It is an amazing Peruvian spot, and every plate has such a burst of flavor. The service is wonderful and the views are beautiful. I always request a seat outside, and even with reservations, there will be a slight wait (it's a given for an outdoor table). I usually get a drink at the bar and take in the atmosphere. You get a lot for your money, especially because it is decently priced. I highly recommend this spot.

Food was good, nothing incredibly special. The location over looking the water and parts of Brickell is nice. The service needs improvement and would have made the evening better. It was not terribly attentive nor was is it particularly personalized. Overall ok experience, not a whole lot to make me want to go back.

We went there for Easter night dinner and sat outside on the patio, the view was amazing. We couldn't decide what to order so we thought the Chef's tasting menu would be a nice way to try some of the specialties. My son wanted beer so I ordered wine by the glass and the selection was varied enough. Now just sit back and enjoy the water and chef specialties..let's dine. Instead of the usual Chef tastings that I've had in other restaurants, they brought out the first 3 "courses" all at once. They only gave us one appetizer plate which meant all of the different flavors just melded together, the blue crab on mashed potatoes was yummy;. Same with the entrees, delivered at the same time but with a bigger plate this go round. It was not crazy busy or extremely late so I'm not sure why they threw all of the food at us at once..some tasting experience. I would go into detail about the dishes but they were hardly explained. The salmon dish was fantastic . The chocolate mousse dessert was good, but nothing was amazing. I don't agree with the automatic 18% tip for a table of two; it is bull!! I am a good tipper and never leave less than 20 % but this may have been what encouraged such mediocre service! I would not waste the money to eat there again, they may have been great once but no more.

The main course was cold and mediocre and they refused to do anything about it. They also had a surprise up charge on their martinis because they said that they pour more vodka and a martini than they do in a regular vodka drink. That came right off the bill. Shame on them. The fact that the restaurant manager did not even come over and have a conversation with us makes me give this place a poor rating and we have no desire to ever come back here.

Food is exceptional. But everything else - the hosts, service and reservations made our experience frustrating. Went for my birthday. Made reservations ahead of time through OpenTable as Google suggested. But the host did not have a table reserved in the outside section when we arrived. So instead she sat us inside way in the back amongst many open tables, in a loud and high traffic service area. Why make reservations then? The service was incredibly slow for 9pm on a Wednesday. Didn't get out of there until 11pm.
