La Hacienda at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Ratings and Reviews
Food and ambience are top notch. The table service is pretty good. However, the hostess process is neither good or efficient. Because of the nonchalant attitude and personal conversations among several hostesses, we will likely not be returning. Too bad as this restaurant had always been on our must do list while visiting Scottsdale.
Great food, perfect location, beautiful setting. The only disappointment was our server. I ordered tacos for my grand daughter (9years old) due to the fact that the server did not come to our side of the table, he did not hear my order and failed to bring the tacos. (This was promptly corrected) The server mistook my son in law as the principal in our party, and concentrated on insuring that he had drinks, and attention. As I was seated in the back of the table, he literally ignored me as the one to pay the bill, ( and the tip)-------as we finished our meal, I requested a desert menu; he returned, collected the menus, and started to leave the table while I shouted to him that I would like to order desert!------He left the bill with my son in law. After an UNREASONABLE time, I suggested that the 5 family members go and enjoy the festivities & I would handle the bill as I had planned to do. I requested our valet parking tickets be validated and was curtly told that my son in laws ticket would be validated, but my ticket didn't qualify. (Valet parking was included with $75.00 purchase------our dining bill was $300.00)
Other than the disappointing service, this place is spectacular. We WILL return & choose our waiter carefully.
We are staying at the Scottsdale Princess and decided to try this on-site restaurant. A bit on the pricey side but portion sizes and quality were both good. Had to ask for chips and salsa but they throw it in gratis which was a pleasant surprise. Service was top notch. Everything at the Princess is expensive so no sticker shock here. Will go again next time we are visiting the area.
Everything about La Hacienda was spectacular! We visited as a group of three couples, and enjoyed the food so much. The jalapeno margarita is a must try, and the fresh guacamole is to die for.
Our server was less than stellar however. Very un-engaging, an no interest in making our visit memorable. Luckily for him, the food, atmosphere and company made up for it, but it was certainly no thanks to him.
An example of his poor service was when one person from our group received his meal, he realized it contained something he is allergic to. I had to wave in order to get our servers attention - he didn't check to make sure the food came out okay - and while the plate was immediately whisked away, another meal was never ordered or delivered. And he didn't once check in on us while we were eating, or let us know it was on its way. In fact, he seemed to intentionally avoid us the entire time! And not only that, the meal was on the bill when it arrived, and he was incredibly annoyed that we brought it up!
I would have loved to give this all 5 stars, because honestly it deserves it. But the server was just so unfortunate.
La Hacienda was okay. Nothing to write home about. We had a reservation for 8pm, and were seated at 8.10pm. Was 5 or 10 before we got a water, and shortly after was greeted by our server. Food was okay, nothing special. It would have been nice to have been offered a desert menu, but another person that was cleaning the table off asked. Not sure if eat there again
Everything is great here. Awesome margaritas and their flaming coffee after dinner drink is superb and entertaining to watch it made. The food is wondeful, full of flavor. I will go back again and again. It's one of my favorites. Highly recommend making reservations.
I've eaten at La Hacienda before and had a better experience the first time. This time we were seated inside and our table was so dark that you could not read the menu or even see my food well. I noticed that most other tables had a light on the wall behind them or something like that but our table did not. Also the chips were burned. They should have been thrown away. I had the short-ribs as my main and they were good. Guacamole was good too. Honestly, i could deal with eating in the dark but the burned chips were too much.
Ate Thanksgiving at Hacienda, as several of our family members have done for several years and always had turkey mole. This year the turkey was not a roasted fresh, sliced turkey but rather slices of very salty loaf that looked like JennyO turkey loaf. The mole was great, as well as the tamal but turkey VERY disappointing for $36. for a plate. Not sure we will return next year. We were guests at the hotel and have always previously enjoyed the turkey mole.
We were very surprised at the cost of parking on Thanksgiving Day and were pleased that the wait staff at La Hacienda were both knowledgeable and very accommodating in taking care of our valet parking and our guests valet parking since we were dining at the LaHacienda that evening. We weren't aware that we could choose outdoor dining and when we arrived, there were, unfortunately, no outdoor tables available on what turned out to be a very mild evening. Since we booked through Open Table, perhaps options like that are unavailable on line. Would have been helpful to know about the parking and the outdoor option at the time we made the reservation. Neither would have changed our decision, it just would have been better if we understood the options. Thank you. The outdoor Christmas celebration was a bonus for us and so much fun! I would also compliment the hotel for quickly getting my daughters phone into the hands of security after she inadvertently laid it down in the lobby at the very end of the evening in all the excitement of taking photos with the beautiful backdrop of Christmas decorations. Thank you!!!!
100% awesome experience!!! the resort is beautiful and romantic. we were lucky enough to get Angel for our waiter and he was delightful! The guac is amazing and a huge portion- the prices definitely reflect the large portions of food given. Everything we had was delicious and alterations were allowed for our dishes. My boyfriends tacos were too spicy, and when he mentioned it they reprepared them no questions asked and he was very happy!! I like spicy food but found the spicy pineapple margaritas were not hot spicy and were soooooo gooooodddd
Had a reservation but waited 20mn to be seated for 2.
Appetizer was not prepared properly and was lacking ingredients.
Steak was chewy and way over salted.
Music should have been traditional spanish or something similar, not new age alternative.
Presentation was mediocre.
Bill was $160 for 2 and it was not much different than applebee's.
Better luck at Toro the next time.
The coconut shrimp appetizer was delicious and the margaritas were tasty. Everything we ordered after that was underwhelming. The fish tacos especially lacked flavor. There are too many great restaurants in the Valley to come back to this one.
My husband and I have eaten here many times. Friday was horrible. We both ordered the chicken fajitas. Our chicken was undercooked and tasted like rubber. My husband was up all night sick. I love the resort we stay there every year. I'll never eat here again.
