La Luce Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed with the dinner experience overall. The food was OK but not anything special. Prices were extremely high for the food and service. The waiter tried to be nice but even she was embarrassed for the time it took to them to brink our food. The soup we ordered came almost right away after we ordered but then the main dish took almost one hour to come that was totally unacceptable!! I had a good expectation from the reviews we read but overall it was not a good dinner experience!!
We arrived at Luce, the service was friendly and the food was good. Prices were on the higher end for the United States. The downside was the atmosphere, lights was too bright (and yes the restaurant is called Light) and yes we were in an hotel but a room can be made more intimate and here no effort were made. Overall the food was good with good ingredients and considering that we were overnighting in Orlando I believe it was one of the better option available.
Insofar as our schedule allows, my wife and I head over to Bonnet Creek and enjoy Valentine's Day dinner at La Luce; as with everything they do, they make V Day special. We started with some prosecco' Chef Alberto surprised us with a heart-shaped house-cured "lipstick" salmon. The salmon was cured along with some beets, which made the edges red. It was - hands down - the BEST salmon we've ever had. It is on the regular app menu. We moved on to house salads - my wife had the Tricolore, and I had the warm cauliflower salad with imported cannellini beans. My wife had the salmon and unctuous Brussels Sprouts, and I had the Vesuvio ai Funghi pasta - it was outstanding - house made pasta, truffle cheese, mushrooms...a real treat. We finished up with La Luce's take on a light, airy and delicious strawberry shortcake with custom heart-shaped chocolates. All in all - a perfect Valentines Day !!
Second time returning to this amazing place, this time for our 1 Year Anniversary. Amazing service and this time we wanted Vegan options so what does our amazing server do? She asks one of the Vegan servers to kindly swing by our table and do a complete rundown! They were both super helpful and friendly. We shared Vegan versions of the mushroom pasta and beet salad and they were phenomenal. Oh and btw, we did this with our 10:30 reservation after floating in the hotel's lazy river outside with drinks in hand. Spectacular anniversary and La Luce was a big part of that.
The ambiance is not special; the TV at the bar and the big white table left me with a very casual, almost sports bar theme.
The waiter described the special well, but I wasn’t impressed with the boar bolognese. The pasta was supposedly infused with basil, but I couldn’t detect it, and I love basil.
My husband enjoyed the carpaccio.
Our water was served tap warm and without ice. I requested a glass of ice, which was not refilled.
This restaurant is supposed to be the premier of the Hilton, but it was many levels below the Waldorf Bull and Bear in terms of quality of food, service, and ambiance.
My daughter often stays at the Waldorf , and I told her to not bother with la Luce.
Got a late night reservation
Valet parking was full but several guys showed up and sped us through
Was seated right away nice table for 2 people
Started off with meat and cheese board was very flavorful great choices of meat and cheeses
Dinner was ribeye for me and pork chop for my friend
Both were cooked as requested and the vegetable and grains where cooked perfectly
For desert we shared the truffle which was very rich and well done
The servers took turns asking us if anything else
The quality of food and service and overall experience was worth it
Hilda (our waitress) was not that great. We had to look for her many times throughout our dining experience. My ravioli was made with a bit too much lemon flavor, but I was no means starving - food is all good here. Wish our waitress was more attentive and cared about us, but everyone else we had to speak to because Hilda was no where to be found was amazing and followed through on our needs.
I’ve been here before, several times, and I never regret going. The pasta is always fantastic.
My one qualm this time around- I split the caprese with my mom and the tomatoes were definitely a little too ripe. Not a problem that stopped me from eating them, but just one that slightly detracted from the flavor.
Our server was awesome and gave perfect wine suggestions.
I am always happy to go back.
Our dining experience was very pleasant overall. The food was good, however, the signature dish that waiters touted as the best dish on the menu was less than noteworthy. The pork by description sounded lovely but when it came out not once but twice over cooked, we decided to call it a day and share my meal. The staff was very pleasant and polite in dealing with this issue. They were prompt in providing a second order, provided a complimentary glass of wine, and a complimentary dessert. Overall we had a nice evening.
La Luce is the best Italian restaurant in the south! Plus, it's quiet (while still being busy enough) and away from all the Disney crowds, screaming kids, etc. It is still kid-friendly (my girls love the pizza topped with fries!). Great salads, fish and wines too. Service staff is lovely. We have been here 3 times and it never disappoints!
Excellent New Year's Eve dining experience! Our waiter Joe was attentive, knowledgeable and clearly wanted us to have the best experience. The menu had many appealing food and wine choices and our selections made for delicious meal. We have dined here before and will return again!
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge. Lobster risotto special was under impressive, especially at $44. Food preparation time was very slow and it didn’t feel like waiter and kitchen were in direct communication.
Unfortunately can not recommend this restaurant
The beet, green bean, fennel, blue cheese vinegarette salad was outstanding! I , surprisingly, didn't care for the pasta dish we ordered...but it was authentic and fresh pasta. If I had it to do over again...I would have ordered two of the beet salads :) wonderful!
