La Luce Ratings and Reviews
Positive Features: fine service, especially toward end of meal (e.g., provided an excellent complimentary dessert to honor our daughter's wedding). Well appointed facility. The soup and salad specials were very good.
Main Negative: The heart of the meal is the entree. Our group had three different entrees. All three were pedestrian offerings at best. For the price paid, this was most disappointing.
Minor Issue: We were told that our car had been called for before we departed our table. This proved untrue when we got outside.
We dined here just last weekend, while we were attending a sporting event in Disney World. We were not staying at the hotel where it is located, so we were directed to park in the adjacent parking garage. The meal was fine and food was good. However, when I went to pay for parking, it was an outrageous amount ($27 for about 1 hour, 15 minutes). I do not think the meal was worth it given the high parking cost. Beware of parking fee.
The food at La Luce is excellent. We especially love their pasta. The restaurant is also great for kids--they have a kids menu and crayons to color on the paper tablecloth.
This was our second visit. My only complaint was the service--we were being helped by 2 waiters, which we were told once we were seated. The first half of the meal was great, we were checked on and drinks were refilled. In the middle of the meal (perhaps when the second waiter was taking over?), we were ignored. Then our son's birthday dessert was brought out prior to the rest of the table ordering dessert. The birthday dessert was left on the table by the waiter, who then disappeared. Our dessert orders weren't even taken until after my son had finished his cake.
It seemed weirdly intentional that 2 waiters take care of our table. The first waiter was still working but was helping other tables. I'm really confused by this service model. It seems like it would be very easy for there to be miscommunication and discontinuity of service.
Stellar food and service. Our waiter, Stefan, knew the menu well enough to fend off food allergies w/o having to consult the kitchen. My husband raved over the olive appetizer. My salmon was delectable, his featured fish quite tasty. We shared the well-reviewed. Uttercot h pudding and it was worth every calorie. Don’t know if this is an Orlando restaurant thing, but our server offered what he felt was a better wine, and he was right.
Great tasting food. I would hope they expand their pasta options. I really wanted an Alfredo sauce, and they only had an Alfredo-esque lemon sauce on a ravioli dish.
They were flexible and put the lemon cream sauce on spaghetti type pasta. It was fantastic, but felt they really should offer an Alfredo type sauce on more types of pasta on their menu, since they are an Italian restaurant and make home made pasta at the restaurant, which is fabulous by the way. Even a basic fettuccine Alfredo, with a meat like chicken would be a great addition.
We enjoyed another delicious meal at La Luce. While in Orlando we always visit this restaurant at least once. The food is always predictably good and the atmosphere fun. This visit was made especially special by the attentive service of our waiter. We enjoyed excellent service and great conversation with him throughout our evening. We will be back!
We indulged in the food and wine pairing, but the cuisine was the star. Excellent variety and quality and served very timely. I had heard of the butterscotch pudding (already a favorite of mine) along w/ homemade toffee, but this was not part of the prix fixe pairings. I was thrilled that they allowed this substitution and even more so when it was delivered. Honestly one of the best desserts I have ever had. Thank you for that!
I sat at the bar alone and was treated royally. The bartender/server knew exactly how to deal with me. Lovely gin and tonics -- first person to ask me if I'd like a cucumber and/or line with it. The food was excellent. I had the Caesar salad and the days special pasta. The desserts looked great but I passed on that. Overall excellent job.
I ate here both both Friday and Saturday nights and I have dined here many tines in the last 5 years. We are foodies and like good food, but the food here is not good . ITS GREAT!!
It is our favorite restaurant in Orlando and have even dined here when staying on Disney property. Highly recommend and in many on my friends and family have dined here.
We will be back.!!
We went to La Luce because of the trip advisor reviews and to be honest we choose and were advised poorly. There was nothing wrong with anything we were served but the seasonal tasting menu is more like a pre-theatre back in the UK and we should have gone with the a la carte.
That said the service and management response was very good and rescued an otherwise under whelming dining experience. Because of this we will return to sample tgeir stronger dishes. Just wish we could have done that this time.
Loved the dining experience. We came in to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. It was a perfect choice. Our server Karina was very pleasant and made our night special. I had the Bianchi and Neri amazing and my husband tried the spicy half chicken. He said it was the best chicken he had ever had. It was very juicy and flavorful. The crispy skin sold him. My pasta was so delicious. Very deep flavors and you can tell the difference between pasta and homemade pasta! Also tried the fried olives, a must try appetizer. They even presented us with a dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely return for any occasion.
Very Warm, welcoming and personal service from lovely waiting team. Accommodating, with no fuss, the wishes of our kids who wanted ‘adult’ food but kids portions (I.e messing about with the menu!!). Delicious food - fab half chicken with crispy skin - succulent and yummy, nice home made pasta, yummy tiramisu). Great experience overall. Would definitely visit again.
Nice place, excellent service and delicious food. I ordered lamb meatballs for main course and leek soup for the appetizer. Both were excellent. The dessert a panacotta pastry was delicious and artsy presented. Our waiter Rusty was very helpful and professional. If we come back to Orlando definitely will dine again at La Luce
Special kudos to Debra and Nola who served us and saw to it that we were comfortable. We came all prepared to eat from a special Food and Wine pre fixe menu which sounded lovely but more food than we could handle. The Bianca and Neri Pasta with mussels and clams were the best we have had anywhere. The home made pasta was excellent cooked al dente and satisfied us immensely. The shared appetizer, Frito Misto , was more breaded and not tempura like batter as it should be. It tasted fine but true Frito Misto should be delicate and dipped in a light batter.
Would we eat at La Luce again? Sometimes we do a night at the Bonnet Creek Hilton just to eat here, have good bottle of wine and call it a great night.
