La Mar by Gastón Acurio Ratings and Reviews
Service is too quick: food is served within a minute after placing your order and the following dishes are put on your table before you have finished the previous one ... it feels like taking part in an eating contest! Also, the tables for 2 people are too long so that you have to shout to your partner: don't come here if you want a conversation.
But I do like coming to this restaurant because the food is good and the cocktails are amazing.
I was really excited to come here, I’ve heard very good things and understood this place to be a fancy place for a date night with romantic seating. When we got there, they were on a 30 minute wait with the reservation (my date and I stood around because there no seats at the bar), they weren’t allowing outside seating, and we were cramped between two other loud tables inside. Also I love ceviche but this ceviche was completely red and raw with little lime juice. The restaurant itself was nice and the service was decent but for the price and hype, it was not what I had expected.
I've come here several times to celebrate life moments and never disappoints. The food is delicious and unique. The service is friendly and accommodating. My favorite dishes are the Bachiche Tiradito and the Chaufa Aeropuerto (this is the best fried rice I've ever had). We recently tried the Cheeks Asado and the meat was extremely tender and juicy. It was Delicious!
Amazing Peruvian cousine !!!!We came after watching the Netflix show “Finding Gaston “ ! We love Chef ‘s approach towards the concept towards the food !!!!!The history behind every plate is what makes this place amazing ! The Seviche Clásico was spectacular !!!!!
I was excited to dine here after spending a day at the spa however I was not impressed with the food nor service. From the beginning our waiter made us feel as if we knew nothing about food or Peruvian cuisines, which happens to be one of our Favorite cuisines. We accepted it and hoped the food was to cover the bad etiquette from our waiter. When the food arrived it was nothing what we expected as the preparation was not what we repeatedly asked for even after we directly asked if the food was prepared a specific way. We left feeling happy to be going home versus enjoying the food. Condescending remarks from a waiter is never appreciated specially when you’re asking if something is supposed to look and taste raw.
We got the lunch special - at $25 for appetizers (ceviche, causa and anticucho) plus a main - which was an great deal. The ceviche and causa were tasty, but the yellow pepper sauce was too mild and the quinoa caprese needs a bit more heft to be an actual main dish. It's simply a bunch of too vinegary yellow pepper sauce with a couple of tomatoes, a little bit of cheese and a sprinkling of quinoa swimming in it. I recommend adding more quinoa to make it less of a soup and more of a lunch salad. The service was great - we were dining with two babies so that's always complicated but everyone was really helpful and accommodating of our requests. Great scenic view and great open space.
